OMG!!! This was so easy and you explained it so beautifully. I immediately started making them in different colors and will buy some towels to match. I'm giving mine to the disabled seniors in my community for Mother's Day. I will be making dishcloths to go with them. Be Blessed.

Can I just say...WOW!!!! I have been making towel toppers for a while from another tutorial and while it "worked" I never loved it. It took forever, the weaving in of all the loose ends... it just left me feeling insecure about gifting them. This idea is a complete game changer! So easy, so fast, so cute, so interchangeable! I love it! Thank you!

Aw thanks for your kind words! It really means a lot to me! I prefer this version instead of crocheting on the actual towel itself as it's easier to switch everything out and they last longer (in my opinion).

It worked perfectly for me. I'm fairly new to crochet. I was able to make two of these today. The first one was o.k. I still tend to to have tight stitches so I tried it again going up a size a little on my hook. The second one turned out much better. Now I just need to pick up some buttons so I can finish it up.
@AmandaCrochets
@AmandaCrochets 4 года назад
@@julies5515 That's great! I'm glad you gave this a try and it worked out for you. Sometimes going up a hook size as a beginner can help with your tension. There is so much to learn as a beginner! I'm still learning so much about different stitches! Happy crocheting :)

Hi Amanda Great tutorial, thank you so much. Do you sell the towel topper with or without the towel? I saw that you sell them for $5 and that's why I'm asking.
@AmandaCrochets
@AmandaCrochets 4 года назад
Michelle Townsend hello! Yes I do sell these with the towel included. I get most if not all of my towels from the dollar store or multipacks on sale. I sell other character versions for $12 with the towel. These prices may not work for every area, but I’ve found that they’ve worked for me.

hi Amanda, when you go to a craft show what do you take to sell?how much do you sell items for?
@AmandaCrochets
@AmandaCrochets 5 лет назад
Nancy Strand it depends on the season but usually dishcloths, towel toppers, hats and scarves. I price things according to the area I’ll be in, but usually anywhere from $2-$40 depending on what it is.

When you are first doing the double crochet it would help if you do at least 10 or so in a slower motion. 1 wasn't quite enough.

How do I keep my yarn flat at the corners? One end always curls and won’t lay flat.
@AmandaCrochets
@AmandaCrochets 3 года назад
With single crochet, it tends to curl up a little. I usually wet block my project to help it to lie flat. To do so, you will spray your project with some cold water and pin it flat to dry. This should help a little.

It's real quick to make and very simple..but the strap is way too short for a good amount of oven door handles. A good four more rows in sc to extend will be a great fit.

Hello Amanda I am new to your channel and happy to find you. Love this tutorial and my one question is can a plastic ring be used in place of the hair tie? thank you for sharing and have a wonderful day.

Hi Virginia! Thanks for following! I hope you enjoy the content I put out. To answer your question, yes, you can use a plastic ring instead of a hair tie. I think someone also mentioned using a metal ring (bracelet) as well. Thanks for reaching out. Happy crocheting!
