Vanessa is such a genius. I tried making my own amigurumi birds a while back just by eye, which were simple balls with semi circle wings, a peak and some details here and there so seeing her museum-like realistic designs is amazing. There's just so much thought put into it. The wings, the shape of the body... That OWL THOUGH!! Just wow.

Great book. My wife has made the Cardinal and two Budgies in three days now is making the swan. Only problem we had was the wire Gauge does not make it clear it is AWG not SWG so would recommend using the metric sizes

My Mother was an avid bird watcher, she would have loved this book. I have never seen patterns for birds, they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing!

Hello. I need some help please. I have the same book. I'm doing the barn owl. In the breast section I'm stuck, what means (row 3(inc): 1 dc in same dc as sl st, 1 dc in the next 3 dc, (dc2inc) twice) twice means I got to do 2 times the 3 dc and the dc2inc? And when it said turn it means turn the row to start do it backwards? I really hope you can help me

I found just the opposite. It is difficulty to read. More explanation and descriptions needed at pivotal areas and/or pictures to show difficult steps. Very frustrating, a video link would be a nice addition to the book. I really wanted to do the cardinal after seeing it in your post but now I feel it was just an advertisement to sell the book. If you are not a expert don't waste your money.
