@@indiewithme The mission is called "An unfortunate series of features" and it's given by an NPC in Sapphire ridge. It's a really interesting quest.

hahaha there's a fun trivia of that character in Wervyn's guide. I dunno if you have seen them but he's a tester of Crosscode, and made a walkthrough with solutions of the game. He appears twice in the game lol once in the Last Minute heroes guild, and once in the last dungeon (DLC content). Anyway in his guide they talk about that character. And there's also this wink of the developers of leaving certain designs in the game for speedrunners to use (to break, lol). JADC tricks one of them.

@@thehumanpractice2985 Actually, they saw a speedrun and where surprised because at least 90% of the tricks used, the devs didn't even know about The character you're talking about sounds like Puella Docta right? it's the only minor NPC with a portrait i actually saw twice

Oh, like how ultrakill lets you parry your own shotgun bullets to make them hit harder.

Glad it helped! Yeah infinite dashing was kinda silly when we figured out it was just holding the dash button.

Yep the new assist system helps out a lot. People usually find this at some point during their playthrough but have problems with consistency, and it makes sense.

You and me both; I'm tempted to start another playthrough just to see what I can accomplish with this new technique.

Yeah, long jumps are a great utility thing that can break some puzzles and get you places you're not meant to be in. Not surprised that people might macro it considering the usefulness of it too.

@@Xdragon95 agreed. I’m probably gonna use it just to skip some puzzles and suchlike in maroon valley (the area I’m currently in plot wise) as there’s a lot of annoying platforming with no real way to get up to it that I’ve seen.

No problem! There's a lot of people who thought this to be patched but the devs have purposely kept this in and make reference to what it used to be called somewhere in the game.

Yeah, this is really helpful. I actually relied a lot on your speedruns when I rushed through the game again while undergeared/underleveled to get some trophies. You could do some boss guides.

Yeah, these videos don't take a lot of work to make compared to my speedguide videos. I just need to make some templates first to help move things faster. Create a tutorial any% speedrun go!

Long jump with attack you have less frames and can be finicky. So, just practice it

@@yeetyeet8903 Tried it earlier today to snag some extra chests I was missing. It definitely takes practice. Hardest part for me is ensuring I have jumped first. But oooooooh man is this tech a life saver when you can perform it. Also made use of the infinite daah to save time. It's a whole new game!

I know that on PC there is a dedicated guard button, it'd be odd for that to be omitted from the switch version. As for the long jumps they should all be possible with appropriately timed button presses

@@Xdragon95 There are two guard buttons for some dumb reason, and you can't re-map them, one for just guard, the other is the same as dash. You have to be moving in a direction and then dash, otherwise you just end up guarding. And nah doesn't seem like it, since you said to dash after the swipe, and that's not possible with a single input. I've tried it forever with different methods, it just cancels the jump and I fall.

@@Xdragon95 Scratch that, you're right, the longjump seemingly is possible, tried it again now with R then L, that worked but it's awfully finicky.

They haven't changed anything about that.

I also can't seem to get the double dash working with mouse and keyboard (using melee). Some jumps do get extended with double dash but other seem to always fail. Not sure if its me.

@@Xdragon95 I can consistently get both the long jump and the double-dash long jump working, but as far as distance? the "long" jump doesn't get as far as you show in the vid (getting a bit less distance than a normal jump), and the double-dash long jump gets you as far as the normal long jump in your vid does...

@@edale2 Nothing has changed. If you aren't getting the distance then you probably aren't cancelling fast enough.

I can also confirm that everything is still possible on my end.

Options > Click the Controller > Gamepad Icons = Dualshock

For controller at least... This one seems like a placebo effect lol

if the macro does both at the same time its not going to work, there needs to be a delay between your first action and dashing, as for distance it doesn't add much but a decent amount of puzzles and rooms can be broken thanks to this. In fact, you can't make either jump, top or bottom without using a dash inbetween

I learned long jumping during the demo and as a result I've abused it for getting some collectibles early lol

I learned it during my first run and used it to save time in dungeons so I could beat Emilie.

This is in fact NOT an intended function of the game and was purposefully left in the game by the developers because it didn't truly break the game for casual players. There's even an easter egg hidden somewhere that's only accessible through some form of long jump. Also "more shittier"? You must be crazy.

I've got others saying that it still works. I know that the code is roughly the same between the pc and console versions so I'm sure these still work.

@@Xdragon95 hmm. Maybe I'm using killer instinct timing when I should be using tekken. Regardless I can't seem to get it to work on xbone.

The long jump was actually intended from the beggining, not a bug An NPC makes one during a quest about bugging the game

Nothing has changed since this video has been posted, if it's not working for you then work on the timing. It's jump, action (throw, shield or attack), then dash

@@Xdragon95 after i jump and do the melee attack, i can´t dash and simply fall.

@@virgomaquiavelico58 then you're more than likely meleeing too early, you need to make sure that you've completed the process of jumping before inputting a melee, its just a slight delay
