Thank you! I made this for my 4 year old granddaughter . I used I love this yarn' in bright pink sparkle! I will make many more, such an easy and fun pattern!!
I have just finished a scarf to add to the hat I made last night from this pattern. Thank you for sharing this wonderful pattern. I used varigated yarn, in sunset colours. Perfect for my red headed daughter next Winter. I am in Australia, Queensland, and it is Summer here now. I am crocheting in my cool airconned room. Starting another of your patterns soon!
I just did 3 of your hats. So easy to follow tutorial. I just did 2 hats for a lady and she wanted them in Aldi's store sign colors. Sweet story to share with you and crochet lovers. She met the lady at Aldi's and they soon became friends. She gave her this hat for Christmas so when they meet up every week at Aldi's they have matching hats.
They are so warm too, your granddaughters will love them, if you want a hat do the stitches into a magic circle instead of a band, then tighten it and add a pom pom.
So glad I found this pattern (and your YT channel...BTW...had to subscribe 🤗). I crochet for charity and finding quick beanie projects is the best way to help fill up a box of goodies (scarfs, cowls, hats, mittens)...this is the first one that is universal in size ...and I'm loving that 🥰. Thanks for the share, and I'll be making loads of these.
Very easy to follow, but definitely not quick. I'm using 4 ply yarn so it's heavier. I also single crocheted the elastic (bobble) in at the beginning. Thank you for all the amazing videos.
This is absolutely wonderful! The yarn is gorgeous!!😍 I could listen to you all day long. Your tutorials are well explained and very clear😊 Thank you so much!!
since i wasn't going to the store to buy hair ties, i decided to use the brute force approach. i chained 40 and put 40 single crochets in the chain. after 5 or 6 rows it was obvious i had a tree skirt for a VERY small christmas tree I did it like a foundation chain instead of crocheting around the chain like you would in the spaces of a granny square. i cannot find my measuring tape at the moment, but the hole in the middle has to be at least 4 or 5 inches across.
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel i did both of the things you suggested, i just made a hole big enough to put the head of a small child through instead of just a pony tail. i think i could actually put the tail of a small pony through it I started another one with a chain of 20 and was able to put 30 single crochets into that. now all i need is a volunteer to try it on.
its defiantly the amount of chains you are making. put it on your head and look in a mirror, Richard I think the 20 was a good idea to try that should solve the problem.
I’m about to attempt to make this.. it looks so easy but after watching it it’s a new stitch to me with that front and back loop so we will see if I can do it. Love the video though very thorough with how you are teaching
this is a very stretchy pattern I think 50 will be way too wide you start with 35 or 40 then double up on the 2nd row. so 40 becomes 80 and with mine it fit up to extra large head.
I think that will be perfect for my granddaughter she always has a messy bun. Only thing she has very thick curly hair so hope big enough hole, it looks like it will be.
I don’t know what I did but mine is just too big. Maybe the yarn. I don’t know. I used an 8 hook because I looked up what a UK 5 for US and that’s what it read to use, so maybe that was wrong information. I’m going to try 30 on the ponytail instead of 40.
I didn't hear an increase in the hat, so I am assuming it's 40 stitches all around for the length of the hat? Looks AMAZING, can't wait to try this out!
increase 2 into every stitch on row 2 I did show that in the tutorial. If yours looks ruffled don't worry it will come right as you work all the other rows and its on your head.
Hi Allison the ponytail beanie is beautifull thankyou for putting up the tutorial. I brought the yarn you used in the tutorial but I'm not getting one hat out of the ice and I dont know why . I'm guessing a smaller hat not 8 inches?
Can you please show us an easy pattern for an adult using double knitting? I like the magic ring and am not understanding properly how to increase the stitches.
There are lots on RU-vid using different patterns and easy stitches. I did this for my daughter and decided to video it as I made it. Kind of a one off hat.
How many skeins of yarn do you need for the hat? Love the pony tail pattern for the ones who have their hair in a ponytail. I am so happy with it. Thank you.
Ok I my hat was coming out way too big so I started over and did 30 instead of 40 on ponytail. Came out great. Used Yarn bee Velvety Smooth Sparkle Blush.
i did one without a hole and put 30 stitches into the centre then 1 row double up with 2 stitches into every stitch making 60 then crochet until i was happy with the length.
take away about 8 stitches. This is so stretchy it might fit a 6 year old as mine was quite small before i put it on and my daughters head is bigger than mine and it fit and her friend has a very small head and it fit her too hahahah
Could you have a tutorial for older kids say from 10yrs to 15yrs. I have a small head so I can wear most youth caps. But would also enjoy making some adult hats too as I plan to donate some to our community fuel assistance office for the low income families in our area here in mid Minnesota, USA. Thank you for your response to my question I really enjoy your tutorials. Thank you Merry Christmas
Do you know how to made a double sided Afghan with 2 different colors? I have instructions but don't understand them I need to see it to be able to do it. Please let me know. I would love to see you do one. Thanks
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel i think ive some how dropped or made or confused the last flank stitch and the chain three some how 😬😬 third hat decided to put a stich marker in to get me to stop and look fingers crossed 🤞🏻, thank you for replying its very much appreciated
@@AlisonRussellsCrochetChannel i worked it out i was going round the post as the chain three then chaining three which caused a strange increase just thought id say incase any in else has the same issue
