Have you ever watched Bob Ross paint? It starts with you thinking, "this is kind of a mess, where is he going with this...?" and then in the end you're just blown away. This cardigan was the crochet equivalent of that. It turned out amazing!! So cute and a perfect execution. Even with what you see as flaws, it's fantastic!
I've finished and what a relief! I listened to you think aloud and thought, "It's not just me! Other people sound like this too! Things that are right in front of you magically change because it seems insane that I could have gone this astray!" 🤯😱 Although it was not fun to see anyone else struggle like I do sometimes, it's nice to know it's not just me. Every project isn't like that but the ones that are.... ugh, almost feels like you can't win for losing. Yet, you finished! I do think it is safe to say you will never rework this project! 😂😂😂😂 It all looks thought out and well made, stray ends or not. If someone else will enjoy it, then sell it, gift it, do a giveaway, something.... the creator in you will LOVE seeing someone else LOVE this cardigan. The person who remade it.... well, that piece of you is always going to have some not so fun feelings attached to this amazing holiday handmade awesomeness! In the end, the combination of 2021 and 2024 Dana came together so well... albeit one granny of a ride.😁 Also, don't discount that super full moon.... sometimes it isn't the "full moon" that is the issue, but rather the week leading up to and after the full moon. This one seems to have been that way for most everyone I know! I may sound crazy lol but there is something to that full moon thing!🌕🤪 I look forward to seeing what is in the works for next week! 😊
I haven't even watched yet, but I wanted you to know that my reward for being a good adult and getting things finished today is watching this video. You didn't know it, but you helped me get lots of things I had been procrastinating completed! THANKS❤❤☺☺
Taking things old and making it new is not usually easy! It looks great! Makes me want to take a look at what I have and if I can improve or start anything over I’ve given up on. Great motivation!
This was such a cool project! The transformation was awesome. I love that style of cardigan. Finding the right buttons is a challenge, but definitely like the ones you choose! The fun/character granny squares are cool. I especially like the cauldron.
aww Hi Finn, love you boo! ❤❤ You did a great job with your problem-solving! If you have any more projects that need a refresh/redesign that would be so fun to see!
But it turned out great! The added plain granny squares actually balanced it out. The mistakes you made you easily solved! I think it’s sooo cute! 👏👏👏🧡
The cardigan was so nice in the end, but I loved the squers you did (especially the owl and the cauldron soo cool). It must be so fun to wear the colours, and every bit of it screams Halloween.
What a glow-up for that cardigan! It definitely was a labor of love but it looks amazing, and if worst came to worst it looks like Finn would have liked it as a blanket for himself! 😂
The cardigan turned out absolutely beautiful. I'm sorry you hit so many bumps in the road but the finished product is breathtaking. I admire your perseverance in the face of adversity in this project. You are truly talented. Thank you for yet another wonderful video and some inspiration for us all.
Awe!! I love it!! You should keep it. It looks so good on you. But if you want to sell it why don't you put a liner inside (black or halloweenie) fabric will hide those booboos. Then you can sell it for the cost you should get for it!!! Love watching your videos! Enjoy the week!!! ❤❤❤
Ohhhh what a great idea!! Thank you so much my friend , didn’t even cross my mind! lol I love having you here , can’t wait to see you in the next one ❤️
It really turned out great! A wonderful idea to modify it to where you are happy with it today!! I really like how nice the ribbing turned out and the buttons too! You did an awesome job!
