Hello! I am by no means a beginner, as I've done cross-stitch since I was about 7 years old (over 20 years now!), but I was never shown to have the loop in the thread to start the stitching. I think that is much easier than what I have been doing. It just goes to show that even if you've done something for years, you can always learn a better way of doing things! Thank you so much for your videos!
How can anyone not like this video?? I mean really, you came here to learn and this person is super sweet, she is thorough, and she is doing a super job!! You 66 people who gave this wonderful person a thumbs down. You need a hug.....because something is just not right with you!! ~*~HUGS~*~
I was very impressed with her explanations. I have not done cross stitching since I was in my late twenties, and now I am sixty eight years old. At that time I did not have computer to get lessons. You to teach yourself. Thank-you very much! It all came back with your instructions. Bonnie Pawelkiewicz
Best “How-to-do” video I have ever seen !!! Voice slow and relaxing allowing the listener to absorb fully the information. Wonderful tips....especially the starting loop tip !! I find the music relaxing ....simple pattern and limited notes that knits things together.... No soaring trumpets or crashing kettledrums......AND ....a lovely lovely lady !!!
This is just what I needed, a lady who was instructional, informative and clearly gave me beginner instructions that all the other videos out there rushed through. Thank you for your terrific video. Some people prefer a different style than this lady, personally, this is how I like to learn and how I like to be taught. Thank You!
Thank you so much. I am just learning and this has made things quite clear. I am very disheartened by a few of the rude comments here. I find that the background music shows very good class and is relaxing as well. I am happy it is there. It makes things pleasant. If a well put together video for people who share a similar interest makes you puke..well..you are showing immaturity and very low standards and you are on the wrong category of interests. I find that rude and critical comments come from individuals that are very unhappy with life and enjoy tearing others who are happy down. A blunt fact. Keep making these wonderful videos..background music and all. I very much enjoyed it.
I've been cross stitching for years but your using 1 strand folded with the loop on the underside to secure the stitching was eye opening. I'll do this from now on. Thank you so much for this informative video
Excellent beginner video. The softness of her voice and light music in the background sets up a quiet tranquil environment for cross stitching, which is the way I think it should be. It’s all about the relaxation and art!!
Great video I was shown how to cross stitch by my nan over 20 years ago and have forgotten everything. The video was very helpful and hopefully I will now be able to do the pattern I have gotten for myself thank you.
Thank you so much. I broke my ankle yesterday and I am bed ridden for 5 days and decided to take up Cross Stitching without a clue of what I was doing. You make it look so easy! Thank you again for helping me get through these long days!
Perfect! This was so well done. Nice close ups, good fabric/thread contrast, and helpful instructions without being overly chatty. This is the only one needed!
Such a nice and simple way to describe and instruct the very basic and very important techniques of cross stitching. Nice examples and lighting of the video. Thank you.
Wow! I have been stitching my whole life - that's many decades! - and I've never seen that way of securing the first stitch with a loop! I've never known to thread the needle that way! It changes everything! Thanks!
Your video is the best I've seen so far. Much clearer and much easier to understand. Your voice is also clear and pleasant. You seem to be more concise than a lot of the ladies I have listened to previously. Thank you so much. I have subscribed and look forward to many more videos teaching me how to stitch.
I love your voice, your wonderful instructions, your calm manner and the whole video. Very informative for a beginner like me. I can't wait to get started on my first project! Thank you so much! Your kits are lovely too! When I master the simple patterns, I'd really like to tackle some of those wonderful kits :-)
Thank you so much for this! As a beginner, I’ve been struggling with starting / finishing / tangled threads and messy-looking work. Your video has addressed all my main worries. -
I'm teaching myself how to cross stitch.Today I started and Ive been struggling quite a bit. Watch several videos and out of all of them, THIS one was the most helpful and well explained thank you
This is the best tutorial video on cross stitching that I have found! Thank you so very, very much for your instruction--I now feel confident that I can learn to cross stitch!
Great video! I needed to check how to do the second part of the cross, having done a row of half-stitches. This video was very clear and easy to understand. Thanks!
Thank you went through many videos but yours was the most helpful. And your voice is easy to listen to.. :) wish me luck making my mom something for her 50th birthday thanks to you I think I have the hang of it ..
I’m new to this channel, and I agree with the other reviewer...how can anyone give this lovely woman a thumbs down? This is wonderful information for any beginner! Thank you!
Oh my goodness This is absolutely perfect and I wish that i had watched this sooner, just about to start a bothy thread cross stitch and now I feel more confident in starting my new project Thank you so much
Terrific introduction! I lost track of the number of tip and hints you offered. I particularly liked the comments about using the scroll frame with fabric to attach the project by sewing. I made the mistake of buying a 'modern" scroll frame with Velcro tape instead of sewing and was unable to remove the residue from my crewel work. In fact, I had to give up because the wool thread colors bled with the cleaning products I tested to remove the residue!
Threading the needle. EXACTLY how my mum used to do it when I watched her repairing my clothes & exactly how my nan used to do it. I don't even need to look at what I'm doing anymore since I've been doing it for years.
What a lovely informative video. I can’t for the life of me understand anyone giving it a thumbs down! Great tip about the loop to anchor, I’ll be doing it this way from now!
Very informative and concise. I'm planning on cross stitching a christmas present using a pattern from the internet and this gave me all the information i needed thanks :)
Thank you for this, have only just done my first little cross stitich and have now ordered one of your Bothy kits, so looking forward to starting it tfshugs Cal
Thank you for making this video 😊 we love the way you demostrated the beginning and ending stiches and how to read a cross Stitch patteren👨👩👧👦 I am just starting and you make learning fun, thank you and stay safe😌
Im gunna be teaching myself cross stitch...and this video was by far the best beginning veideo ive watched so far! I make friendship bracelets with the floss. And was looking for somthing else to try. So im pretty excited (:
This is the first time I've seen a simple explanation of how the work should be mounted on a roller frame, I've double checked and on the frame I have it doesn't explain sufficiently well how to 'roll' it. I've done it the wrong way and my work has indeed rubbed and become slightly dulled/dirty (despite washing hands and not using hand cream before stitching) on the edges. Thank you, I can finally do large projects without messing up my work.
Thank you for this video. I am new to cross stitch and your video was most helpful. I did feel as if you were talking to me directly :-) I love your voice and direction; I had to follow on Facebook. Thank you from the US! I look forward to being able to complete one of your designs soon.
Can you be my grandmother and can we please cross stitch together and drink tea? On a more serious note, your video was very informative. I've never done this before but know people in my generation that do so I've been wanting to give it a good try. :)
