one nice reference you missed is when they use the pen device to restore their powers, the sound it makes is the sound of Rex using his Nanites from Generator Rex
I love how they included Generator Rex, Symbionic Titans, and a bunch of other shows I used to love. So much nostalgia! However, I'm kind of sad they didn't even make a tiny reference to The Secret Saturdays. At least not one I could spot.
I love how Ben turned into Jake and Verhious first when he gets his omnitrix back since they Were shown on the villains Gauntlet before they got there!
It's not Verhious it's Prohyas. Who funny enough I pretended that he was a part of the group of heroes in this episode (because I wished that he was) up to the point when the episode actually aired. I never thought that they WOULD have him there after all (not in the way I wanted but still) but then again I'm not surprised since I'm psychic.
ObjectShowFan2007 Yeah, I later learned how the creators made an announcement about both Class of 3000 and The Secret Saturdays through a tweet. It's too bad how they had to be cut out for time, but at least they were almost considered to make the cut.
I love how all of the crossovers from OK KO are just bringing back our childhood when it had crossovers of this, Captain Planet, and "you know who" from Monster Party episode!
8:46 "The show is called Villainous! How is he a hero?!" Simple. He sells weapons to other villains. He's a hero for villains. Or... He's the "hero" of his own story.
Did you knew that he sold the villain of the crossover the weapon he uses? Also... it manages that wasn't Black Hat himself, it was his clone from one of the shorts.
Not gonna lie, before I watched this episode, I thought it was just gonna be okay. But when was watching this I was smiling and calling out all the references I remembered. This episode was just an overall delight. And yes, seeing Ben's final punch transformations with the Cartoon Cartoon theme playing touched my heart😭💓!

I think the reason why Strike took out Black Hat wasn’t because Strike considered him as a hero, but rather because Black Hat IS a villain. Unlike heroes, who normally can put aside their differences to work together against a great threat, villains rarely ever team-up and if they do, it’s usually very short-lived as they’ll constantly argue amongst themselves and try to backstab each other and/or try to steal each other’s powers for themselves later on. I wouldn’t be surprised if Black Hat tried to take out Strike by himself so he could steal his pen for his own evil deeds. Essentially, Black Hat was a lesser of two evils compared to Strike and a bigger threat to Strike’s conquest of getting rid of the heroes of Cartoon Network’s multiverse.
I was REALLY SURPRISED how many different CN shows they were able to cram into this 15 minute special! There were even shows I forgot about and/or didn’t know existed until I seen the special. It was a great run time and they did a excellent job of making this work. Excellent job Mr. Awestruckvox fir breaking down this special! 👍👍☺️☺️
Honestly if CN City comes out today it wouldn't cost that much money, I mean animation had developed and changed over the years. I mean look at gumball, it has a lot of art styles and it looks amazing. I mean yes gumball does take forever to animate but I mean CN City was only little commercials. It would actually make sense to bring it back know but i doubt they will. But I mean they should! I mean they could add more shows to the line up -Adventure time -Regular Show -The amazing world of gumball -Steven Universe -Clarance -OK KO -Over the garden wall -Unkitty -new teen Titans (I hate the show but I mean it's still a show in CN -ben 10 -Infinity Train -Craig of the Creek -Uncle Grandpa And so much more
on latin america they kinda had a recap show that eventually started crossing over the shows and building inside jokes, it now has a plot about the secret society of secondary character and it's the closest we'll get to CN city. they tried to air it on the US but it got immediatly cancelled and only season one is dubbed
“Was it the best ever? No, but it made me happy” is the best sentiment I’ve ever heard from this type of video. If it’s a cartoon, and it makes you happy, then it’s worth watching!!
