1st attempt. Love your channel. I was never able to read patterns before you taught me. My great grandmother taught me to crochet. She also taught my daughter. How many people can say they were taug&t by their great great grandmother. She died in 2000, and we're trying to keep her memory alive. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I used size 5 bulky yar and a size 6mm needle instead so I added more rows. I also found that the twist did not look right so I twisted it in a spot that looked the best and put a few stitches using a needle to hold. turned out great.

I find this very easy to watch, but when I attempted it, I started to get confused! I used a very thin thread so maybe that’s why mine came out looking different. Awesome teaching!
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 5 лет назад
Imagine working in a figure 8 instead of a normal circle. It's tricky on the mind. But if you learn this technique, you can turn into so many cool creations. Check this hat made from the same twist. It a more advance pattern but a great example of the twist ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-K9oXz7onCMM.html

@Littlejohn’s I know my other post I said how easy. I said that because I watched your tutorial twice and just knew I could do this. I had right yarn and hook and gave it a go and it just didn’t work out as well as yours. I don’t know what I did wrong. I plan on getting the color you used. I used a bark navy blue..maybe I missed a stitch or two. I so want to make a few as gifts!
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 6 лет назад
sorry i missed your question. Are you usin a bulky yarn? Numbers don't matter in this pattern. Chain enough to fit around your head. Make sure the chain is loose ( another person in comments used a Sc foundation chain). Because once you start your Dc round the begining chain my get tight. Your will end up with a little gap when you start to crochet in the round. But it will be hidden once you add more rows. let me know if you have anymore question. I'll be glad to help
@LITTLEAIKENFAN
@LITTLEAIKENFAN 6 лет назад
Littlejohn's Yarn ...yes same yarn and hook size you used. My yarn was a dark navy blue! Maybe my crochet is tighter than it should be. I’ll try again. Thanks !

Hi Alysha. I love this pattern. I am wanting to make one for an 11 year old girl. How could .i make it a bit smaller? Also I think a knitting worsted yarn would suit her better
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 6 лет назад
Cheryl Loaring using worsted weight yarn. Chain stitch enough for fit around the 11 yr olds head. Chained amount depends on child head size. Then just follow the same exact pattern😘
@cherylloaring2016
@cherylloaring2016 6 лет назад
Littlejohn's Yarn thanks which crochet hook size do you think?
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 6 лет назад
Cheryl Loaring size 5mm Hook
@cherylloaring2016
@cherylloaring2016 6 лет назад
I want to make this for my daughter. The circumference of her head is 20". You said you were chaining 43 for yours. My head is 22" in circumference. Why do you chain so many?
@LittlejohnsYarn
@LittlejohnsYarn 6 лет назад
Cheryl Loaring in the video I'm using a 6.5 hook and bulky yarn. 43 chain stitches to fit around my head & my head is 21 inches. The stitches count does not matter. Chain enough to fit around her head comfortably. If u use worsted weight yarn, u will probably have more chain stitches than 43
