I have a nerve disease in my legs and hips, which makes sitting up very hard, but I always did crafts and art. I got my mom to show me how to crochet so I could still have something to do and make when I am bedridden for days at a time. She only showed me the granny stitch. It's the way she had made blankets etc before, never anything fancier. I found your videos shortly after I finished my first lap blanket and love that there are so many different patterns I can now use. I have watched some other people's tutorials and they do not explain, or move as precise and slow as you so people can learn easily. You are a wonderful teacher and have given me so many new ways to do something I have come to enjoy. Thank You!
CJ Jankovics I love this channel, too! I would like to recommend another channel that has clear instructions and that is Creative Grandma. Just like Bella Coco, she keeps in mind that not all of us are advanced crocheters. ☺️
I just wanted to say I hope you have more better days then bad moving forward. I’m happy you found crocheting and this (and hopefully others) so your creativity will know mo bounds. I too have physical issues that lay me up for long periods, thankfully not as painful as I’m sure yours is, but I started to pass time and now I can’t go a day without creating something. I hope your doing well and still crocheting! 💜🙏💜
Anytime I want to see a new stitch tutorial I always search to see if you have one done. You are so clear speaking and your video quality is superb! Also love your pace, not too fast, not too slow. Thank you so much!!!
I’m a complete beginner and your tutorials are the only ones I can follow! Admittedly, they don’t always turn out looking like they should, but I’m getting there 🙈👍🏻
Thank you for another great tutorial & a big thanks for remembering to mention the difference between UK & US terms. I'm in the US but I learned to crochet by watching your videos & this feature is so appreciated!
Thank you so much. I have tried to learn the Alpine stitch from others and I finally get it. I am doing multiple stitches afghan for grandson for Christmas. Thank you
You have very good quality videos in my opinion. I love the editing work where you let us know what row we're on, and the boxes that summarize the row pattern and remind us to pause. One of the best crochet videos I've seen so far.
I love your tutorials, I’ve always been crafty and have done tapestry, cross stitch and latchhook rugs. I then started papercrafting when my kids were babies, they’re 19 and 15 now. A few years ago I took up jewellery making but knitting and crochet had always been my downfall. I had a grandma who crocheted and my mum is a knitter but no matter how many times I tried I just couldn’t get my head round either I turned 50 last year and decided at Christmas I was going to teach myself to crochet as I’ve always wanted to make a blanket, I found your channel and I have a whole new hobby that I love and it’s all thanks to your lovely way of breaking things down that the basics are going in. I got some small 25g ball of yarn and I use them to learn the new stitches with before I go on to my decent yarn lol. I’m waiting rather impatiently for my first Bella Coco box and I can’t wait to see what is in it. Thank you so much for your time and effort that you’ve put into your channel and I look forward to your new videos. Regards Jayne x
Thank you so much. I am currently trying to make a vest and wanted to use the Alpine Stitch, but I couldn’t find a tutorial that explained it as good as you did, and this helped me so much! Thanks you!!
Thank you so much!! I've watched sooo many videos on how to do this stitch. I'll follow along and get frustrated. Listening to you, and following along I felt more calm and confident. My tension relaxed so much. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
Thank you Sarah-Jayne. A great tutorial! I'm using this as an edging for a baby blanket. 4 colours (I've done one on a plain granny square blanket. This stitch gives great texture and looks good too! Thanks again. Your videos are really clear. Still learning stuff after 60 years!!!😊
I have just taken up crochet again after many years and I have to say your instruction is an absolute delight to watch, easy to follow and gives me so much confidence to start creating wonderful projects for my friends and family. Thanks so much!!!
I’ve reached Part 10 of the Snugggle Up sampler blanket. What an attractive stitch this is! Returning to crochet after many years, I really had no idea just how versatile - and compelling - it can be
What a beautiful stitch! I've just bought several skeins of a cotton & bamboo #2 weight ("fine") yarn, in a lovely silver-gray. I'm going to double it, work with an 8mm hook, and after doing a scarf or cowl to get the feel of the stitch, I think I'll make a cocoon cardigan. Thank you for all of your crochet videos, and the clarity of your tutorials. Your work is greatly appreciated. 💖💐
Great video. Clear voice & excellent close up shots of stitches & crochet work. I find USA description of stitches more logical than UK version. Live in UK. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing! I love watching your videos. Your videos are actually how my bestie and learned to crochet. We started with your granny squares for beginners. I just wanted to let you know that we appreciate the effort and patience and care you put into your videos. ❤❤❤
OMG! Your tutorial was great! I've watched several videos and yours by far is the most simplistic, easy to follow, and now has me hooked that I can learn different patterns and techniques. Thank you!
So, despite the confusing terms (double meaning single and treble meaning double) i finally learned this stitch.. you explained and demonstrated it very clearly. I, for the life of me, couldn't seem to grasp it with any other video and was at the point of thinking about how stupid i am and was ready to kick my own arse, considering i usually learn things quickly.. thank you!
I love the way you explain every step xx I actually learn how to crochet wit you xxx thank you very much xx you helped me to relax in very dark period of my life xx thank you 😍😍😍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your clear instructions. I would have appreciated seeing the back side of your sample at the beginning. It’s always helpful to know when a stitch is the same on both sides or not.
Beautiful stitch. I am working on a Afghan for a friend in this stitch color is medium thyme from heart. It's looking beautiful, will be gorgeous when I finally get it done.
You've come to my rescue yet again ^_^ This would make a beautiful shawl or blanket! I saw a rainbow blanket made with this stitch and came to your channel to find out how to do this. Thank you!
Hi there, I do love your videos, I find them really clear and easy to follow. I was in a wool shop the other day looking for some wool for my blanket and there was already another customer in there and she was asking the assistant of where she could learn to crochet as she had never tried it before, and the shop assistance instantly recommended your you tube channel, and I agreed with her and advised her to definitely watch your videos and she would have no problem picking it up. : )
Hi! I love your videos so much! I’ve been learning to to pass the time crochet since COVID 19 hit NYC and your videos are the easiest to understand. Thank you so much!
Love love love you Bella you are my crochet guru. You explain so well . Thank you so much. A verry Merry Christmas 2020 in advance and loads of love from Pune India. God bless you.
Very pretty stitch. I might use this with a cotton yarn for a summer-weight chair throw. As always, your photography is SO clear Sarah-Jayne, it makes it really easy to follow your tutorials! P.S. your nail colour is gorgeous :)
ou you are welcome ..... my pleasure....... I wish I would have more time to try all your projects haha bu,t with my kids around it is not possible :))))
This is a beautiful stitch for the scarf I want to make with a ball of yarn a friend gave me. I'm not sure what kind of yarn it is being as it's a leftover with no label but it looks similar in weight and texture to your sample - at least I hope so!🤞🏻
I am battling with this stitch, Jayne! I have followed your standing stitch tutorial AND this video but I still end up with a gap on one side every alternate row! Besides which if I use the 'top' stitch of the standing row I somehow manage to add stitches. As is obvious I am a enthusiastic crocheter but not very deedy😉
This pattern completely reminds me of the knitted moss stitch because to me, the front post double crochets look like v’s that are pushed to the front and the normal double crochet look like purl stitch bumps.
I don't have any plans to do a tutorial on this at the moment but i will add this to my list for possible future projects. Thank you for your suggestion 🙂