I gotta admit I was skeptical of this as I’m not a fan of modern CN nor do I approve of the new Ben 10 reboot but the sheer attention to detail and fan service got me
@@Player-re9mo yeah what this episode should have done was have Ben stuck as his 15 year old self and had him return to the reboot at the end knowing humungosaur and rath were going to appear in the Omnitrix later on
What would happen in the other 11 minutes. Like I'm sad that the episode was so short, but what else would they add to make the episode 22 minutes long? Maybe, it would be like the 100th anniversary of Warner Bros. special of TTG where many different cameos from old Cartoon Network/Warner Bros. in a 22 minute special.
Surprised they didn't reference Total Drama considering how big of an important hit it was for Cartoon Network. I feel like that was the show that really revived the network (it even came before Adventure Time). Maybe because it's not a CN original series.
This episode was like if they took my childhood and middle school favorite CN characters, and mashed them together to hit me with a bullet train of pure joy and nostalgia (Seeing Chowder, Schnitzel, Captain K'nuckles, Mordedi, Finn and Jake, Wirt and Greg, the original white bumper commercial characters, high-five ghost, Gumball, Grim, Courage, past version of Ben 10, *the list can go on* )
So thats why nothing dies. Grim has been petrified. If safe to assume Mandy and billy has been also since i doubt Mandy would just let assault on her property, without consequence
I could only imagine what an ∞ level Pow Card would be like. ✨ Epic/Legendary (above Ultra Rare), Gold border frame, 3D, and $ very expensive $. Only someone who has god-like powers and is very well known around the world would have this.
I did enjoy this crossover overall. It was also neat for them to acknowledge some of the obscure and most forgotten CN properties (especially Moxy---from a very first* CN original show).
I remember the old Cartoon Network shows of the past including Ed, Edd, and Eddy, KND, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Camp Lazlo, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, Chowder, Flapjack, Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends, etc. My childhood to my mid high school years between 1999 and 2010
They referenced The Moxy Show. THEY REFERENCED THE MOXY SHOW. For those who don’t understand the significance, The Moxy Show has not been referenced in any media produced by CN or WB since its cancellation. It was even snubbed from the 20th and 25th anniversaries. To see OK K.O. reference it was amazing!
I have a feeling that the CN City is implied to be like an alternate version of each show connected in one place, with the studio being where they all work and the city area where they hang around at afterwards. This would be why there's a Gars Bodega right around the corner despite KO and the others being transported there from other dimensions (like there are different non-canon versions of them already living in the city)
@@MarioKaiba how old are you because when I was a kid yes it was owned by wb but also played on cartoon Network so as I said it most likely is from Shaolin showdown and I know it's spelled with an x who cares you don't hear people running around say k-nife do you 😒
I really hope that there's a sequel. KO still doesn't know about Garnet being a fusion and Garnet still doesn't know about TKO which would be really cool to explore later.
@@WinderBlitz Lol I know, right? I get they can only fit so much in 11 minutes but I feel that was a missed opportunity along with the other characters reacting to the fact that Garnet was actually a fusion all along.
How does one take into account shows like Code Lyoko, Totally Spies, Amazing Spiez, Pokémon, Sailor Moon, and Bakugan Battle Brawlers. They are all foreign shows that at one point or another have aired on Cartoon Network US/Toonami US, yet some how most if not all of them are aired on at least one of the international branches of Nickelodeon and Disney. Not just their home country's exclusive networks. Why is that?
Theory: This is what Garnet's Universe actually was. (I know that's a leap, but..) Imagine Steven asking her (just like he did in Garnet's Universe) "What did you do today, Garnet?" Garnet would say, "What do you think I did today?" Steven would get his starry eyes, "I think you met heroes from other dimensions! You fought off a huge villain and saved the world! (Yada yada yada more details)." Garnet would say, "Yeah, that's pretty much it." It would be cute.
I’m a sucker for crossovers and I love the idea that they all live together in this huge city. I also love the idea that the bump mascots (noods specifically but idk there could be others I missed) are sort of the protectors of the city; it’s the perfect analogy. They’re responsible for helping the cartoons, both transition to each other in our world and survive in their world.
