Thanks so much for watching! If you end up making this sweater I would love to see it feel free to tag me @candywyfe my username is the same on all platforms!
Here is a link for the cat graph that I made on stitchfiddle, I think I made changes as I went so do not be afraid to do the same! The graph is mainly a guide to show you where to place each stitch but feel free to alter the look as you go based on what you think looks best!

pro tips for anyone about to take this on as a project, instead of “carrying” the yarn all the way through a row, use bobbins! i’m working on an enormous super detailed graphgan right now, and not having to carry the yarn through 20 stitches is just so much easier, i just have the colors i need the spots i need just wrapped around popsicle sticks with a rubberband to keep them from unraveling. i’m planning to make this for my girlfriend to wear as part of a marceline cosplay, and i’m thinking i might also just stitch the face details on, because i’m tired of graphgans (i’ve been working on this blanket for over a year, and most of that was just writing the pattern 😭)

this is so cool! i have plans to make a graphgan sweater (not this design) but the graphs and stitches and possible math makes me tired lol but this is super helpful and not as scary so thank you! i do have a question, for the ribbing on the bottom and on the neck, did you crochet them separately and then attach them or crochet them directly onto the panels? :)
@candywyfe
@candywyfe 2 года назад
Yes I will anything to avoid math at all costs LOL and for the ribbing I actually just crocheted them directly onto the panels so I could just do everything all at once! If there are corners I will cut them 💀 Just chain out however wide you want the ribbing to be and skip a few spots along the bottom if you want it to cinch in! Just be careful for the neck because I had to redo mine a few times because I kept making it wayyyy too tight, I hope this helps and good luck with your project!!

this was so helpful thank you so much! also OMG how did you make the prismo silhouette ?
@candywyfe
@candywyfe 11 месяцев назад
Of course!! It is super easy I made it with a punch needle! I don't have a tufting gun so it is basically the manual way to make a rug, it is super easy and beginner friendly/cheap, you really only need a punch needle, yarn, monks cloth, and some kind of frame/embroidery hoop! It definitely takes a while if you are making something larger (the prismo one took me a little bit for sure) but it is super fun I highly recommend!
@Dubhaltagh
@Dubhaltagh 11 месяцев назад
interesting! my guess was that it was made with felt or foam. did you make the outline on stitch fiddle or did you find a graph online? @@candywyfe
@candywyfe
@candywyfe 11 месяцев назад
@@Dubhaltagh I just drew it on the fabric with no graph! If you look up a tutorial for punch needle you can just punch the yarn in randomly it just needs to be dense! Monks cloth for sure for the fabric to use

@candywyfe
@candywyfe Год назад
It is a punch needle rug! There are a bunch of tutorials online for how to do it, it’s super easy to learn and you don’t need that many materials I highly recommend!

off topic but i am OBSESSED with the little prismo thing you have on your nightstand. how did you make it?
@candywyfe
@candywyfe Год назад
Thank you so much!!! It is called punch needle (similar to tufting but without a tufting gun) I can definitely do a video on it in the future but there are a bunch of tutorials on RU-vid for how to do it, it’s basically just a small rug that I made by punching yarn through cheesecloth using a punch needle! I’ll send you some links for the materials that I used!

You can basically use any frame/embroidery hoop for the rug but since I wanted mine to be bigger I went to the thrift store and bought a large wooden frame there since it would be cheapest! I hope this helps!

Hey! What stitch did u use for the sleeves to make it boxy? also was panel douple crochet?
@candywyfe
@candywyfe Год назад
Hello! I used a half double crochet stitch for the whole sweater (the panels & the sleeves), I think the sleeves turned out pretty boxy because I made the panels for the sweater rectangular rather than decreasing for the arm holes so it has more of a drop shoulder sleeve! I would also make the arm holes/sleeves much larger/wider than your arm, that should help create that boxy effect as well!

@chintaamelia1798
@chintaamelia1798 Год назад
may i know how much yarn did you use?
@candywyfe
@candywyfe Год назад
Yes! I used just under half of the red yarn so approximately 500 yards/227 grams and I used about 1200 yards of the gray yarn/500grams, for the black/yellow yarn you will only need a couple yards so I would recommend using any yarn you may have laying around since you won’t need much! I hope this helps!
@lynnjj1862
@lynnjj1862 Год назад
what ply is your yarn?
@candywyfe
@candywyfe Год назад
Shoot I’m sorry I made this so long ago I don’t have the yarn anymore so I’m not sure, it was the pound of acrylic yarn from Joanns (I think it was lion brand) I would guess 4? Hope this helps and sorry I can’t be more specific!

is the sweater heavy if you use a thin yarn? I have made a sweater before with a milk cotton yarn and it was really heavy that I couldn’t even wear it

I used acrylic yarn so my sweater isn’t super heavy, I’m not sure how it would fit if you use cotton but I would say go with a lighter yarn if that has happened to you in the past!
