I never had the pleasure of using Louie's machine, but I did do Reverse Hypers. Without a doubt, the best exercise for any athlete. It'll increase speed, strength, Vertical Leap etc. Want to increase your deadlift, Squat, do Reverse Hypers. And you'll be able to do them Pain FREE once you've strengthened your, hamstrings, low back & glutes with the Reverse Hypers.
it didn't "fix" his lower back as in healing the bones, joints and ligaments, it fixed his back by first, restoring its strength, then by making it even stronger over a longer range of motion. And really, he could be in the journal, but people are pretty ignorant to new ideas when it conflicts with what they think they know as true- even doctors are like this.
Ok so will a reverse hyper be good for my lower back buldging disk? There are positive and negative comments on line about this machine? Also what's the exact purpose of this machine, is it to build muscle in legs/hamstrings/butt or in your back?
@@claudius_drusus_ thanks a million for your comment... I was looking for hope, I have a disc bulge at L5-S1 with an annular tear and was in doubt whether to do reverse extensions.
I'm a powerlifter, and Louie Simmons is a beast and a visionary, but acupuncture, acupressure, stretch, and reverse hypers won't fix a broken back. If they did, he would be in the Journal of the American Medical Association by now.
We know that in the case of disc herniations that surgery is about as good as waiting a year with physical therapy. I’m not saying one exercise is a cure all. But safe ways to strengthen the lower spine is vital for long term back health.
@@KalispellBarbell a reverse hyper machine isn’t going to fix a fractured vertebrae. Only surgery will do that. The reverse hyper however can be terrific for maintaining lower back health and strength
So what?! It’s no secret Louie has and continues to use steroids. The only difference between Lou and the Westside crew and other athletes is they’re open about it.
***** the name of the exercise is a reverse hyper extension, but normally when some one is saying that u are hyper extending your self during an exercise it means that ur movement within the exercise is to wide/much.
The lumbar spine has a normal amount of extension, which is the range of motion you should train with the Reverse Hyper. The term "hyperextension" refers to extending the joints (in this case, the lumbar spine) TOO MUCH which can cause disc herniation. Extensions on the Reverse Hyper machine = good. Hyperextension of the lumbar spine (especially under load) = bad
