This is a beautiful build and a great video. I’m building my flagship with absolutely no short cuts to complete a serious machine. A bit about me is I’m into hydraulic Rc heavy equipment and this mammoth will be my mega hauling work horse to add to my line up. This color is absolutely perfect for this rig and what I’m looking to do with my build. Most all my other rigs are in the construction line of things I too want to paint up mine as a non military Rc. Amy I ask if you used the typical tamyia lacquer paints or was it a oil based hardware spray. Thank you for a great video showing 👍🏼
Hey, thanks a lot. I am very interested in seeing some of your rigs, too. Do you have something with tracks? I started with an air brush, but in the end I simply used Tamiya plastic spray cans. I think this is ‚camel yellow‘, TS-34. I painted all moving parts separately, then assembled it. I didn’t glue the BC8 cab to it’s floor as described in the manual. The floor part is attached with screws to the chassis, but the top just fits with friction. That way it is easy to open later if you want to modify the electronics.
@@ScopsLog thank you very much for all your tips info and input. Keeping the cab accessible is a big plus. I’m waiting for my 40kg servos, esc and a bec and programmer for that. Did you go with a external bec as well? Just taking my time building this as the weather will permit my painting. I’ve already built the logging trailer yet not painted the decking, also waiting to do so with weather not so windy and rainy.
what a great colour, love the trailer, makes me want to get one now ) I think it looks the business. I am almost finished with my own build and went non-conventional with the colours.
There are so many military ones out, I wanted something else. ;-). I am thinking about weathering it a bit, and changing the lights. Good luck with your build, you’ll like it!
@@craigmorgan7558 most popular castles are in the south-west along the river Rhine, or in the south. But if you for some reason stop in the east of the state of Lower Saxony we could do a crawler tour. ;-)
I didn’t want to go for a military look, so I was torn between something blue-ish, red, or yellow. Yellow won because of what my hobby shop had in stock. :-)
Flagship. The standard has a lot more plastic parts, and seems to be better suited for careful driving and for looking good on the shelf. I like to drive over rocks and roots. Also the extra weight at the bottom helps.
