Introducing the playful and kid friendly blanket called Spiderweb Blanket from Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts.
This is a 12 point ripple afghan coloured to appear like a spiderweb. With an added overlay afterwards to create the lines that jet out from the center.
This afghan is 55" diameter and has 3 sections of blue, 3 sections of red with white rounds to separate them out to create the illusion of a web. Then top off with finishing touches. This is using the new Bernat Blanket Brights Yarn. It is vibrant and super soft. These would make nice gifts for someone you love.

Gonna make this as a Christmas present for my cat. She's 8 years old and handled moving to the mountains like a champ. Making mine in all blue with grey heather trim. It's been years since I gave her a Christmas gift since I haven't been spending it with her for a good number of years, but we share a room now, so I'd say it's time she got a Christmas gift from me.

@@TheCrochetCrowd Update: I lost the original blanket and started on a new one in blue and red, but without the white. I put my progress in one of her favorite spots to nap on my bed. She investigated the blanket and refuses to even sit on it. Since she doesn't want it, I think I'll be keeping it for myself and making it bigger.

@@TheCrochetCrowd Another Update: Back when I was working on it, I left it in front of my pillow. She fell in love with it while I was running errands. Gave it to her as a Christmas gift and she loved it. However, we have since moved. Now she only hangs out on my bed and only spends time on her blanket while she's eating as her food and water bowls are right next to said blanket.

Valerie Friel I'm making one in bernat and one in Caron (1 lb skein) I bought 1 of each color in Caron and am using a 6.5mm hook and am just going until I run out of yarn or I reach 55" in diameter. Since I also make spiderman dolls I'm not worried about having extra yarn but I'll try to remember to post how much I used.

Mikey! HELP PLEASE..PLEASE HELP! :'( I'M WATCHING YOUR VIDEO ON THE ..It's light green to dark.. white..dark purple to light..white..etc. Was given pattern(online) for Spiderman blanket. However a written out.. confusing! Was told to follow your video I mentioned. Doing great however adding the black line( sc) between red& blue I'm stuck! Just found this video not quite the same as other pattern. Can you help me..I need this...for CHRISTMAS =-O By the way..just started crochet again after many MANY yrs and you've made almost everything Soo easy. Lol stuck need to undressed a cpl small points out(following the pattern I mentioned just not sure where a cpl things are actually connected. I'm making it hard in fear to messing it up. Yes, just change your hook to match the sizing recommended on the ball band.

Hello Mikey is there a way I can get the hole pattern ? I'm trying to make this Spiderweb Blanket for my great nice I love this pattern. I have the graphic chart and I got as far as the 16th row then I get confused because I have dyslexia and I don't compute things if I don't see them. I would love to make a 12 start blanket instead of a 8 star blanket. Thank you for sharing a great pattern

I'm not sure... The gauge of the yarn is completely different than this. This is Super Bulky Yarn and Caron Simply Soft is Medium Weight.

Wait, is how he changed colors how you're SUPPOSED to change colors, or just for this video? Because my mother taught me to just tie it to your previous color, cut that color off, and then continue with the new one.

Usually you don't tie the strings together. But do what you know and feel comfortable with.

There is no RIGHT way. I've seen it done many different ways. I always tie mine, but I then blend it in. Everyone does it differently.

Bernat Blanket can hide stitches due to the fluff. It may not be your fault if you cannot see exactly where to go.

Yes for sure... just ensure the yarn recommendation hook size is followed. It will prevent buckling then. :D

I used smaller yarn, and a smaller hook - it looks great. Just adjust your hook to your yarn.

Yes, you can use the yarn of choice. Just make sure the hook size matches your yarn. It will tell you on the ball band the recommended hook size for that yarn.

I’m a entire beginner I just learned to do a granny square 3 days ago and from this Tutorial I’ve made it to row 7 but I’m very thrown off by you saying single crochet and then doing what I believe is a double crochet. I may be confused on my terms? Can someone confirm or correct me? I don’t want to have to restart 😩

it's very possible that my mouth is doing opposite to what my hands are doing. In watching the camera, doing the work and so forth, it may just be me mispronouncing the stitch. I'm sorry about that.

@@Me-dc9vr I just figured mine out if you ever revisit this project my mess up was not skipping enough stitches in the dip ins! You should only have 4 doubles going up and 4 going down on row 9 not counting the point stitches
