Mikey, you have saved the day! I needed a crochet stitch to fill in the top and bottom of an Afghan, and the bean stitch is perfect. It”s for my granddaughter’s dorm bed at college, and I wanted both a warm pattern, and an attractive one. Excellent bonus is that it’s fast and easy! Thanks a million.
Hi Mikey, just want to say I love the way you teach us. Your instructions are só clear and you have made it so easy. Really love your channel! Please don't ever stop! If I need some advice, where can I post them, because I am sure nobody wants to read my boring questions.
Thank you so much for showing how easy the bean stitch is. I think I might be able to do it. lol. you have helped me get out of my crochet bic. I asam loving it. thanks sgain. Traci
Cool 😎 Beans Mikey LoL !!! Seriously I love it !!! I seen people doing it with only 4 on their hook and I was like this isn’t right so I knew if I checked with you I’d find the correct way thank you 🙏!!!
What a great stitch (and wonderful tutorial). I'm like you, I've crocheted my whole life and am always finding something new to learn. Question: If you would do foundation single crochet, would you do an odd number (19) rather than the even (20)?
What a nice and easy stitch! I've got a friend who wants a heavy(weighted) blanket for his wife who has panics attacks. I made a huge blanket out of Bernet Blanket yarn but it wasn't as heavy as he'd like. Do you think this stitch would add more weight using the Bernet Blanket?
Wow! Thankyou for the quick response. I am loving how the foundation looks with this . I make scarves for the homeless with new stitches and this stitch is so pretty and fast. I'm going to play around with the sc rows every so often.
I believe th emultiples are given in the tutorial. So you would want to chain the number to reach across to about 36" to 40". Your tension will vary so giving you a number may or may not work for you.
I detest crochet videos. Usually the narrator gets on my nerves or goes too slow/fast for me. Mikey, your videos I actually enjoy. Thank you so much for them!
My hook does not come through cleanly and smoothly like yours. The hook grabs/hooks yarn while being pulled through the 6 loops. Very difficult, when it shouldn't be. Please advise.
I have the same problem whether I'm trying the puff stitch or the bean stitch and I don't know what I'm doing wrong. All of the videos I watch makes it look so easy.
The instructions for this stitch on your Study of the Earth cal are diffetent than on this tutorial, which makes the pattern instructions very confusing. In the pattern, if you y/o your hook as instructed to do, before you insert your hook into the stitch and then do this 3 times, you will have more than 5 loops on your hook. This is very frustrating! Your video tutorial and the pattern instructions should match, especially when we are learning a new stitch!
