Tiffany, my name is Kristi, and first of all I just came across these Christmas stalkings and there so beautiful, exactly what I've been looking for. I love them and can't wait to get started on them for my kids and grandkids. On a more serious note I want you to how much I appreciate you,your smile and energy is sometging I've really needed in my life. I've been a registered nurse for years and loved my job😂. Back in May of 2020 when the whole world went crazy , Ì woke up with what looked to be stroke at 48 y/o it wasn't a stroke, but it was The shingles virus attacked the nerves in my ɓrain. Long hospital stay and a long recovery......I had to learn to talk, walk and eat again!!! I have profound right sided deafness and suffer chronic tinnitus, vertigo, balance issue's and debilitating headaches!!!! With ever year I've worked hard to gain some independence? Your channel has helped me not only to learn to crochet, but it really helps with my foggy brain. I feel more confident everyday to try something new and to make things to pay if forward to those who've helped me so much. I've made two scarfs, 2 baby blankets , I made your sugarplum blanket, 2 other blankets and I'm going to starting The rainbow blanket with your all time favorite stitch😊 Sorry for such a long comment, ĵust wanted you to know you've made a difference in my life😊 Thank you so much 😊

Hi @kab0814, thank you for leaving me your comment. It is easy to not see the impact one has on another as a content creator. My focus being to provide awesome projects that I would love to see and make and hope that you would too. Hearing what my channel has done for you fills my heart. I wish you so much abundance and love for being such the giving soul that you are. Not only for all that you do to pay it forward but also for giving so much of yourself by being a registered nurse. If you ever find that you would like a little more, such as the feeling of a community and friends, I hope you would try my Crochet Club membership program. Your story sounds like a few of my current members stories. I think you could find connection and even friends. If you wanted to just try it to see if you like it there is a 10 day free trial period. If you are interested, click here: members.crochetwithTiffany.com. If not that is absolutely ok. Thank you for continue to make this world a better place. I wish you so much love and joy. ❤️❤️🧶🧶😊😊

A good friend of mine ask if I would make a BIG Stocking for a gift for a new baby. So I found your WONDERFUL Pattern & made one with you‼️She picked the colors & yarn, YARN BEE SOFT SECRET IN MIST (gray), LILAC, & WHITE‼️ Since she wanted it BIG & DUE TO HOW HEAVY it would be, I used 2 strands all the way thru‼️ It came out BEAUTIFUL ❣️ Since it was so big 26 1/2” long with cuff not folded down, the foot is 14” I had room to do a few special little things……. I made an Angel, Snow Flakes, & Evergreen tree to place on it here & there❣️If I ever figure out how to send pictures of my projects 🤪I promise to send you a pic so you can see what an AWESOME Teacher you are☺️ Thank you Tiff for being sooooo kind & sharing your WONDERFUL TALENT WITH ALL OF US❤️🙏🏼❤️ Sincerely, barbie (from S.E. I moved into my dad's about a month ago and his brother isnt very fond of me. We also are JUST above the poverty line since we've got seven people living here (my dad, brother, aunt, uncle, 2 kiddos, and me). I'm also trans and changed my name somewhat recently. I *had* a stocking, but it has my deadname on it. Finding a crochet pattern for a stocking was quite lucky for me. I started crocheting it today and am making it rainbow since i'm in the lgbtqia community. This was an unbelievably easy pattern. Thank you for making this :)

I am so happy you were able to find my stocking pattern! I’m also so happy that you are finding it easy to work up! My daughter is 15 and has quite a few friends that have much in common with your story so when I say I understand everything you said, it’s coming from the heart. Be you! Do whatever makes you happy and feel authentic. This can always take interesting turns, bobs and weaves, that happens with everyone. Who knows, you could probably make a couple of stockings and sell them. You have my full permission to do so. I wish you so much love and joy this Christmas. I hope you find more projects on my channel that you are interested in making. Crochet is quite therapeutic and does incredible things for people. 😊🧶❤️

So, I've never made a stocking before. But this was SUPER easy to follow! Now, my nephew wants a HUGE stocking, as big as he is he said.... how do I adjust the pattern to go bigger? I know I need to keep increasing at the toe. And I'll need to add rows in between toes and start of heel and whatnot. But, I'm not a great mathematician.... can anyone help??? I'm hoping for about a foot/foot and a half diameter and maybe 3 or 4 feet tall.

AWE!!! I love that your nephew made a special request AND that it is for a super fun size! What a fun idea!!! This is going to take some playing with in order to get the size you want. Yes, working from the toe, continue to follow the increase pattern until you measure that foot/food and a half diameter you want. My stocking measures 19 inches long. So just one inch more than a foot and a half long. To make your stocking 3 feet long just double the number of rows I have in each straight away like the straight part of the foot and the straight part above the heel. When it comes to the heel, simply slip stitch t o attach the heel color to one side of the open hole. Decrease single crochet the first 2 stitches together, make one single crochet in each stitch across to the other side. Decrease the last 2 stitches together. Then flip the stocking and continue working on the other side, decrease single crochet the first 2 stitches together. Make one single crochet in each stitch across. Decrease the last 2 stitches together. Then slip stitch into the first stitch made with the heel color to close the round. Repeat this decrease pattern until you can touch the top and bottom together and have the stocking maintain the shape you want. Then stop decreasing and just slip stitch join the top and bottom together to close it. I hope all of that made sense. It would be awesome if you were able to make a huge stocking for your nephew. HAVE FUN!! 🤗❤️🧶

How can I do this without having the seam of the slip stitch chain one and same stitch do a half double stitch? Thank you for any recommendations

I love your pattern Tiffany and have an idea for a couple changes to the stocking and hope that I can share it with you when I’ve completed it. I’m assuming I can’t send you a picture right here, but if there is a way I can show you mine, I’d be happy to.

