Materials: *DK yarn, lightweight yarn number 3, 8 ply *3.5 mm crochet hook *Scissors *Tapestry needle *Embellishments (optional) Instructions: * Chain 14. * Make 3 double crochets into the fourth chain from the hook (this counts as 4 double crochets). * Make 9 double crochets in each stitch until you get to the last stitch. * Make 8 double crochets in the last stitch. * Turn the work and make 9 double crochets in each stitch until you get to the last stitch. * Make 4 double crochets in the same space as the last stitch. * Chain 1, make 2 double crochets in the same space (repeat 4 times). * Make 9 double crochets across. * Make 2 double crochets in each of the next 8 stitches (repeat 8 times). * Make 9 double crochets to the back of the heel. * Make 2 double crochets in the next 4 stitches (repeat 4 times). * Slip stitch into the first double crochet. * Chain 1, make 50 half double crochets into the back loops, slip stitch into the first half double crochet. * Chain 1, make 13 half double crochets, 2 double crochets together (repeat 12 times), 13 half double crochets to the end of the shoe, slip stitch onto the first half double crochet from the previous row. * Chain 1, make 13 half double crochets, 6 sets of 2 double crochets together, 13 half double crochets, slip stitch to the first half double crochet. * Chain 1, make 11 half double crochets, 5 sets of 2 double crochets together, 11 half double crochets, slip stitch to the first half double crochet. * Chain 1, make single crochet, 2 single crochets together, single crochet 11, 2 single crochets together, single crochet 10, 2 single crochets together, slip stitch to the first single crochet. * Chain 1, make half double crochet (repeat 24 times). * Repeat the last row 5 or 6 more times to make the cuff. * Fasten off and weave in the ends. * Decorate the shoes with flowers, bows, or other embellishments (optional).
