I really like how your balaclava worked out. I am going to make several for some construction workers working on a volunteer project to wear under their hard hats this winter. However I think I will add button holes and buttons or snaps in the ribbing at one side so that it will be easier for them to take on and off.

Hey Bibi! Thank you so much for this tutorial!!! However, I can't get passed 5:30... When the first row of the back loop is finished, when I turn my work around there isn't has clear of a back loop as the first row so I've tried crocheting in different loops on the back but nothing comes out the same as yours... Any help ? thank you :)

as stated in the video there’s one row of single crochet into the back loops then a row of HDC after. So you’re alternating between a row of single crochet in the third loop and a row of HDC

bought the pattern and tried to follow along but i got super lost at around 8:30 :( can someone help, when i do 21 dc would that mean i have to skip in between or would that go through the single 45 stitches i just made

you do 21dc then do 2dc in the next stitch then dc then do 2 dc in the next stitch then dc to the end

@@bibibutten so I don't have 45 stitches on top (used a different size yarn and crochet hook) I have 30 for some reason. However I am curious why you are doing 21 dc? should I change that according to my amount? I also bought the pattern but im confused :(

hi! I bought your pattern and I have watched this video a bunch. I am so confused once I got to the actual balaclava head portion (what you say in the video just completely goes over my head for some reason and even though I have the pattern I am having trouble understanding when to do the double crochets etc.) Just curious what to do next after I single crochet in the neck tubing to go into to the face. hat part :( sorry ah

so we aren’t working in the round- you’re leaving a gap the desired size for your face. Then you chain 2 and turn your work and carry on with the pattern

I went to a warehouse in Silvertown E16 called Thrift factory Kilo sale !! They had a massive selection you could spend a whole day there. They only allow some people to pick and choose as they are really exporting mostly. but They also do events , thrift factory £10 per kilo You need a strong back to go through the clothes as mostly in cages and trollies. But it was worth it as many where Brand new with Tags

For one solid colored balaclava i would reccomend buying one skein of yarn thats about 270 yards long!! Doesn't have to be exactly that but im just estimating how long the skeins usually are
