For Logistar, the third party logistics provider of SportVision in Serbia, DistriSort integrated a Cross Tray Sorter from @Eurosort to automate their sortation process.
The automated sortation system that has 2 induction area's, is also equiped with internal conveyors as well as a Value Added Services (VAS) area and end of line sorting conveyors.
DistriSort delivered a turn-key solution. With this sorter Logistar is able to sort multiple logistic flows on one sorter
- Inbound goods sorting (counting, stock replenishment)
- Outbound (order sorting, B2B sorting, retail replenishment)
- Returns sorting

2 induction areas for a total sorter capacity of 7,500 items per hour
And over 100 destinations (chutes) allowing Logistar to fulfill orders to more than 250 shops in Eastern Europe
And this is the process
Inbound articles arrive at the warehouse to be sorted
Orders are being picked in waves from the warehouse
Articles are brought to one of two induction areas
Where they are loaded onto conveyors to provide a continuous flow of goods for the induction operators
Items are scanned manually or automatically
The Cross Tray Sorter can handle a wide variety of items from clothing and sports items to shoe boxes
Empty cartons are being pushed underneath the sorter for reuse
No-reads (no barcode read) are being pushed onto a conveyor returning to the operator
The operator can then manually scan the articles for sorting
The sorter comes with a SCADA and wave manager for full control of the sorter
The Cross Tray Sorter sorts inside and outside; for the lowest possible footprint and efficient use of floorspace
Items are manually scanned into cartons, with Logistar's scanners linked directly to the WMS
Full cartons are pushed off underneath the sorter and travel to the VAS (Value Added Services) area
There are 8 VAS stations where shipping labels and content lists are added to the full carton
After the VAS area, full cartons travel to the End-of-Line sorter
Where they are sorted per carrier
And loaded onto pallets
