My grandmother taught me how to crochet when we were kids, and used to spend vacation with them, and now that I’ve been spending so much time at home due to the current health concerns around the globe, I’ve been trying to remember how to work this craft. This is one of my favorite stitches for blankets. It works for any yarn weight. I love doing it with 3 weight yarn for spring and summer blankets. You inspire me to use a much bigger variety of stitches, but this is my favorite for t.v. tine or road trips. Love your channel!!

I think this is thr Lemon Peel Stitch... I use it for dishcloths., and it does make a nice, textured baby blanket. The texture is so nice..no holes, which is what you want for baby blankets. Edited to add thst I have made a bunch of baby blankets,,udingbthecLemonnPeflmStitch, and highly recommend it. I often use a #3 weight yarn..doubled.,,and an N hook.. The results are squishy, soft blankets. Perfect.

Putri Nabilah 29 it depends on the weight of yarn you use, really. For a baby blanket using a worsted/Aran yarn I would say about 1000-1200 yards. I used a sport weight and used about 1600 but it was quite a fine yarn. I’ve also used this pattern in a number 5 bulky yarn using about 1600 yards and made a throw blanket for my couch. But for your purposes I would say about 1000-1200!

@@SirinsCrochet i had a orange and white tom cat when i was younger. He had one blue and one green eye. We lived in an apartment. When joey started to purr, our neighbor knocked on the wall and told us to keep it down. Joey's purr was that loud.

I'm new to your Channel but I Love it . I couldn't crochet for a long time because of Carpal tunnel in both hands. It took me 7 months to make a blanket 4 years ago . I had surgery and now I'm looking for easy patterns to start again because I have two great-grandchildren on the way . This is not only easy it is beautiful . I am making this one right now and it is so beautiful! Thank you for the tutorial Sirin! The only suggestion I have for you is when you tell us which hook and the length etc. could you please also include the US numbers of the hooks and the inches etc. because in the US we don't use European milometers, centimeters, etc. That would be very helpful. I want to thank you for your gorgeous designs and wonderful tutorials! You do a great job!

Hi Nancy. Glad you like it. I was using inches when I gave the measurement. I always give it with inches. For the hook sizes, I will look for the American sizes. ❤❤

Hi Sirin, I struggle with crochet and knit, but I keep trying. I seem to get confused on which row I’m on when doing the crochet blankets, especially when I make a mistake and take out stitches. I had to rip out another blanket and now I’m trying this one. I’m writing down a row number as well as writing time stamps for each new row you do😜 Thanks for all your tutorials!

My cat is is bossy. If I am crocheting, he will meow at me until I stop and pay attention. Sometimes he will knock things out of my hands even. 😂 This is my favorite stitch pattern. I love the texture. I am using it for a pocket shawl right now. 🧶Great work, as usual. I am getting ready to make a blanket and I think I will do this, too. The chain can be whatever you want, as long as it is a odd number. I recomend using a measuring tape to measure your chain and get the perfect length which you desire. Good luck if you make this blanket, I am sure you will make it beautiful.

I just love 💗 this pattern. I just completed my blanket and just finished my first row of single stitches around the outside edge of the blanket. I am having difficult time seeing how you join the end together in order to start the shell pattern. I understand how to make the shell stitches. But your hand is slightly above the camera and cannot see how you are making the stitches. Can you recommend another one of your videos that will be easier to view how you join the end of row together and then start the row of shell stitches?

I've seen this stitch but this one looks different. Maybe because of the hook size. I like it fluffy like yours. I'll be making one with a size 7 hook on my medium weight yarn 4. Odd number and only 81 is perfect for a newborn baby. Thank you
