This video is in answer to a questions regarding the cross hands and then drop in goju-ryu's Kururunfa kata. We demonstrate a couple of application examples, and then show the context, in addition to Michelle Sensei explaining about 3D kata application.

In Goju Kai (Yamaguchi lineage) we break the arm over our sholder, and don't throw the uke in the standard bunkai. I guess the kneeling is not as prominent. I have also seen that some uses the spin of the body to really twist the arm and with a tight grip of the wrist the opponent will get twisted as well. Don't know how practical it is though since the "don't leave the arm in the air" as Michelle said :).

Maybe in there are three stances: one shoulder, the other and at last the twisting forearm or wrist whith more or less elbow flexion. But although you are right in the original and standard bunkai there are variants in which we all should practice and discover subtle compehensions. Respects and Domo arigato.

You are exactly right. This BS above is what happens when phony's think they know what the real technique is. Yamaguchi's Goju kai is crap and now it is some clown in Australia.
