IF YOU LIVED THE ERA-The 60s, The Music-The War, the Movement-YOU KNOW A TIME NO OTHERS WILL EVER UNDERSTAND or COMPREHEND. You HAD TO EXPERIENCE IT AND LIVE IT. WOODEN SHIPS can no one touch that Crosby, Stills and Nash perfectly performed. IT SET THE STANDARD OF THE TIME.
Siaya, I lived that time, and I agree with you. We could never truly describe what it was like in those years to someone who anyone who didn't experience what we did. The politics, the war, the assassinations, and the greatest music. Crosby, Stills, and Nash were the best. I think they were in a class by themselves. loved their music then and love it still.
I lived in the era. Crosby Stills and Nash were overrated. Crosby was a lifelong sleaze who shit on people all the time. And frankly, their voices together sounded like fingernails on a chalkboard.
The War is and will always be World War 2. Vietnam was rough for those who fought it but alot of guys simply decided not to. Oh my what a sacrifice those hippies made
I was at that concert. I will always love those guys. They are and will be one of my very favorite bands. I was blessed to have met them personally a few times backstage or at at another musicians friends house. Rock on forever!!!!
@@michelgervais1874 Stephen Stills hatte 1971 mal einen Live Auftritt auf einem französischen Fernsehsender: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f8iV5TILxNY.html
I was born in 1962. But I can remember the embassy in Saigon being evacuated, what was shown on TV. I grew up without cell phones, CD's, computers, or video games. It was a great time to be alive. Unless you were a kid graduating from high school somewhere around 1966-70.
@@sharpenflat6002 If this entry from wikipedia is correct, so is Tommy Haynes: "Kantner could not be credited as one of the joint authors-composers of "Wooden Ships" on the original May 1969 release of Crosby, Stills & Nash, because he was embroiled in legal disputes with Jefferson Airplane's then manager, Matthew Katz."
Acid Head's make good music , I know , I am one , my friend at Woodstock consert , seen the Butterflies leaving messages in the sky , it's okay , We are living Free and easy , ...
What to say? These guys are my idols! Their music is a big part of the soundtrack of my life. This is quite a performance and you can tell by their body language and their smiles that they really nailed it. Their chemistry and 'Sound' is uncanny! I only saw them once(San Diego circa '85)and I will never forget it!
Crosby's voice, man. It echoes and , you know, he always said Stills never understood this song. Well, Crosby tried to teach us what it was about when he sang it. There's no one like him.
Saying Goodbye To David Crosby! Prayers Go Out To Family, Loved Ones, & Close Friends! Thanks For All The Awesome Music! You Will Surely Be Missed, David Crosby! xxs
We covered this song on our channel a few days before David Crosby's death although its not nearly as good as the original. Personally, I love CSNY and is one of my all time favorites to perform. RIP David Crosby.
The crowd loved the acoustic version of Wooden Ships. Graham Nash looked to be only playing chords on the chorus. Interesting Stephen Stills went for a rhythmic strumming guitar solo rather a fast note playing solo. It really works.
Ouço esses caras desde 1976. Motivado pelo meu irmão Geraldo, em Sorocaba-SP. Hoje, ele deve morar no ceu. E eu, morando no Acre, só me resta lembrar dos bons tempos de adolescência. Reminiscências....
I can think of literally dozens of singers who could sing Crosby under 87 tables! Beginning with his Byrdmates Gene Clark and Roger McGuinn. Next; Nash and Stills are better lead singers than David. He’s a great harmony singer, but not so great as a lead singer. “Almost Cut My Hair” (a song I happen to love) is more spoken than sung, as is his featured vocal on that bluesy number he sings on the first CSN album. He does a beautiful job on “Guinevere” however.
That's a joke, right? Stills did Crosby a favor by letting him on stage. Stills wasted him time dicking around with Crosby, Nash, and Young. If it wasn't for Stills, Nash would have never been heard of after the bubble gum band the Hollies. Stills is in his own category by himself.
Stop with the stupid underrated crap . David Crosby was never underrated. He is a world famous musician roundly praised for his singing and guitar playing talent. Are you teenager ?
I was SO lucky that this band was part of my growing up years. I am forever blessed. Now I'm a grown up and playing them on my Saturday night KZAP show. Still blessed.
Thank you for seeing that. He is always off a bit. If it wasn't for Stills, he would have been forgotten 50 years ago. All he and Crosby did was drag Stills down. They aren't even in the same category as Stills.
One of the best songs EVER WRITTEN. I'm just 55, and a Trump voter. But I LOVE 💕💕 I love some CSNY. In case you don't know what it means, it's David Crosby. Steven Stills, Graham Nash, Neil Young...
