I love it when I can use my crock pot for delicious recipes such as Beef Stroganoff! This dish is so rich in flavor and hearty. It can be served with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes. My favorite is to serve it with German Spaetzle!
Beef Stroganoff
Ingredients
2 pounds of stew beef
1 onion
8 oz container of fresh mushrooms
2 1/2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp Worcestershire
1 cup sour cream
2 tbsp corn starch
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tsp minced onion
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp beef base
Instructions
1. Sprinkle stew beef with salt and pepper. Cook in hot skillet with a couple tablespoons of olive oil. Leave space between each piece of beef so that it can develop a nice sear on each side. You will have to cook it in batches placing the beef in crock pot after the beef is done.
2. Sprinkle corn starch over beef in crock pot. Add Worcestershire, Dijon, chopped onion, mushrooms, minced onion, garlic powder, and beef base. Stir until everything is combined.
3. Pour in beef broth. Stir and then cook in high for 4 to 6 hours. You can cook on low for 8 to 10 hours.
4. Right before serving stir in sour cream.
5. Serve with rice, pasta, or mashed potatoes
