@@erinAP98 I think I figured it out - or at least what I have been using 😅 I don't think it's exactly what she did in the video but I like how it looks! (A is the heart color, B is background) Ch1 and turn at the end of each row Start in color B Ch 21 1. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, hdc straight across (20 hdc) 2. hdc straight across 3. B9, A1, B10 4. B8, A4, B8 5. B6, A7, B7 6. B5, A10, B5 7. B3, A 13, B4 Rows 8-10 are the same: B2, A16, B2 11. B2, A7, B1, A8, B2 12. B3, A5, B4, A5, B3 Rows 13-14 hdc straight across 20 hdc Border: ch 1, turn, sc around all 4 edges. (3sc for every 2 hdc rows, so you should end up with 21sc on the sides) Hope that helps 😊

It's chain 21 plus one chain to start a new row.

Uk at first doing these stitches might look very uneven but trust me if you're doing all the steps correctly just keep going and at the end you will be satisfied because in the beginning it really looks uneven and distorted just do the steps correctly 👍🏻

Yes I have the same issue.. I guess the count is not right.. it's either not 21 in the beginning or the stitch where we start the new colour (for heart) should be from a different stitch.. I just went thru the written pattern and it's slightly different from the one in the video.. try following the written one and see if that works.. happy crocheting :)

i switched to a smaller hook and that helped me :)

I have the same problem 😩 after an hour of trying to do this it looks wonky

when you do a half double crochet you have to chain two not one. so if you want it to be 21 stitches wide, you have to chain 23 for the starting chain. then chain 2 before every row.

for those who are still confused, just chain 22 for the 1st row then follow the rest of the written pattern. hope this helps! 🫶🏻
