My yarn arrived last week and I started this blanket yesterday! The colorways are stunning! In 49 yrs of crocheting, I have made many blankets, scarves, totes, etc....with the granny pattern. I never tire of it. I have only 2 blankets in the pattern because I have always given everything away! Not this one! Thank you, Anja! I have been fighting a horrible diagnosis this past year and so far, I am winning the fight. I don't know what I would have done with Anja and other excellent and professional knitters and crocheters on RU-vid. My heart aches for Melanie Hamm. Yes. The one I am finishing is similar in size but I gravitate to bright colors. I loved how you rotated a palette of more subdued colors. Also, I never have done the join as you go and want to try that for my next one.

i liked the way you had two baskets and moved them when you were done with a round, the simplicity of it and joining as you go is a better way than waiting til all squares are finished. I certainly do not need to crochet another blanket but grannies are so beautiful. Thanks Anya for sharing yours. It's beautuful♥

Having seen your Jan 30 Sunday Live, I think I picked up a hint... Am I correct that one needs to use the three border colors on the lower-numbered granny rounds? If true, what is the suggested 'highest number", to have the best shot at having enough yarn for the border???? I am IN LOVE with that border!!!

I think there are many users they will Start to crochet with this blanket, BUT there are Not realy know howe to make a grannysquare so that it will be rightangled, do you know what i mean🙈. In the yarn pack is there a colour recipe for the squares? I know that you say that they're random but some colors just don't look good together 🤣😂 and if I'm being absolutely honest I'm rubbish at picking out colors.
I think the beauty of these wonderful colours is that they will all look good next to each other, sometimes planning the colour order can be difficult and take time and fun out of a project, I’ve made granny squares with my scraps and just doing a random dip has produced some lovely colour combination.
I would love to make this! If I made a twin size, how many yards of yarn do you think I would need? This is so beautiful and I absolutely love the border!
