The Viltrox 75mm 1.2 compared to the Nikon Z 70-200 2.8 for background blur bokeh. The king for portrait lens who will win.
On the cropped Sony a6700 Vs the full frame Nikon Z6.
Can a cropped camera produce great looking bokeh as good as a full Frame camera?. Vs one of the most used portrait lens of all time the 70-200 2.8 at 200mm?
See the results and images from both and some sample 4k video as well.
The Viltrox 75mm is 1/4 the cost of the Nikon 70-200 and smaller and lighter can it come close too the quality of the legndaey 70-200 watch and see.
Cropped camera and lens VS a full Frame camera and lens shootout.
Only one will be called the King Of Bokeh.

I just got the Viltrox 75 mm f/1.2 for my Nikon Z30. A video like this confirms that I can expect at least decent pictures with it. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Yes you should get fantastic photos from it. I have the Nikon Z50 and two Z6s as well but have been moving more to Sony as the Sony a6700 vs the z50 or 30 is night and day. The focus system on the a6700 is like the Nikon Z8 and 9 but in this small cropped camera. And the tracking is amazing plus all the advanced video features. I will be selling my Z50 two lens kit and other lens I have for it. I have the Sigma16mm 1.4 for it that is also a great lens better than any Nikon cropped lens. I have over 10k of Nikon lens and gear I will be selling. But will be doing some videos on them side by side vs some Sigma lens on Sony. I have for the most part replaced all my Nikon Z lens with Sony, Sigma or Tamron lens now for my Sony system. My two Z6s have been replaced with a Sony A9 III a the two a6700 we have. The Plan for today is to take photos of it all to start putting the Nikon Z gear up for sale. Then buy more Sony lens.

My favourite use of a 200mm F2.8 is to hold it very low to the ground and take full body environmental portraits @200mm (mostly of my dog) wishlist holding the camera in landscape. If you try that with both, but use the 75mm from the same distance then you will see the advantage of the extra reach.

what focus mode were you using on the Nikon? A different mode can make a big difference depending on the circumstances you are shooting in. Thanks for the comparison, I've been looking for something like this for a while!

The z6 is very poor at tracking so we have shot with single point focus for years now with it. I have shot over 600 jobs with the Z6 and it has been good no problems with it ever breaking down. But the focus system has never been that good on it and we can never use tracking focus as it's so poor. The a6700 on the other hand is fantastic and we use tracking 100% of the time with it as it just never misses. I was surprised I had the focus problems on the Nikon. I had never tested it like this before but have shot portraits with it before with no problem. I quit using it due to the size and weight. I will be selling it now it have been used less then ten times at this point.

Great review. About the viltrox 75 Wanted to know if there are any updates on af performance after firmware update 1.0.4 in Nov 23 as people say that it was not reliable for fast moving subjects like birds, running pets, children, etc in the very first firmware? I am in the market for buying one. I currently have sigma 18-50 f2.8 for my a6700, looking to have a prime now-- confused between sigma 56 f1.4 and the this viltrox 75. Performance wise 56 seems to be reliable. Wether sealing, image quality wise viltrox seems better. Also this will add a bigger focal length for my use.

After the updates I have done two of them I have had no problems. but I am not shooting fast moving subjects like birds or running pets so have not tested that. It's a great portrait lens. In another videos I tested it VS a Samyang 85mm 1.4 and had to sent that back as it had strange focus problems shacking real bad on my Sony a9 III. Thinking of buying the new Sigma 50 1.2 for my A9 III unless the new Viltrox 85mm 1.4 is out soon to look. I have some jobs I like to use primes on coming up High School senior sessions. Could use my Nikon z6 and 85mm 1.8 but would like to use the A9III as I am moving more into Sony.

Viltrox does have better bokeh, but the other one does have more compression, pulls more the background.

Yaa but you have to be so far back at 200mm it's crazy. I picked up a 85mm 1.4 for my A9III I have another video on shooting it VS the Viltrox 75. I love the Viltrox but want something for my Full Frame. I had to send back the 85mm I got I used in the video as it did not work right on the A9 III.The Viltrox that is really a 112mm vs FF had the better background compress VS the 85mm 1.4 but the 1,4 produce a little better background blur just a little. But the 85 lets you get in even closer to your subject they the Viltrox 75 = 112mm. Waiting to see the new Viltrox 85mm 1.4 that have listed to come out soon. I just hope it is lighter as the 75mm 1.2 is very heavy.

bokeh is a little nicer on the viltrox but I am noticing that I like the compression you get on the 200 a little more so they are kind of equal for me in the background that you get.

Yaa compression is better at 200mm but when shooting portraits at 200mm you have to be so far back people can no longer even hear you talking to them and you need a lot of space to be far back. Today I just got in a 85mm 1.4 to use on my new A9 III so I get the full MP not in cropped. I have to test shoot them both but so far it looks like the 85mm 1.4 match the 75mm cropped for background bone and I can be in even closes now with it. So will use the Viltrox on the a6700 and the new 85 1.4 on the A9 III. the A9 III lets me shoot wide open. a F 1.4 as the a9 III has the higher shutter speeds so no ND filter is needed plus the advanced flash sync speeds it can do is just amazing.
