Hello and thanks for such a great response to my last video. I am in Iowa spraying corn for a few weeks. Vlog on that coming soon. Since many of you asked for a raw un-cut shot to see how it really works (and sounds with no music) I decided to upload this.
This is a continuous shot spraying 75 acres of Garbanzo beans with Fungicide. I am flying a Race Track pattern (Google is your friend) doing 1200' turns
Speed across the field is around 120mph height is about 7' wheels to crop. Plane is a Gruman Ag-Cat with a PT6-34 turbo prop conversion.
Please like, subscribe and leave a comment bellow. i will try and answer as many questions as possible.

My dad was a commercial airline pilot. He built up his hours in the late fifties, early sixties crop dusting. I think it made him a very hands on pilot. He used to drive co-pilots crazy because he flew the plane. It wasn't just wheels up slap on the auto pilot. He brought to altitude, and took it down. Thanks for the video, it was fun seeing it from this perspective. And next time you guys come through southern Minnesota from Oshkosh, there's a great little grass strip airport nearby, KSYN, I'd be more than happy to cart you guys around to get you to the hotel, food, or whatever.

My father-in-law flew crop dusters in southern and central California for years. He was a C-47 pilot during the war and flew the hump over the Himalayas. I loved going flying with him, he had an Aeronca Champ for years then sold it and flew a Stearman 75 the last few years of his life. God damn, he was a great pilot and a great guy. I miss him a lot.

A crop duster pilot checked my brother out in a Stearman. Brother Bud used to tell the story saying on his 1st trip around the pattern he made a standard take-off and began his climb out to pattern altitude. As he climbed through 400 ft Bube (pronounced Boobee) took the stick and yelled through the intercom “Don’t go so high, Bud, I get a nose bleed if you get any higher!)

Thought of you this weekend. I was at Coralville lake in Iowa, north of Iowa city, and outside the Marina there is an OLD Piper Cub in Ag-Cat Yellow with floats on it for lake use. Grass growing around it, wish I had taken a picture. Neat video today! That plane and you are One. You're very good at your job! Glad you got your plane back! Safe flying!

Hey Scott, :-) I "Might" ......-Repeat-....."Might" have been able to do that 20+ years ago but these days I have trouble holding my attention on any one thing for more than a few minutes, this kind of flying "Demands 110% Attention" for however big the job is and that has to be your #1 priority!! Of course I might have failed at being comfortable flying that close to terrain, especially where there are power lines and trees! I'll never know at this stage of my life but that's OK. :-) Great "Uncut" video for sure! Not sure it would hold my attention as a viewer on every video (even aside from my short attention span these days), it's always nice (as a viewer) to listen to your commentary, you're a good speaker!! I totally understand that this one was done as a request. Having said that, I'm sure there are quite a few aspiring ag pilots that could watch this all day :-) As another commenter said, it would be nice to see how your GPS, light bar and other things works such as how you setup for turns to line up for the next swath, if you ever use flaps to tighten the turns, etc. It makes me feel good to see you evolve from a STOL pilot to making a career doing what you love to do. All the best, Joe

Very dangerous job, I worked for a crop duster years ago. I'm sure with the aircraft having a turbine, the aircraft have become much more reliable. They use to say....If the crash doesn't kill you, the chemical will.

I grew up on a Farm in Mississippi and I'm very familiar with crop dusting. I notice that y'all dont use flaggers anymore...LOL. In the '70's, once you turned 12...if you were bored on a dusting day...they would send you out to flag...with a sandwich and a can of soda. Lord how the times have changed.
