Thank you for helping me crocheting again! I'm 60yrs old, recently had left sided stroke - while at work! Crochet since I was 8yrs old, really missed it. Thank You for your teaching and patients with showing us your patterns!
This is STILL the absolutely BEST Granny Triangle Shawl tutorial. And., It always looks great🙃 I agree with doing an SC edging along the top only. It gives the shawl a nice finished look. I’m starting this shawl today... I bought three cakes of Lion Brand’s soft Comfy Cotton Blend, in the colorway Whipped Cream. It will be a gift for my nephew ‘s beautiful wife. It is 50% Cotton, and 50% polyester . Nice.
Spent good bit of time on youtube looking for this simple pattern. I'll dress it as I wish with my choice of yarn. I LOVE THE VARIETY OF PATTERNS YOU PRESENT. Thank you! You never let me down. (This will give me a break from baby hats. Much prefer working with 4 or 5 weight yarns.) ;)
I too hope he keeps making videos !! i have been crocheting for over 50 years too and learned more different ways and patterns of making other items . Enjoy your day and keep your needle handy for you may never know when he'll come up with another video !!
@@ireneahuna8526 Hi Irene, I see we have a common interest and would love you to look at my facebook page at SharonCat's Crochet and Crafts or at Sharon Cataldo Letson, not a sales site, but just sharing my past and current projects. Also I belong to Nothing But Crochet, friendly crochet group that shares patterns and photos of projects. I love the Fiber Spider and his naming us Yarnivores, lol. He's so cute and I love that men can also crochet and do needlecrafts. It's calming and keeps the peace, lol.
Love ❤️ this pattern. I have about 700 plus yards of yarn from my stash just waiting for a project like this. Planning on a Prayer shawl donation. Thank you for the easy to follow tutorial. 👍🏻
I just started making this shawl after seeing the pics Roselikescrochet posted on her Instagram. I came looking for it cause it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks 👍😊
I have a scrap ball the size of a basket ball and I was looking for a project to use it up. I think this one will do quite nicely! It may be a bit chaotic once it's finished, but it'll be nice and cozy for wearing around the house. Thank you!
ALWAYS enjoyed your videos on crocheting and wanted to let you know that i look forward to learning more from you........Thank YOU so much and keep crocheting ......Luv ya until next time take care and stay healthy !! ALOHA !!!!!!!
07-2-20 - Much later, and in the middle of a pandemic... I still love this pattern. I was just looking at granny stripe triangle Shaw’s, and this is still the easiest one.. One had you do the ending and beginning in a slightly more complicated way. I like the simplicity of this particular pattern, because the beginning and end grannies are so simple.. I generally like a sc edging..It looks so clean..
Thank you such so much for wonderful instructions on doing this shawl,., SUPER EASY. I’m making this for a friend who is on the large size so this is prefect., I will definitely follow you ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much for this tutorial . You explain very well ! 😊I’m a starter crochet and you give me a great pattern shawl ! I will do it for my mother 👍🏻🙋🏻♀️😊
Love love all of the cake yarn!!! This is the first video of yours that I have watched and it won't be the last. I agree with everyone else, it's very easy to follow along with you and your voice is nice to listen to. I am a self taught crocheter ( thanks to RU-vid ) of about 6 months. I am currently working on a shawl just like yours in similar colors from Hobby Lobby, Yarn Bee Sugarwheel in Bubblegum Trails. I love the color way. I too love grannies & caffeine. Your expression "yarnivores". Is priceless and I'm glad I am one.
I agree you make excellent videos and your voice is clear and relaxing and I could listen to you talk all day😀 I just went and bought the Caron cake yarn..omg what a adventure that was! ran over a deer tire back end off car grrrrrrrrrrrrrr, so this will be the one and only thing I make using this kind of yarn. it became very costly 😥
dena beyer I'm so terribly sorry to hear about your misadventure! I have many deer in my area, and I've had similar trouble. I'm just glad you are alright! As for your sweet comment, thank you oh so much! Doing these videos is actually a way for me to be more confident with my voice, as I don't like it much and am self conscious. If you want to just hear me, I have a lot of audiobook recordings in my other playlists. Hope you enjoy them, and continue to stay safe! 😉
I just got to say I love this pattern ... I made one for my friends wedding.. I have 2 others started.. Thank you so much.. I wish I could post a picture... Love your You Tube channel
Wow this video was so easy thank you I’m just getting started but I will post a picture of it when I’m finished again thank you fiber spider I love how easy your videos are even I can understand it 😃
" it's not a race" I remember asking my Father as a child what it took to be the official crocheter of Nascar. Anyone Wondering what his answer was " about a million dollars" funny how s little comment like that makes you remember lol Thank you for posting this wonderful tutorial. Any excuse to grab my favorite crochet hook!
THANk you for your tutorial I will try to make this pattern I haven't made a triangular shawl yet I'm just a beginner in crochet but to fallow you make me to start thank you.
Hi! Just came across this tutorial. First, for some reason I find some other tutorials slightly annoying with this particular style of pattern. Found this one and its simple to follow along. I chose the Mandala Lion Brand yarn. Its a size 3 worsted weight but I figured with a size H hook and 590 yards per roll I would give this a shot. Fall is right around the corner and I'm looking for something to wear with my boots. Thanks for the video!
Thank you 😊 As chance would have it, I recently gained access to Mandala at a local store, and yes I find a size H works rather well with the weight. Currently working on two more shawl patterns with Mandala and I can't wait to post tutorials, so please stay tuned in for more to come. 😄
Saundra Frioux I have Mandala yarns for this type of shawl before, and it works very well. I like bug shawls, so sometimes use as many as 2.5, or even 3 cakes... I have found that I can go as high a J-10, and get a pretty drape... Good luck..
06-19.. I have used this great pattern several times, since my first comment...I love it... Am planning a cotton shawl for my nephew’s lovely wife.., Using three of Lion Brand’s Comfy Cotton Cakes, in the colorway Whipped Cream. I thunk it will be very nice.
I got some Lion Brand Mandala in the color Warlock Sorceror and I'm starting your shawl. Your voice is so soothing and happy. You should do some sort of uplifting messages. I'd love them, but in the meantime I'll keep watching and crocheting with you. Peace, Love and Light.
SharonCat... I seem to run into you regularly 😂😂 We run in the same circle 😉 Did you ever make this with the Mandala Warlock? I'd love to see it! I've got some Warlock that I've been trying to find a project for.
great tutorial, I found your voice very relaxing, as I crocheted along with you.The Caron cake yarn looks lovely, but it is not sold in the UK as yet. I have subscribed.
First off I love ur videos very much! I'm Sonia, a beginner crotcheter & u r a great teacher so thank you so much for ur patience😊 I made a couple of ur beautiful pieces, the granny meets virus shawl & one of ur blankets, sorry I forgot the name. So I wanted to make the granny shawl but I wanted to put a hood on it, how would I go about doing that? It's for my mom & it's getting cold outside & I want to keep her warm. Thank you.😊💕
+bret Templeton I am sorry about your friend, yet hopeful and glad that you are his/her friend. As crafters we not only create tangible things, but also intangible feelings like compassion and hope. Glad you liked the video, my thoughts are with you 😌
Why do all the shawl patterns start at the bottom point? Why can't I find one that starts with the long top side... the side that goes around your neck and shoulders?
