Gene therapy has emerged as one research area with the potential to provide long sought-after answers for ALS. To discuss the current state of gene therapy and how genetics research benefits people living with brain disease, Board Chair David Dodick, MD, FAAN, sat down with Timothy Miller, MD, PhD, Professor of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and one of the nation’s leading ALS researchers.
The audience had a chance to ask questions related to how these findings could influence neurodegenerative diseases beyond ALS, how a certain tool could be used to diagnose genetic issues in utero or early childhood, insurance coverage for gene therapy, and more.
