Happy Birthday, Christa, may you live to be a Hundred-with prosperity, good health, and showers of blessing from the Almighty. May all your roads rise up to meet you and live as long as you want (by the grace of God, of course). I wish you all the best. I love watching you on RU-vid (which I subscribe to). May the good Lord bless you and keep you and yours. Have fun. God bless. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, again.
Love the poncho! I think I'd love it in grey and turquoise. Love your family! What a great outing! I love the podcasts on Wednesday. I can enjoy you on my day off with some coffee and my crochet. Still making circles! I've got 22 done. Think I'm going to take this day completely off and just make circles!
Hello from Georgia, USA. My name is Lynn I've been watching you videos for about two weeks and I love how you make crocheting fun and easy. I also love hearing you birds in the background. They are very pretty and so is your yarn and the things you make with them.
I was laughing when you played mailman and drove half on and off the road. I can't wait for the Double Daisy blanket 😍😍😍 I just love it so Thank you in advance for doing a tutorial on it. I'm loving my Polka Dot blanket so far and can't wait for the border. The poncho is gorgeous and it looks like it would be so nice to wear, another item to look forward to making. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us😊💖
And tell hubby Yes people watch this thing we l❤ve Christa and Kavita. Christa is a beautiful person, funny and a excellent crocheter. She and Kavita together are a trip, totally funny a hoot as she says. And thanks in a big part from Christa as she has shared a lot about the place she loves! Have a good day! Luv yah 💕
I was thinking of primary colors something festive maybe for fall or even Christmas. I like what you used for the shawl. I so enjoyed your outing with the family. It was wonderful hearing the children laugh and happy. Shows that they are loved and taught to respect each other and honor their parents. I noticed when father said that they should quite down there was no argument they just did what they were told. HAPPY Belated Birthday to you and Kaveta ( probably spelled it wrong)!!! I turned 62 in August. There's a level up. Hope you both Bo had a great day. Hopefully can catch live chat this week. Looks like you are staying really HOOKED! I want to do the dot blanket and the poncho that you are working on. See you soon. Good night from Texas.
Happy UNbirthday, Christa, as you must be about midway between your birthdays! Any excuse for a celebration. .. right!? 👍🍰🎁💌🎈🎂 That was a massive drive to check out such expensive, but dilapidated classrooms! EEEK! At least it was a great family day exploring the country. Your kids travel really well & sound delightful. ☺ Thanks for taking me with you! 🚗🚚🚛🌳🌳 Love the poncho! Just tonight I remembered that I have a shawl that I knitted about 30 years ago on wooden broomstick needles my dear Dad made for me!!! I've tied it in front & it's perfect for these cooler Autumn nights, as sweaters are too warm. So thanks for the reminder. Gotta make me a poncho.... after the ruana shawl! Blessings. Kerryn 💛💙💟🐨
Hi, Kimmy P! How's you?? It's crazy, right?? It's like everyone is a drunk driver except for you - not in real life, but that's how defensively you have to drive. lol XX!
Insanity! It's like driving in NYC but really fast! 😳😂 I'm okay 👌 Thanks! dropped of some chemo hats during some testing yesterday (boo) I should have taken some pictures of them, I will next batch. The whole office & waiting room were so excited & it made my heart so full. 💜 Totally different when you're handing them to the people that are going to use them. 💜
Awww, love your little piece of Alberta in Kenya! 🇨🇦🌲🇰🇪 That poncho is fab! 😍 I will definitely be making that and the double daisy blanket when your tutorials are released. Thanks for another great podcast 💕
Christa, thank you so much for the video and sharing your delightful family. The poncho is lovely. The blankets are great. It's really difficult to pick a color for the next poncho but really like the variated yarns. I really love the "level up" concept. Happy belated level up day!!🎈🎉 I level up this month as well. Thank u again!
Happy belated birthday to you. 🎉 I never thought that schools could be sooo expensiv. One child costs more per year than we have for living with two persons.
Thanks, Peggy Demolli. I totally agree!! I try to not add up what I have paid in school fees... it's pretty much like college/university from Kindergarten onward. Yikes!! xx
I can't wait to make a crown for my level up. Looooove the poncho!!!! I think you should do blues or purples. Bummer on the....oh gosh I can't believe you can use the shoulder of the road to pass...your husband is funny!!!! Lmao maybe we can get a camel..he immediately says NO!!! Haha
Hi, Raquel! Don't joke - I try every chance I get! Hopefully by the time I find some animal I really want I can remind him I didn't INSIST on getting that camel way back when. Been trying for a baby donkey for about a year now... batting zero for that one. HA HA HA!!! xx!!
Hi from Nevada, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! sorry I missed the live chat to send many happy returns on your special day. The poncho looks wonderful. I love the yellow color. I think it would look good in black and white too.
Love your poncho. I always try to have a snood with my poncho so that when it is very cold, it looks better than a scarf. But if it's a bit warmer, then I just take the snood off.
Enjoyed watching your video! Love the poncho! Would love a tutorial on it. Your family is so much fun to listen to. Everyone was having such a great time. Thanks for all you do. I’m looking forward to your next video!
Hope you had a wonderful Birthday. Your crown was very nice. I missed the camel's, but could see the zebra's. I love the poncho the colors are beautiful. Maybe you can find an acrylic in similar colors. I liked the pattern as well! I think if you have room and can handle the up keep Alpaca would be great then you could make your own hand died yarn... Heeheehaha
Hi, Trish Sgambelluri! Camels totally blend in. Thankfully one of my 5 year old spotted them, or we would have missed them too! I would LOVE alpacas.... sigh... xx!!
