Learn how to crochet slipper boots. They are warm and cozy, perfect for cold mornings.
Stitches used: sc - single crochet,
slip stitch
ch - chain
dec (decrease) - single crochet 2 together
Size: Sole of this slipper measures 26 cm long. It fits 38-39 size, it's USA size 8
You will need: 1 ball bulky weight yarn
6 mm crochet hook
Gauge: 10 stitches and 14 rows = 10 cm
The slippers are made in two separate pieces - the upper and the sole.
I found the written pattern here: www.smpcraft.co...
I made another video with same pattern, but with voice instructions and slower speed for beginner crocheters. Check out: • crochet slipper boots ...

Ani...you did a great job on this tutorial!! Getting to see what the instep section looked like visually made so much more sense then how it was worded in the written pattern. I've made these and they came out perfect. I used the 7mm hook that the designer called for in the pattern with Bernat Chunky yarn in Grey Heather & it was perfect for my size (US) women's 8-9. Thanks again for such a helpful video =)

I just made one slipper. Great video. Easy to follow. Appreciate it. I used Bernat Softee Chunky yarn in grey and a size K crochet hook and I'm guessing it came out a size 7 or so (US). @AniTugushi
@AniTugushi 8 лет назад
Hi. You can alter the length of the foot by working fewer or more rows within the straight sole (and top of foot) section. For smaller size take out few chains from the width of the sole, and few stitches from the top of the foot. You can also change the size by using thinner yarn and smaller crochet hook. For example, I made these baby slipper boots with this pattern ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nt1PeiRfeQE.html

also take out few chains from the width and length of the sole, and few stitches from the top of the foot. If you are making these for your own feet, I suggest measuring your feet in many areas. Make your slippers to match those measurements. amount of stitches you start with, is circumference of open section of slipper.

How do I go about making these in a bigger size? How many more rows do I add before starting to decrease? Or is there a certain step where I would add rows!? Thank you!!
@AniTugushi
@AniTugushi 7 лет назад
First chain is circumference of open section. By adding rounds you add height of your slipper. Then comes instep part, by adding stitches, you add width. By adding more rows you add length to hole slipper. Measure your foot in different places and adjust the size by adding and removing stitches, rounds and rows. Can't tell more specifically, as each foot and each yarn differ.

@AniTugushi 7 лет назад
It depends what size you want. I think, with medium yarn and 4 mm crochet hook it will be child size. First chain is circumference of open section. By adding rounds you add height of your slipper. Then comes instep part, by adding stitches, you add width. By adding more rows you add length to hole slipper. Measure child's foot in different places and adjust the size by adding and removing stitches, rounds and rows. I waited some time before getting the courage to try again. I still have this question. Maybe someone could clarify 😀. Is the slip stitch, the chain and the sc in that same space part of the total 31 or separate? Did that make sense lol ? Thx

After slip stitch you should have 31 stitches total.
@rrnettie28
@rrnettie28 7 лет назад
Ani Tugushi so I think I'll seek professional help - either crochet or psychiatric lol. Please remember I'm knew at this and RU-vid taught :). So, if I understand correctly, it is separate. There are 31 stitches and then the slip, chain and AC into that stitch. I hope that's right. Thanks for the attempt to help :)

I'm a beginner so maybe a dumb question but when you first start with 31 chains, do you always end up with 31 sc at the beginning? If I tried just crocheting to the beginning it was more each row and began flaring out. If I counted to 31 sc I did not make it to the end?

+Lori Lathrop Hello, it's a good question. When you start with 31 chain, at the end of every round you should have 31. You are making somewhere extra stitch. I think, you are making extra single crochet in slip stitch. After making 31 sc in each stitch, skip last stitch (this is slip stitch of previous round) and slip stitch in first sc (not in chain 1!). Use stitch marker, it will help. It's so hard for me to explain it in English, hope this helps. I found good article about it: www.lookatwhatimade.net/crafts/yarn/crochet/crochet-tutorials/how-to-crochet-in-the-round-spiral-vs-joining/

Oops, also when it says 31 st, do I start counting with the sc created when I joined or the stitch after that? I keep having more than 31 so that's another problem I have to work out :) lol.

+rrnettie28 Just start counting with first sc, do not count joined stitch or chain 1

Does this slipper fit any size shoe? I wear a 9-9 1/2, will it fit my foot?
@AniTugushi

+Jaylynn Reid Hi, yes, it will fit 9-9 1/2 size. But if you want to change size in written pattern: www.smpcraft.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/slipper-boots.pdf there is instructions for sizing, scroll down to the box that says "Masterclass"

hiya how many chains would i need to make them boots for a one year old plz
@AniTugushi

HI, I made this boot for 6 month baby and chained 21 at the beginning, but I used medium yarn and 4 mm crochet hook. I think, if you use thicker yarn, it will be perfect for one year old. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nt1PeiRfeQE.html

Does anyone have the written pdf pattern? The domain name has expired and it is no longer available.

Maybe someone can help me. I'm new to crocheting so it could seem like a silly question to some. At the end of a round it says to join with the first sc. Which is the first sc? Is it the one that was done in the space of where it was joined in the previous round (or at the beginnings) or is it the stitch right after that? I guess I have a hard time whenever any pattern says to make a stitch into a particular stitch (sc or dc or whatever) in the previous round. Thanks :)

+Ani Tugushi (Turtle Whicky) oh thank you so much for taking time to reply. That is exactly what I was thinking that I should do but I was confused because after we join we make a chain and then we make a sc in that space. The sc in that space made me wonder if that's where I joined in the next round and if it was counted. So even though we join, chain 1 and sc in the join space, that sc is kind of separate and not counted or used to do the join on the next round. You might have to read that slowly. I'm always confused and confusing since I'm new at this. Thank you again so much ;)

Hiya, Roughly how many grams of yarn did you use for each/individual slipper boot?
@AniTugushi
@AniTugushi 5 лет назад
I don't know, maybe 70 gr? You will need two skeins, but it depends on yarn
