Absolutely love this stitch, last year I made 4 sets of fingerless gloves with this stitch, a couple baby blankets, and for myself a cocoon-like sweater jacket.
Hi allison I love this stitch years ago I did scarves in it ,but had forgotten how to do it,so thank you for doing it,the colours are great,🧚♂️🧚♂️🧚♂️
I love this stitch. I made a lovely little clutch bag out of it and it turned out gorgeous but I did struggle at first, your tutorial is better than the one I followed to learn it. Do like the double colours. One more of your blankets on my to do list!!! Nit enough hours in a day. Bye 💁🏼♀️
For the longest time i've been wanting to try this stitch, but looked so intimidating, but with your lovely guidance, as always, i am now going to do a baby blanket using the Crocodile stitch. Thank you for bringing us, yet again, a lovely pattern dear Alison :) xx
Hi Alison, I'm currently working on the 'Bavarian' stitch that you demonstrated a few weeks ago. OMG!!! I'm still hanging in there.............It's good to have a challenge! Love to Mutley, Angela x
Sounds great! I need to try those again. I have king cotton in beautiful colours so a small hook and small stitches will look fab in bright fire reds and orange.
Another great tutorial I've made quite a few blankets from your other tutorials and I have made this blanket in the one colour I'm looking forward to trying the 2 colour version I would also like to thank you I have learned a lot from you this year you kept me busy during lockdown and can't wait to learn more from you thank you so much for taking the time to share your skills .
I love the two colours. I've NEVER done the crocodile stitch. So I'm putting this on my list of projects to make. Thank you for a very clear tutorial and also thank you for giving the US terminology. I love it when the end result is displayed in frame. It is very visually stimulating and sort of motivates me to keep going because I want that result. (LOL) I was wondering if there is no way that one can 'carry' the colour along without having to cut it? And maybe work the border "over/around" the "carried" yarn? I would want to try that. Will do a swatch. Not sure it will work. Holding thumbs. Have a blessed weekend and thank you again for a lovely video. I love baby blankets. (a personal favorite). xo (That light blue yarn is so so lovely).
I didn't carry the yarn up you could easily do that then do a border to hide the carried up loop. I thought for beginners it would be easier to just cut and re-join the next yarn as you can do one row of many different colours. Imagine it it peacock colours of purples and blues greens etc
I’d like to do this all white so with the grey you was using would I do the same with the white thank you can’t wait to make this as I’ve no idea what sex the baby is thank you for your lovely videos 😊
On your first blue row of crocodile stitch, you slip stitch across, but this is different than the other video. Is it a better to slip stitch instead of just jumping across when doing one colour, or is it personal preference. Its my first attempt at this blanket
once I did a few of these I found it better to slip stitch, its personal preference really either way is ok some people slip stitch some just jump across. I have several books with this stitch in it (stitch books not pattern books) one says slip stitch over to next V space and two others state skip next V and work scale stitch into next V space.
This is beautiful. So pretty. I've had a go at this before and got confused with my edges. I like the look of that hook do you have a link for it please x
Love this stitch though it'll take a lot of patience before I get the hang of it. You make it look so easy. Can I ask what brand of hook you prefer to use? I'm trying to find one thats more comfortable to use. Thank you Alison for all your tutorials 🐶