Oh my gosh, that crown is a riot! We ALL need one, lol! Love the poncho: I would love to make one in a regular worsted, just to use up some of my stash. Yours looks super snuggly though. Take care! Jenn
Happy belated birthday. I celebrated mine the weekend before. What a pretty poncho. I love using DK yarn because I find it lays better. However I made one with the Red heart Ombre yarn. The changes with this yarn is gorgeous. Also the new Lion Brand Cofy Cotton Blend is beautiful. It is limited in colors.
Hi, Karen Hickey! Genius, right??? I could NEVER celebrate "birthdays"... just seems so "Oh please wish me a happy birthday". Ugh! But Level Up?? It's our JOB to promote that terminology!! ha ha ha!! ;) xx!
Happy belated birthday, glad you had such a fun time & were so spoiled :) I really enjoy watching your podcasts, such fun :) I'm Julie from Staffordshire UK :) xx
Such beautiful crochet work & your family is such a delight. Love hearing the kids laughter & your husband sounds amusing & sweet, just like yourself. 💖💖💖
So funny CajunQueen! You are SO kind. I read your comment to my husband and he scoffed, "If she only knew." HA HA HA!! No - he IS sweet, really. :) xx!!
Everything looks great. You are so talented. I would like to see the poncho done in acrylic 4 ply worsted weight yarn. I love the colors yours is in. I will start looking for yarn here. I really like the leveling up idea. Thank you for sharing with us
I would love to see the poncho done in some pinks, teals, or purples, but with wheat colors flowing through. And please let me know when you start the poncho!
Love both blankets! Love the poncho too! I am thrilled you were spoiled :) You would think with the tuition cost they would update the classrooms! Thank you for sharing!
Hi, Michelle!! I DID!! I told him. He's coming around. Guess it's a strange thing when your wife's hobby morphs into "strangers" coming along on our family outings! But the birthday presents speak volumes... :D xx!!
Hi Christa! Happy birthday 🎂. I love your poncho and the wool you used. Wish i could get a similar colour combination here in Queensland, Australia. Definately will put this on my to do list. I love the verigated colours in yarn, as the pattern is such a surprise and every time you do some more it is a new surprise!
Hi, Tracey!! I love variegated yarn too! So motivational to use. Perhaps we can do a yarn swap when you come for the Crochet Vacay in February!! :D xx!
Happy belated birthday I already wished you earlier but it was before your birthday. You are such a busy girl I sat last night crocheting watching your videos for 6 hours thanks your fantastic I think you should make that one again it’s beautiful
I watch most of your videos. I may not catch it live, but I really enjoy your content. I crochet, but am not able to follow a written pattern. Happy Birthday!
Love the crown needed one last year when I turned 50 a big happy birthday to you hope you had a great day x love the poncho how about a cashmere x I can not believe you have done two blankets do you ever sleep lol x 😀
Hi krista, can't wait for the tutorial on the poncho its beautiful, i so enjoy your trips you take us along with you on, thank you for sharing. Your children and your husband seem very nice. Do you get to visit your parents very often?
Hi, Sandy Goodwin! Thanks so much! My dad lived here for many years, and just moved back to Canada a couple years ago. Now he visits once or twice a year. :D
😍 the poncho! Do a popcorn, then a tassel, repeat for the border. It’d look so boho 😊 Ps Dayton is in Ohio. And yes those were pine trees 🌲 not eucalyptus.
Great idea Lisa!! Apparently the trees were Cypress. Which I should have thought of, since the only readily available timber here is either mahogany or cypress. 0-o
Well happy birthday then Krista if I would have known that I would have told you happy birthday earlier I just turned 60 myself on September 15th time flies when you're having fun huh :-)
Could you do tutorials on the chainless foundation chains? Pretty please?😆 I've tried the single and double crochet ones and just can't get them figured out. Ugh! ❤ you! Love the poncho too! Teams, grays, and creams would be gorgeous! Holy cow! Those drivers! Geesh!
I love your poncho!! The color way is amazing! I'm working on a poncho made from Mandala yarn and I can't wait until it's finished. I think you should make another one using sun colors like yellow, gold, orange, red, etc. What do you think??
Are there a lot of road accidents people seem a little crazy when their out and about and I love the fact your husband is surprised that we would want to actually watch this lol 😂
Love the poncho. I also love acrylic yarn. I like to be able to wash and dry things I make and I like to be as cruelty free as possible, so I steer clear of the animal fibers. I would make a poncho in a wheat or oatmeal colored yarn like Vanna's Choice by Lion Brand. That way it would go with everything. I can't even begin to imagine paying that kind of money to send my kids to school. I would expect quite lot at those prices. Yikes! I homeschooled my children and that worked out well for us. Happy Belated Birthday Day.
Awe! Thank you so much, Storybook Stitchery! Love those ideas. Yeah - school fees are crazy. You just accept it here - like it's normal. But for the prices, I DO expect my children to be taught. When my daughter was in kindergarten - half days - 17,000 USD - I lost it when she came home saying they watched a Disney movie. Whaaaaaaaaat??? $23 an hour... hour and half movie? I paid $35 for her to watch a movie?? REALLY???? Might or might not have lost my poop. ;) xx
Hey Krista, happy belated birthday see you are a October baby also mine is October 13th will be 63. Love your poncho the colors are beautiful. Tell your husband YES we do watch your tours, so great I live in Maine about 45 miles East of Perth Andover New Brunswick, go there often to a little log cabin ice xrean stand that makes the best fish and chips. Oh got off track love your tours can sit in my easy chair and I feel am with you in the car, thank you for sharing. As always love, laughter and happy crafting
I am not a poncho person but I tell ya if I had THAT yarn I'd so make me one and I'd WEAR it, that yarn is the most gorgeous yarn ever, and that dark purple is my birthstone hehehe just love it. I told you happy b day on the live but happy belated bday, I know I'm late but I'm just getting to watch the videos. HugsXXX
