Great video and awesome scenery. A big NO to franchises in Belize. Belize is so unique, let's keep it that way! To know you can live a life eating healthy and affordable food on a daily basis is priceless. In my opinion, no other country in the world does it better, freedom to own land and eat healthily because it is so affordable in Belize. Remember, one of the greatest gift is health which is indeed our wealth.

I've been thinking about moving to Belize for over 10 years. Now with my lifestyle I can make it possible. I most definitely do not want a McDonald's there because Americans fast food restaurants are not up to standard like they used to be. So I want to get away from bad food and only seek to improve my health with fresh food ONLY. I LOVE BELIZE for keeping it fresh.💜💜💜

OMG! Love this video! My spanish is about like Shane's....lol. I love McDonald's french fries but we (I'm including myself) DO NOT need franchises in Belize. Part of why we're relocating to Belize is to escape the bad food that gives us heartburn and diabetes! Yes, I said it 🤣😂
The lack of "Americanization" in Belize is the main draw for us. Hope they keep it that way for years to come because we are hoping to make a permanent move soon! Why would they want 'franken food'? Local, farm to table is the way! 🥰

I'm really happy for not having any franchise restaurant. Makes visiting much better as you only experience Belizian restaurants. Going back to my visit to Grenada in 2019 trying to experience local food. And every local would give us the same answer to the question what is your favourite food??? KFC That didn't make for a great culinary travelling experience.
I’m a big believer in supporting local businesses. Helps with the Belize economy and the traditional atmosphere of the island. Side note - Will never so many people happy to see you with you giving out all those Big Macs 😂. Awesome!

No one needs McDonalds though so it's better off without the Franchise besides McD's is actually more of a real estate company than a fast food chain when you look at the portfolio. Disney also acts similarly too them with the corporate land grabs, so the minute you bring them in the minute individual families and natives will begin having to fight for their property rights.

No American fast food for me! Lived without it in Tokyo although they did attempt to copy McDonald's- smaller proportions ! I'm coming down whether I win or not Will!! Gotta see if Idalia flooded my home first. They won't let us back on our island as it flooded over night. (Siesta Key, Florida) 😢

I would love to come out to Belize! I have wanted to buy some property there since 2019. Ever since I have been researching and planning on how to make it happen. I gave myself until the age of 23 and here I am now looking to make that dream a reality. I am also a Realtor here in the US so one day I would love to get it there as well

This is a unique and great vid! As Belizean Mi seh YES to franchises. Why can't Belize get wit d times like every other Central American and Caribbean country and give our people more options? You dont like it? Dont order it 🤷🏾♂️ At least weh den have d best of both worlds! Amazing local foods, with the option of McDonald's for a treat! Even the tiny Cayman Islands 🇰🇾 has a Burger King and they have way less people soooo bring it 🤤

i feel like american restaurant franchises wouldnt work here because belizeans love local more, but, moving away from food, other american stores like nike, apple, or a mall, would thrive here, but you know thats just my 5cents in the conversation

We loved Belize and Ambergris Caye 20 yrs ago. Can't wait to see it again. It would be so cool to see the changes in Ambergris and Caye Caulker. How is the snorkeling at the mini blue hole of Ambergris? No fast food needed! Keep it natural and keep the profits local.
😂 in the late 1970's there was a Kentucky Fried Chicken that closed down because someone sued for unsanitary conditions. Furthermore, a franchise of any kind is very expensive and Belizeans don't care for American food !!

I'm good with not having American fast food restaurants. To us, the whole point of immersing yourself in another culture is to adopt their culture, not try to make theirs the same as yours...
My vote will be a big fat NO, let the local restaurant owners get the money. The people of Belize don't want to consume all of the harmful chemical they use in their food.
