Border View Farms is a mid-sized family farm that sits on the Ohio-Michigan border. My name is Nathan. I make and edit all of the videos posted here. I farm with my dad, Mark and uncle, Phil. Our part-time employee, Brock, also helps with the filming. 1980 was our first year in Waldron where our main farm is now. Since then we have grown the operation from just a couple hundred acres to over 3,000. Watch my 500th video for a history of our farm I filmed with my dad.
I started making these videos in the fall of 2019 as a way to help show what I do on a daily basis as a farmer. Agriculture is different from any other industry and I believe the more people that are showing their small piece of agriculture, helps to build our story. We face unique challenges and stressful situations but have some of the most rewarding payoffs in the end. I get to spend everyday doing what I love, raising my kids on the farm, and trying to push our farm to be better every year. I hope that I can address questions or concerns that you might have about farms and agriculture.
I hope you enjoy my content and ask questions as you have them. I do my best to answer anything I can. Thanks for watching!
I appreciate you subscribing to my channel and liking my videos. You can also find me on Facebook borderviewfarms and on Instagram @borderviewfarms

I’m really impressed with how the 360 rain guys are taking care of the issues you have had. Also with the electric company taking the initiative and reaching out to you. Good luck. Keep the videos coming. Love the content.

Sometimes these newer companies do a great job with support because they need to learn what the flaws are so they can fix for future production, but it is nice to see how proactive and responsive they are!

The corn pollination demonstration was one of if not the best I've ever seen (and I've seen a bunch). Golden Harvest better be paying attention before another competitor recognizes the diamond in the rough they have. From a marketing perspective, you are the motherlode of gold, no pun intended... okay maybe it is.

In Texas LEPA irrigation was developed in the 1980's. The sprinkler water is placed with a hose 30 to 60" and bubbler nozzle a foot above the ground.

Good video, very informative. You sound not only like a seedcorn salesman, also an agronomist. You get my attention clear to the end. Awesome stuff. We better short corn.

I'm really enjoying your videos! And learning a few things too! You do a great job of explaining things in layman's terms. I do have a couple questions. What did you spray on your wheat last fall to keep it so clean? And when did you spray it? Thanks in advance! Keep up the great work 👍

I'm a bit behind on video viewing, catching up! Sooo, I would like to suggest some drone fungicide test strips for corn and soybeans. It would be nice to take ground conditions out of the spraying calculation. Forget the Hagie? Buy drones young man! Remember, I love spending your money.

I watched the drone spraying the other day on that’s pretty productive to a point you don’t have to worry about drying out the ground and thirty thousand or higher for one drone hm maybe better in cost in the long run ✌️I love your channel your the real deal and thanks for what you do may God bless you and your family and land and give both latter rains in Jesus name amen.

Good to see you are getting more reach. I really wish you would get a consultant to help grow your channel. I don’t pretend to have those skills. Just compare you to that Extremely annoying cropstar (you will figure that out) but, he has so many more followers. You get help from agronomists and other consultants. Please get help from the same for this business. I think we all want to see you grow.

MSMA is used for grassy weeds like crabgrass, nutsedge, Dallasgrass and many more. I had some left over from my 1100 acres so used it on a few clumps of crabgrass and dallasgrass. It took 1 round to get rid of it. I live on the ranch so used it which took care of all the stickers etc. it’s worth a look into it which I’m sure you’ll get a way better price than I can. Edit. I sprayed it at a rate of .25 ounces per gallon just for those that want to know. It’s says a rate of .75-1.0 oz per gallon but with it being so hot I used I cut that rate in 3/4. When applying it I only went over it with a light misting. Don’t go over or you’ll burn your grass. Disclaimer; Not responsible for those that don’t read instructions or if you put it on the wrong type of crop, grass etc. and it kills it.

Crops are looking great! I was curious on the agxplorer products are you able to sell that stuff and ship it or would I need to find someone more local? I’m in SE Sd I’m very interested in trying some next year.

Nathan I think you should just place the 50 caliber on each corner of the rain system and have a laser trained under the deer and that way you can just hear pop pop pop pop pop pop all night long and you can get into the meat business

You would think the power companies could run wires for less than it take a common homeowner or contractor. I guess if they are paying into good programs for employees it could cost more but I would guess the money goes to shareholders. What should that project cost say 3000 max for the wire and equipment and a day with equipment and 5 guys say another 3 grand add another 3 grand for management and planning. So thats a 10 grand project MAX.