That result was amazing. And I doubted your choice to face the squares down on the sleeves when I first saw it, but I think you made the right choice ❤
I think the cardigan turned out great! I have lots of granny squares and abandoned projects sitting in my closet. You’re inspiring me to create something. 😊
What a COOL project! So gorgeous, Dana. Seriously. Thanks for taking us along! Great job, Finn, with helping Mom unravel the yarn! Have a good start to the week ☺️🫶🏻🧶🧡🧙🏻 PS: “editing Dana” is on point! 🔥. I am here for it! So glad I found your channel 🥰
Oh you’re just simply the sweetest 🫶🏻🥹 I’m so glad you enjoyed it ! And thank you, editing Dana really appreciates that compliment 🥲❤️ thanks for being here friend! I’m so glad you are ❤❤
Thank you for sharing your process on this! Seeing how you worked through each obstacle as you went along was RIVETING! Seriously a Crochet version of a drama! 😂 Entertaining, educational, inspirational…this video has it all!! And a huge wow-factor of an end result! Love it!! ❤🧶🎃👻💀👏
The ribbing really brought the whole cardigan together! Love it and would wear ❤️❤️ (I've been having a brain fart/clumsy week too. Something is up lol)
Thank you so much!! I agree! I kept telling my husband to trust the process 😂❤ but omg sorry you’ve had the same!! Hopefully it’ll pass soon for us both!! 😂
You did a fantastic job Dana 💚🧡💜🖤🤍 I can appreciate that it must have been frustrating at times so great perseverance 🎉 how good that you now have a wearable after putting SO many hours into it! Your original squares were awesome considering you were a beginner! X
Awh thank you so much my sweet friend!! I agree , I was so impressed when inspecting these squares 😂❤ I’m so glad we were able to give it new life this week!🥰🖤🧡🤍
5’-10”?! I would’ve never guessed that! I have two granny square blankets that I refuse to finish bc I hate putting the granny squares together😩 One day I’ll finish them lol
Love this Halloween cardigan. Love your videos I’m a beginner you really do a great job.🎃 amazing you started in 2021. Gives me hope. Love this idea dying to see how it turns out. Love all of your wearables. ❤️❤️❤️🎃🎃🎃😁😁👍
I love the idea of doing a project flip!! This is so adorable, good job! 👻 🎃 I’m working on a boring waffle knit cardigan right now haha! Project fails happen! Glad you figured it out . One time I made a huge blanket out of granny squares , and after I already made all the squares and started sewing I realized I did the squares wrong … so I had to take the entire blanket apart and redo like 80 squares. It sucked but I’m glad I did it in the end .
That turned out SOOOO cute-ah! i absolutely love all the color! For me, it has just the right amount of bright colors. Any less, and the sweater, for me, would be just okay. Since it DOES have the balanced amount of bright colors, I find it to be "A Graveyard Smash"!
Me trying to figure out why my living room suddenly looks huge with you sitting on the floor about 16 minutes in. The carpet. We have the same carpet. 😆 Which is extra funny because I was debating getting new carpet but getting the same thing again...
Stoppppp! That’s hilarious!!! I’ll say, my husband insisted on this carpet color and I believe he made the right choice. Because now I just simply love it!😂❤
Heyy love this sweater, I wish I would of made one this year but it slipped my mind, I think I'm going to make a Christmas one tho! I keep you updated :) But I think I might, I'll have to get a lot of yarn, I'm plus size and have never made a wearable for myself, I always made for my kids LOL But I love this video!! I also cant wait till thursday!!
All I know is that I love all of the Halloween granny squares. Seriously! Those are so freaking cute. Did you follow patterns or just create those? Just love .
I don’t think you should sell it, I think you should keep it as a momento to show how your skills have grown! And also obviously you should wear it at Halloween ❤❤
Totally a girl math moment 😂😂😂 Nah fr i feel like my favorite projects are the ones i improvised to fix 😅 I had a halloween balaro top using Hobbi yarn that the pourposely never have enough of in stock. So i just had 1 skein. My sleeves came up so short bec my bf convinced me i needed the shirt part to be longer. Needless to say he got btched at for that advice 😂😂 I ended up putting in a lifeline and cutting the bottom of it off. Smth iv never done before but saw on a hack video. It totally worked. And my sleeves came.l up long enough tjat i didnt mind finishing with black 3 weight HL yarn. Its one of my favorite tops and iv been living in it 😂😂😂
Have you sold the Halloween cardigan. Just finished watching video. I kept thinking I hope she sells it. Let me know if still available- I want it. ❤❤❤
