Croft Manor has always been a central part of this franchise for me. Its weird though. What started as a somewhat tutorial level, evolved into a very special place to feel at home.

Miss Croft, Pardon the mess in the foyer, but a rather large shipment of antiquities arrived while you were out. I would have had the crates placed in the Gallery, but the security alarm has somehow been activated, locking the room from the inside. If this was not concerning enough, the renovators have shut off the water supply to the entire manor in order to continue construction of the pool house. On the bright side, I've located your missing journal and returned it to its appointed hiding place in your room. Faithfully in your service, Winston.

2000s era, when there was just you and your PS2. God i miss those times.

This theme gives an melancholic feeling for some reason. Definitely one of the best games I have played.

God, I love how the classic TR theme's melody is integrated into this. I was so young when I played the original TR games, I barely remember them, but that theme is so iconic to me for some reason.

A moment of silence for those who never experienced the old Tomb Raider games... i still remember buying it from newspapper shops, such a nice experience, time passed, but i still come here in my dark days to find myself

It rather feels melancholy traveling around the Manor in Anniversary compared to Legend. No Zip, Alister or friendly comical banter. The pool all boarded up, the gym has fewer accessories and platforms etc. Felt a bit depressing. Nonetheless a beautiful music piece.

This song represents the old, playful adventuring of the older Tomb Raider games. While I love how realistic and mature the newer games are, the old ones will always have a special place in my heart!

This theme has been in my head for over a decade. Haven't listened to it since then but its stuck with me all the same, and occurs whenever I walk in the moonlight for some reason. It's so calming and nostalgic and serene, a faded childhood memory.

As the kids say: "this is everything!". The allusion to the original Tomb Raider theme, the sort of heaviness of the piece, it gently pulls you into another world.

I remember the feelings I was getting while listening to the soundtrack of all older TR games. I used to listen to the music almost every day and it was such a magical experence, so calm beautiful. This type of music brings out the best feelings in me, it makes me dream. Now after not listening to almost any classical type of music in a long time I feel so loaded right now listening to it. Forever in love!

following the story, after I played Legend, I was so amazed at the epicness of this game that I coudn't get enough of Tomb Raider. I wanted more. But I didn't manage to crack this one, fortunately my mom was kind enough to buy me the game since I've had good grades. Although, it was not as warm as Legend and felt kind of isolated (which perfectly transcribes the original from 1996), it definitely had that taste of adventure, same action, more exploration and still as epic as ever.

My favourite version of Lara's mansion. Good puzzles, bit of story and music that hints of mystery and danger.

A small snippet of this plays at the end of tomb raider underworld when that version of Lara walks away for the final time and says "goodbye mother, rest in peace".

I miss good old Tomb Raider :(

Omg! So many memories, growing up playing Tomb Raider since the very first one. Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Rider Underworld were the last 2 games of the legendary Lara Croft look. Idk who this unrecognizable character is in the more recent Tomb Raider games. To me, her whole look is ruined. 😖

I love this, so nostalgic... the best time of this incredible game. Listening to this soundtrack brings me back to those moments of peace. No doubt, it marked my childhood.

So soothing..reminds me of these old days, when i used to play TR, from the first time on PS 1 to the game i got for my PC. The most relaxing game ever. And the Croft Manor-my favorite!

I recently started this game. After playing Legend on the PS2 back in the day, the controls felt very familiar, even after all these years. Before starting the first level, I went straight to the Croft Manor. I didn't expect it to be a tiny treasure hunt side quest, having you go back and forth unlocking stuff while also honing your skills. After listening to this for a couple of minutes, I fell in love with it. Such a great experience, and I barely started the game!

I loved all of the Core music - especially, the first two main themes. Absolutely beautiful! And..distinctly Tomb Raider. You can hear it in the melody reflecting back to a golden age of gaming. I spent hours completing the first four games. The music really added to the environment. It MADE me keep going when frustration set in. I HAD to keep playing to see what was around that next bend! That's what games should do and these did a fantastic job of it. Even with it's flaws, I still played through this one too! The music had alot to do with it. Very few games have done that and I still get chills when I listen to it!

Me and my old halo 3 edition Xbox 360. Miss that console, and the custom controller that came with it. I loved to just sit at the main menu and listen to the music. I used to just run around doing jumps and somersaults listening to this song in the manor. Nostalgia hits like a gut punch.

‘Hello, welcome to my home. Sadly I’m poor and don’t have a mansion, but I still have fun nonetheless. Here is my crochet pile, my very old couch with too many blankets, and if you press action then ‘up’ you can see the damp spot my landlord promised to fix. I don’t have a pool or a gym, but there is the road outside that always floods and it makes for an interesting commute. Well that’s it, have fun exploring!’ 😂😂

I want to cry. From everything - memories, beauty, Lara Croft...

it does feel like there was a period in the late 90s and a lot of the 2000s where composers were really giving it their all. Don't get me wrong, there are some games post 2010 with great soundtracks, but a lot of them to me just sound like the composers are trying too hard. I think out of all of the post 2010 games I've played the only 4 I can think of that did surprisingly well in the soundtrack field are Journey, The Last of Us, Horizon Zero Dawn, and No Man's Sky. But pre-2010 I can safely name Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary, Okami, pretty much any Ratchet & Clank game up to A Crack in Time, the original Spyro games, the Jak games, the Crash Bandicoot games, The Splinter Cell Trilogy, Beyond Good & Evil, Infamous, and probably some more I can't immediately think of. And I wish I could say this is just nostalgia talking, but if you play through pretty much any of those games it does feel more like the composers were having fun with their music rather than just trying to constantly sound dark and gritty.

31 this year. never played the newe tomb raiders, when i was very young i watched my dad play through all of the ps1 games. listening to this gives me nostalgia towards the series. im really happy to have this kind of memory.

Zip reclined his seat and showed her a file on his PC. "You've heard of the Rutlands, right? From the States. Well, you just met the Senator's youngest son, James Rutland. He went to West Point, and that's about all he's done." "Call up the footage, please." The tech expert bent over his keyboard. Winston, Lara's faithful family butler, greeted her. "Welcome home, Lady Croft. Will your hand luggage require emptying or filling?" "Winston, take a look at this." She showed him footage of the stone dais. "It's almost identical, just configured differently." "Identical to what?" a thickly-bespectacled Alister asked. "Something I saw a long time ago in Nepal, miles from any pre-Incan culture." Winston pondered a shot of Rutland holding his pointed artifact. "And you believe this to be a fragment of the sword?" "What sword?" Alister said, as Lara went on. "More likely another of its kind. Zip, I want you to find out what you can about this Rutland, particularly where he is at the moment." "Try Peru," Zip suggested. "He talked about Paraiso." "He did imply there's information about the artifacts there," Lara agreed. "He said you've been to Paraiso," tried a bewildered Alister. "What happened there? And who is Amanda?" Lara studied Zip's computer screen. "Alister, go over these images and see what you can work out. Zip, ring Anaya and see if she can meet me in Paraiso, Saturday morning." She turned decisively for the stairs. Another adventure was about to begin. Unfortunately, it was in the hands of an unpleasant man surrounded by mercenaries.
