This is lovely. Your methodical voice is nice, well constructed, maybe not for total newbies but it’s def beginner level. Only part I got confused is working on second strand, I thought you said, to do the 2 together dbl crochet at the beginning but then you did a standard dbl crochet, could be me 😬 very happy tho, this is perf 😉 thank you for gifting us this creating plant hanger! 🙏🏻
@juliepiper7058
@juliepiper7058 9 месяцев назад
Okay, I think I answered my own question, in the beginning of row 1 on the strand you consider the chain 2 + the next dbl crochet = “two together” and at the end of row 1 you do a 2 together in the last 2stitches, where you pull up two loops, go to the last stitch and pull up looos, then the 3 loops to finish. so i was confused at first. You have two different versions of what you call, ‘two together” 15:54 of video.

I went wrong somewhere and my two sides were not equal in width or length! Lol. I just added to the length and hung it anyways. You can't really tell because you can't see both sides at the same time!

Maybe I missed it in this video, but I really wish the people giving these tutorials would state how much yarn we'll need to complete a project. At least that way we could make sure we had enough of whatever color we're using before we start the project. That being said, this is an awesome project and I can't wait to make it.

Thank you so much for this video, you are a doll. I appreciate your help so much. My daughter wants me to make her one and for some reason she thinks I'm creative enough to come up with my own pattern 😂 I'm so thankful for you hun! I just shared this video on Pinterest. I hope it helps your channel in some kind of way. Have a beautiful night ❤️

@@OmiCrochet I have a question, I'm so sorry to bother you. I'm a self-taught crocheter. So I am still learning. My question is at approximately 8:28 the video, you say, put the double crochet in the first Stitch,. In any pattern no matter who writes it, is that always called the first Stitch and if somebody wants it in the same stitch for instance as the chain 2 , would it be called the same Stitch or the first Stitch? That is something I've never been certain of. But then again I'm relatively new to crocheting. I must say this pattern is so pretty because in your circle you don't see the slip Stitch join. I've done circles with the join and you see it every time. Is this because you turn it? So sorry for going on and on. I also just wanted to tell you you look so grateful when you crochet. I look like I'm hanging onto the last turkey drumstick at Thanksgiving dinner when I crochet 😂 I'm amazed at how you hold the crochet hook. Did somebody teach you or you self-taught? Lastly, I have to give a shout out to your husband and the Beautiful woodwork he does. He must be an artist!

@@OmiCrochet I'm so sorry, I promise this will be my last time asking you a question. I've just started the hangar and since it's an 18in basket that's going in it, I am going to make the circle larger. So with this would I do one increase on each row until the desired size? I truly mean it I won't trouble you anymore. Have a beautiful day ❤️

@@ritawashere5787 So when I work in the round and turn my work, I personally do not like to put the first stitch in the same stitch as the chain. I think it looks better to start in the next stitch (Which is what I’m calling the first stitch) and i think that it makes the seam less noticeable. If I was not turning my work, I typically would count the stitch with the chain as the first stitch. A lot of patterns are different, but be a little rebel and do it the way you like to do it, just keep it consistent throughout. And no need to apologize for the questions, they are great and I am happy to help! Too funny about the drumstick! Hahaha! My grandma taught me how to crochet when I was young and I am very thankful for that, I really really really love to crochet! :) Thanks for the shout out to my hubby, he makes amazingly beautiful pieces. He has been a woodworker since he was very young. His father was the head carpenter at the White House, I believe for president Reagan. So he had a pretty legit teacher!as for the 18in basket, yes I would do one or two more increase rounds. So round five would be dc in the first 3 stitches then 2 dc in the next, repeat that pattern all the way around. Round 6, dc in the first 4 stitches then in the 5th stitch place 2 dc, repeat all the way around. And again, no need to apologize for reaching out! :)

@@OmiCrochet thank you so much. I really appreciate it. You're a fantastic teacher. I think the way you on the work on the circle and the way you do the first steps of the rounds definitely makes the circle look fantastic. Otherwise I found for me, I always see where my circle begins and ends. I would definitely say your husband had a legit teacher. Phenomenal! Thank you again ❤️ have a beautiful day.

You have to just start crocheting she goes over it, the first strand transitions into a strand, then she shows you tad to add on the others. If you watch the video as you go along all questions are answered

@OmiCrochet
@OmiCrochet 2 года назад
You sure can! I have made many of these plant hangers in different yarns, 4 weights, bulky 5s. They all turned out great. Just keep in mind that he thicker the yarn is, the bigger the hanger will turn out. Thanks for watching! :)

@OmiCrochet 2 года назад
Are you going to use the jute with the red heart? If so, yes go up a hook size. As far as a price goes…I wish I could give you a solid answer…I know some people charge by the hr plus cost of materials, some people charge 3x cost of materials.

@@OmiCrochet I would be using just the regular red heart 4ply worsted weight yarn.
