I'm really late to the party but I'm loving this series. P.S. That's Wolf Brand Chili. That's the best of the worst. Lol. It's terrible but it's what we grew up on. Perfect for chili dogs.

You cannot see Big Bend Nat'l Park on a motorcycle & in one hour. It is so so beautiful with diverse landscape.

Enjoying your series. Unfortunately, you missed a great ride opportunity on this day. Should have gone south to Presidio and taken the River Road (FM-170) to Lajitas. The road runs along the Rio Grande River and sights, elevation changes, and twisties are spectacular! Re: Big Bend National Park, if one doesn't take the Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive off the main road (Panther Junction Rd) to the Santa Elena Canyon area, it's not worth the road trip through the park.
@CrunchMoto

Good to know about FM-170 for next time! And you’re right about Big Bend. I’m glad I went, but do wish I had taken that scenic route. Thanks for watching!

Yes Sir...I would ride from Arkansas to Big Bend for the Chili Cook off..Big Bend as in Santa Elena Canyon has so many beautiful places to see..all accessible by paved roads..

Good job but I think you missed out on some great motorcycling roads on your way to Big Bend. Should've gone through FM170 for the twisties, hills and most importantly the beautiful scenery along the Rio Grande.

Loved the route you took. I know when you,re grinding out the miles u don’t like to stop to top off your tank but it is risky. Cool place to spend the night after a long ride. Ride safe and I enjoy the videos.

Thanks for the tips! This was the last day I had any trouble finding gas. I stayed pretty close to I-10 once I got near San Antonio. Next time I definitely will bring a small emergency canister of fuel. Thanks for watching.

Just got back from a trip to Texas. Laughing because your comments on Big Bend were exactly my same thoughts. The "Three Sisters" area around Leakey made up for it.

Thanks for watching and commenting. I love hearing feedback (good and bad) on these videos. About Big Bend... I'm really glad I have these videos because as I look back, I realize it actually is pretty impressive (especially for someone from the East Coast.) But at the time, I was comparing it to Gila National Forest in NM where I was the day before. Which in my opinion, has better roads for motorcycling. And now more than a month after the trip, I'm really glad I took the detour through Big Bend. Cheers-

Almost through your trip, awesome scenery. I am Canadian, drive 2016, SGS, plan on traveling next winter down your way. You clearly planed your overnight stops, but if you weren't under a time crunch lol would you have problems finding lodging and could you give me a idea of cost, your showing menus so food prices are there, up in Canada off season motels $100 to 400 without reservations on season nothing without reservations, pack a tent
@CrunchMoto
@CrunchMoto 2 года назад
You're right. I planned my hotels in advance, mostly so my family would know where to expect me. In my experience, you shouldn't have any trouble booking hotels as you go if you're flexible about location. Larger cities will certainly have rooms available. High-demand areas like national parks are often fully booked even for tent sites. If you camp, you may consider camping in National Forrests or on public land designated by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM,) which I believe is free (though I could be wrong.) I spent between $50-$120 on my hotels. The safari tent in Marfa, TX was the most expensive and the room in Silver City, NM was the cheapest. The room in Jacksonville beach was somewhere over $300 if I recall, but I don't count that one because that was for the family. Hope this helps! Good luck with your trip. I'm happy to answer follow up questions too.

@@CrunchMoto OK may i ask please.. I'm watching multiple biker Adventures ...in Netherlands, Saudi Arabia , America, Germany, Sweden, The Highest Subscribers usually interesting on the Cost of the Daily Trip like my Self. So from what I Follow... I see those Bikers always tell us how much was the hotel room, the Lunch, the Gasoline ⛽,..and so on.. Wish if you could do that so we can understand & learn More... Thank you...

I brought 4 but usually only used 2 each day. I didn't record non-stop; only in 15 second shorts when the scenery was cool or longer when I wanted to make a voice note to self about something.
