Malheiros said in a interview that is weigthlifting coach, is the same guy that coaches the Brazilian weigthlifting team. Looked like he could keep on going for a few more rounds. Great video :)
Love the respect for the sport. And that you called out the announcer, Chase, on head position...dude talks and talks and talks and a good percentage of it is nonsense.
I like Tommy, and I think Shawn Woodland does a good job and stays in his lane. I don't remember if Pat Sherwood said stupid stuff, but I kinda miss him. Chase has se valuable insight but tries to fill all the dead air and ends up saying stuff like, "It takes energy to stand." ...yeah. It takes energy to talk. Save your energy.
@@stephenr85 ya i was thinking about this more today and i think you are right. he does a good job for the large majority of ppl watching who wouldnt know the difference of what he says. but sometimes he just talks a bit too much. i dont think pat ever commentated live events? i thought he was always in the post recap type stuff. and sean is the best.
Zack, I bet my pants you'll be coaching a Crossfit athlete very soon. I think you're dragging a lot of attention from the Crossfit community with these awesome reviews, hence Craig Richey is commenting on this video.
23:05 this part!! the whole “keep your head up/he’s looking down” thing drives me insane and OF COURSE they had to say that about literally the man who’s got such a solid and gorgeous head position in his catch 😭😭😭
Really appreciate listening to your commentary on all the Games lifting events. Super cool that you are so respectful about CF athletes yet still honest about everyone’s technique. Any chance you would ever go watch the Games live? I know there is a pretty large CF community that follows you and would love to meet you.
Yo coach Z can you please do a video about different body types for weightlifting and how lifters optimise their form for their anatomy? Thanks for all the weightlifting content btw
Hey great to run across one of your videos on my suggested viewing! Been a while since I trained with you at Texas A&M rugby and pumped to see your channel doing so well. About to share this with the rest of the boys!
LOVED watching this, Houdet really impressed me in that event, I really never saw him in prior events and I was like who dat?! Gui is a gifter lifter for sure, Fikowski is great too!
23:13 Thank you for calling out Chase Ingraham. This dude has a ridiculous track record of talking nonsense and advising the exact opposite of good technique/strategy. There was a 550 yard sprint event and every heat he would go on about how it was not a good idea to go all in from the start and how you should pace yourself and maybe fall back a little bit.
Super fun to watch you break down the CrossFit lifts!! It's very interesting to listen to the tweaks in techniques you recommend as the person is coming off heavy lifts. All around awesome content, mad respect for all that you do. Long time subscriber here, keep doing a good job man!
Damn that's some nice green screen technique! I did love staring at the blinds on your door in the past, but I'll adjust to the new format. Excellent breakdown. Production value is making sick gainz!
This years games was pretty awesome. It was a fight to the top for the men side. Unlike that past few years where Fraser wins almost every event and everyone else is just competing for 2nd place.
Big CrossFit fan (have been going to a CrossFit gym for 4 years) I really enjoy the honest review and it’s exciting to try and add your critiques into what I work on. And finally somebody points out that the announcers are just talking to talk. Great video!
So glad this was the first video of actual crossfit that I watched. Now I know that it's possible to actually learn good form while being involved with that whole thing. Thanks for giving actual constructive criticism, and praise. Really informative and fun video.
I think it would be really cool to see other weightlifting competitions use this format. There are more areas for drama throughout the competition with the second attempt with time running out and the tiebreaker. One might also say it does a better job of determining the best weightlifter as everyone lifts the same weights. I was there live and it was definitely the highlight of the weekend.
Great video. I am not a lifter but enjoy your insights and calling a spade a spade without needless hating on Crossfit like so many others do. Your commentary is informative, funny, and entertaining.
Broo¡! you roasting the announcer was the best, I've been saying it for years. That specific guy gets stuff wrong way too often is not even funny anymore. A couple of years ago he said Cody Anderson was not going to be able to finish a heavy clean event. (he crushed it). This year he said Mal OBrien strategy was bad on the Thrusters and wall walks event because she was going unbroken. (she won the event. is so funny dude
Great evaluations. These athletes should watch this vid, they can learn a thing or two. I started CrossFit 2 years ago but I moved gradually towards more oly over CrossFit training in the week. I love oly! I consider myself a beginner working on 50 kg snatches, my max clean and jerk is 70 kg but I am absolutely confident that when I get my technique better and lift more consistent I can do so much better with my current physique. Keep up the good work, your vids are great.
Great tips on technique. Not just ripping into CrossFitters, but actually pointing out what needs to be improved. Please do some technique vidoes that we can use to improve our own form. Really liKe your videos.
I am a masters CrossFit athlete 60 yo with no weightlifting background. I made it to the games this year. My lifting is one of my weakest movements, specifically snatches. do you know a coach here in the Orlando FL area that might want to work with me?
You know what video you should make? A video commentating on the commentators during these events! Because I always feel like the cues they give are... not good.
Man I loved you video! Finally a weightlifter that want to help the crossfit community not just shit on it. Looking forward to your content! (the part about medeiros had me laughing not gonna lie lol)
Great video! The big 3 seem to be consistent as far as faults/proper technique. Lower hips starting, chin through (stack your body and posture) in the catch and move around the bar and you’ll go a long way. Quite a few brutes got a long way but some of those (not simple by any means after your motor patterns have been established a certain way for so long) fixes would dramatically raise their numbers.
As ex basketball player I worked out with olympic weightlifters. I was lucky that my cousin was one of the better competitors in my country. I worked a lot on technique before trying any serious weight. I can honestly say that olympic training has made me so much better athlete and player. Respect to anyone lifting weights like these
Every pair of Nike’s you see there is the Metcon 7. Wide + flat outsole, lock down laces, and a 7mm drop from heel to toe. I have ditched my Reebok Legacy Lifters and lift in my 7’s only now.
My only problem with Metcons is that Nike shoes in general are just too narrow for my wide ass feet, which is why I wear a Nano X. How would you say the Metcon 7 compares to earlier Metcons in terms of width?
@@Benebazsi Nikes are narrow in the midfoot. These are no exception. But the outsole itself is very blocky, and actually widens out despite the tight grip that you would feel around the foot. AsManyReviewsAsPossible breaks it down well.
Another excellent video. I feel there is not enough focus on technique in Crossfit. It’s all about powering through and hitting PRs without looking at bulletproofing the lift. Hence the high amount of injuries.
I love the commentary, great to hear constructive criticism on these guys technique, gives me ideas on what to work on... and the side comments are hilarious to ha ha
Great video. Vardanian has a very different pull though - his hips shoot up a lot - remnant of the no contact era and then he swings back while Malheiros is very upright with low hips kinda like some of the Chinese
In all fairness vardanyan was snatching in the 170s in that video. They are similar in the sense that they both have very straight pulls without too much of a violent and loud extension.