Tiffany, I love this pattern!! I am already thinking of Christmas 2022. My father is in a personal care facility, and I always crochet something for all the residents for Christmas. However, this pattern is too big to make for them. Can you tell me how to make it smaller, or do you have a similar pattern of a smaller stocking?? Thanks so much, and I look forward to next Friday's tutorial!!

Hi Pat! I love that you want to make something for the people at the care facility. I did release a mini stocking a couple weeks ago if you would like to check that out but currently I don’t have anything in between currently. I am still adding things to my Christmas Crochet Playlist if you would like to check out the videos in there. You might find something that excites you. 😊❤️🧶

Hi Tiffany ! Thanks so much for this pattern ! I'm hoping u can help me Im just about finished my first one and it is way too small. I need a wider stocking for my kids. I'm new to crochet and I'm not sure at all how to fix this so it will work for my needs. Can you tell me what I did wrong or how to go about fixing it to make it wider. For reference the size I ended up with is basically a loose reading sock. I would so appreciate any help cause I'm all about Christmas !!

Hi Megan! I think a quick trick that you could do is use a thicker yarn and a bigger crochet hook! Try using a size 5 weight yarn (bulky/chunky) and a crochet hook size J/10-6.00mm. This will increase the size of the stocking. The only other thing I can think of is to work more rounds of increases in the toe of the stocking. You will have to make adjustment to the heal as well to accommodate for the increases that you make. I hope this helps. I think just changing the yarn you are working with will be you easiest solution. 😊🧡🧶

I think I might have dont to many rows on the body of the stocking (you said 39 if I'm not mistaken) but i like it. Made one for my boy friend

Hi Tiffany. It's a good pattern. I wonder if you have any suggestions to make a sock so that tge seam doesn't show up when it's facing to the left

Great question DMariesCreations! To eliminate the seam there I would utilize stitch markers and work in continuous rounds not the slip stitch and chain to get to next round. I think it’s that slip stitch and chain that really stands out. There are some other tricks you could do to help hide that seam including slip stitching into the first stitch NOT the chains among other techniques. I hope this helps! Best wishes! 😊🧶❤️

I’ve tried scanning the comments to see if somebody else had asked, but didn’t see it at all. I noticed in the video when working on the heel, you jump from round 2 to the end of round 3 with no explanation. I think I figured out what you did in round 3, but just wanted to point that out in case anyone else was like me, trying to figure out where the missing row went.😅

Hi Laura! My apologies if that skipped section caused confusion. You just repeat the same instructions over and over, decreasing stitch to begin, one stitch in each space to last 2 on the bottom, decrease stitch the last 2 sts together, flip the stocking so you can work on the top. Decrease stitch to begin, one stitch in each space to last 2 on the top, decrease stitch the last 2 sts together. Slip Stitch in the top of the first Decrease to close round. You will repeat these instructions round after round until you can get the bottom and top of heel to touch and have the curve you desire in the stocking. Then you can either weave in the tail through all the stitches of the opening and synch closed OR you can just whip stitch the two sides together. I hope this helps! 😊❤️🧶

Hi Karen! Great question! When we decrease 2 stitches together they become 1 stitch space. So, for round 2, we will count that as one stitch space and use it in our decrease for the next row. I hope that helps. If you need more help I would be more than happy to help you over in my Crochet Club where I can walk you through this in person. 🤗 members.crochetwithTiffany.com

Great video, 1st stocking made & looks good. How would I go about reducing the size of stocking?
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany 9 месяцев назад
Feel free to make less increase rows in the toe to shrink the width of the stocking and then make fewer rows between the toe and heel and then the heel and cuff. The heel will be worked very similar to how I work the heel in the video. 😊🧶❤️

What a great tutorial! Every Christmas I look for just the right crochet stocking…I haven’t found what I’m looking for yet! I am kind of a beginner at crocheting, but this definitely looks like something I can handle! Can’t wait to try it! I was wondering if you could show us how to crochet a letter on to the cuff so we can personalize them??

I am so happy that my stocking tutorial was just what you were looking for! Wanted to make a stocking video that was Easy to make and Easy to follow. Can’t wait for you to get started!! Oh! And I thought of the letter thing too on the cuff. That will be an add on feature for next year. Couldn’t quite squeeze it in this year and I didn’t want to over do it on the tutorial. Excited you asked though! 😉😊❤️🧶

So, I am trying to make 9 stockings for next Christmas. I only started crocheting in September but am getting on ok although I can’t read patterns so love being able to watch a video. The one I have already made doesn’t seem as big as yours. I am using a size 5mm hook and Aran yarn but it just seems quite a bit smaller. Is this purely down to tension? Also, is there a way of making them without the visible, diagonal seam from where you chain 1 at the end of every row? Can you do it continuously and use a stitch marker?
@CrochetWithTiffany
@CrochetWithTiffany 6 месяцев назад
Great questions! Yes, you can work continuous rounds. Just be careful making a clean cut off when you go to do the color change. You might also try slip stitching from the back where you insert your crochet hook from the back of your stitch to the front, grab the yarn and pull through from the front to the back. This changes how the join looks moving forward in the project. 😊❤️🧶
