I've got one of these had it for about 6 months roughly I think it's a great .22 especially for the price my only niggle with it is I think it's a bit loud, I'm looking to buy a Weihrauch HW97KT in .177 soon but will keep my Silver Fox for my daughter to use at the local range 🙂

They used to be metal and pretty much all of my crosman have metal trigger, Both of my gamos have a plastic trigger blade tho! {Feels better than a red ryder trigger atleast}

The crosman phoenix (canadian tire special haha) has the same stock BUT with red accents {recoil pad + trigger blade} Fun how pretty much every crosman rifles are sharing parts externally or internally !

I have owned one of these Crossman Silver Fox for a year now and must admit that it's a great Gun otherwise i wouldn't still own it. Once you have leaded the barrel in and hopefully cleaned it after purchasing it you'll find that it is accurate out to 50yrd with Crossman Premier 14.3gr pellets. Lovely Gun and to be honest it's a keeper. 👍👍👍

It's pretty much the same exact rifle as the Crosman Shockwave, just painted silver instead of all black. .22 I bet it does around 700 fps with about 17fpe just like the Shockwave with a h&n hornet. The Shockwave was around $145 at Walmart 2 years ago.

I love the shaping of the stock on that, but shame they don't do a "Black Fox" option on the metal. Possibly the group may tighten with a type of pellet the barrel prefers a little more? ATB MMMD

If testing a budget combo or an expensive combo do you test straight out of box, or do you zero optics first. When buying optics are they zeroed at a given range ish. Great channel fella. Come on people sub this informative channel.😁

Hi Paul. Thanks for your support. I always give rifles a pull through the clean the barrel and usually a few hundred pellets for things to settle down, although sometimes that's not always possible if a rifle has to go back to the supplier quickly. To be honest, with scopes, they tend to go on and off so many different rifles that I simply plonk them on, zero them up and off I go. Thanks again for watching.

You can't judge any rifle be it budget or not with trying only one brand and weight of pellet etc. All rifles need to be tested with mulptiple brands and weights of pellets to find the best groupings.

@@airgunextra I don't own that rifle, sorry. I have tested all the rifles I own with 30 or more different brands and weights of pellets and there are definite differences in groups from a spread of several inches down to pellet on top of pellet groups.

@airgunextra 2 года назад
@@MrRockstar1968 No, I don't own a Crosman Silver Fox either.
@MrRockstar1968
@MrRockstar1968 2 года назад
@@airgunextra You don't need to own one, as what I was stating applies to all rifles of all makes models and brands etc and all types of ammo. I just thought it might be a handy thing to explain when reviewing rifles you could maybe say to bear in mind that each individual rifle needs to be tested with multiple pellets to find the most suited pellet. When I tested 30 different brands and weights of pellets on my Artemis P15, it was best suited to one pellet in particular at all distances from 5 to 10 to 15 and each 5 yard increment up to 50 yard with half inch groups at each distance. A few of the other pellets had tight groups at 5 to 10 to 15 up to 25 yards though began to spread more. And the majority of the pellets about 24 of the brands were scattered groups. I've also had similar results testing my BSA LIGHTNING GRT.

@@MrRockstar1968 Hi Stephen. You make a good point that it is a fact that I could mention more often. The point I was making is that I don't own all these rifles and that sometimes I only have them for a day or two before they have to go back, which makes testing with many different pellet types difficult, especially at the moment with pellet supply issues. Air rifles are subjective things, as you know. I only ever intend to provide an over view of key features rather than say 'buy this rifle and it will achieve this level of accuracy'. There are simply too many variations to be able to do that categorically. As I'm sure you know, take a rifle out of the box and it will work with one brand of pellet. Take another rifle of the same make, model and calibre and it will work better with a different brand of pellet. Just because your P15 works well with brand x it doesn't necessarily mean my P15 will. I guess that's what makes air rifles great...and frustrating.

I've had this gun for a few months now and the accuracy is horrendous. I've just upgraded the scope to a Hawke Airmax 30 FFP to see if it helps and it's still rubbish. On an 8"x8" target 25yds away and I get maybe 1 out of 30 shots in the target. It's hard to zero it in when the shots are so erratic. Any tips?
@airgunextra
@airgunextra 6 месяцев назад
Hi. It's important to set your expectations realistically given the Silver Fox is an affordable rifle, but it should certainly be more accurate that what you describe. Cleaning the barrel is always a good start. Make sure you have a decent set of mounts to go with your Hawk scope, and try a range of good quality pellets. Good luck!

Exactly very poor on cocking that's is the most noise of any gas ram I can not see it lasting a year Hw 90 gas ram it's very quiet on shooting and cocking even cheap you should get better rifle like that and the trigger I hear this every time it's a budget rifle my hw99s was a budget rifle it cocks better and very quietly just not sold and I would never say it's.for a learner I have six smk rifles and all springers and they shoot better and cock better if my grand son wants to shoot air rifles is going to be some thing alot better then that I will buy him a HW 99s in 177 and lighter and very quiet.
