Another year and another refresher on this wonderful Christmas stocking! I have 7 kids, along with their spouses/partners and 13 grandchildren (and more coming) that I’ve made stockings for now… using this pattern… and customizing them with their names, different colors/appliques/beads/etc.. And I’ve also made some for the “steps” (kids/grandkids), nieces and nephews and working on more for more family members and friends. And yes… I do have the pattern very well memorized now, but it’s like a tradition now (like watching the Wizard of Oz around this time of year), so right after Thanksgiving, I make a date with Mikey on here and make a few more. And on this note, thank you SO much, my Friend, for making and sharing this tutorial with us! It truly is a favorite!! 👍🏼💜🥰👍🏼

I used to do a lot of crochet. After a couple of bad experiences, I stopped doing it and my yarn collected a bunch of dust. After seeing some of the afghans and these stockings, I'm more than excited to have four afghans and seven stockings in the works for the family for Christmas. Thank you for re-igniting my passion for this and helping me to remember how much fun it is to work with yarn! Huggles!

It is so sad because this amazing yarn, Red Heart Boutique Midnight yarn has been discontinued. Can you recommend a yarn that has the same effect of the "chain" within the yarn as this one does? I wasn't sure with me being in the States maybe they had something in Canada that came close to this type of yarn. Plus the variegated or self-striping one, Aura, is stunning!!!!! I just love this yarn, :-(

West Michigan Crochet I noticed you actually end up adding stitches. You crochet the 7 but when you drop down to pick up the bottom it adds a stitch. He also failed to say your first stitch after chaining one is in the same chain. Then it’s six more across then the 8th is on the bottom. Hope that makes sense.

Mikey, I love this pattern and have made 2 stockings so far. However, I made them out of plain jane yarn and now want to add some sparkle! Can you tell me what colors of Red Heart Boutique Midnight yarn you used, please? I've been looking online, but am having trouble finding something in that product line that looks like what you're using. I too am a Father Christmas person and it's not easy finding a sparkly deep red or a blue that's just right.