Kinda touched ben didn't transform to mordacai/Rigby after finn and went wooooooooooooooo, would have capped it off nicely cause the 2 shows were basically sibling shows
Really do love the crossover. Wish it was a full on movie. It would've been amazing to see the CN City in its entirety and have more characters showing up. Well, at least it was ULTIMATEly fun.
They should have referenced some adult swim cartoons like robot chicken or boondocks. But, you pretty much hit on the head that it had its glory days and now its pretty much behind them at this point. Rip late 90s - early 00s you will all ways have a place in my ❤
duuuude. omygod, (im from mexico, so i got to see the toonix era firsthand) i remember they would take random toonix that were made by the viewers. i FRIKIN HAD MINE COME OUT IN A COMMERCIAL IN BETWEEN AN EPISODE OF BEN 10. i dont remember which episode, other than that it was the original ben 10, but my little toonix dude came out with the name i gave him and everything. it was honestly the coolest thing i ever saw, my neighbour came over to my house the next day and said he literaly was screaming in his room when he saw it (he was there with me while i made it). god, the memories :')
I got chills and teared up watching the special, the wave of nostalgia was so great from it. I'm hoping this crossover paves the way for more crossover events in the future and potentially a new Punch Time Explosion game.
They even acknowledged the ancient and obscure Moxxy, and the forgotten crap cartoons no one cares about. But oh man, I'm so happy to see the Cartoon Network city again, with Finn and Jake's tree fort and Mung Daal's catering company added to it.
Not all forgotten CN shows are bad, though, "Sym-Bionic Titan" and "Megas XLR" are pretty obscure shows nowadays but they're still some of the greatest series the channel has ever aired
I loved this episode! I don't make fan games and this may sound stupid, but I've had this idea for a Smash Bros-style fan game that would celebrate CN's history. If I were to ever make it, I'd use this awesome special for more ideas.
@@EricAssenmacher I know about that, but my idea includes EEnE, Robot Jones, Juniper Lee, Gumball, Steven Universe, and various other shows that have been on CN and Boomerang (It would also include Adult Swim and Toonami, but those wouldn't get too much representation for obvious reasons).
You say you dont make games but why not? If youve got an idea the only thing stopping you from doing it is yourself. Why not learn the skills and do it? Dont limit yourself because you dont normally do something
Holy shit I was ready for this episode to be garbage but it ended up being a nostalgia bomb like I could never have imagined. This is the most amazing crossover special ever in terms of callbacks and nostalgia and cartoon history.
Agreed, i thought this was going to be meh and a forgettable ep, but I was so wrong. This is one of the best things CN has released ever and I thank Ian jq especially for it
Here's an interesting analysis I've heard someone make after they watched the promo for this. In the scene where Raven was carrying everyone, this person made a rather head-scratching description of it. He said Raven having no difficulty in carrying everyone symbolizes the strong presence TTG has on the network still. Garnet was hanging onto her leg, while carrying K.O. on her head; symbolizing how SU is "holding on strong" while carrying OK KO with it. Lastly, the person said the way Ben struggled to hang onto Garnet symbolized how the Ben 10 reboot is struggling to hold onto its place within the network. Naturally, I thought it was a farfetched; especially the part with Raven (or TTG) being the stronger one in the group. As of late, TTG doesn't seem to have as strong of a hold on things as it once did. But what say you to this
@Pharell Scott It's just sad and pitiful that TTG, of all things is what's keeping the network going. Whatever happened to quality programming with good stories, likable characters and relatable scenarios. Sure, Craig of the Creek and even Apple & Onion have this...but CN BARELY gives their new content screentime. Instead, it prefers to show their "golden child;" Titans Go
theory lord black hat made the pen weapon for strike but instead him pay for it instead betrayed lord black hat took his powers and turned him to stone
It's kinda interesting how most of the X'ed out Cn Cast sport Identical poses to Either Promotional Images or even Character Model sheets (Examples being Rex, Duncan, and Courage sporting poses from posters, dvd covers, and action shots)
I don't have an in canon reason But the animators probably just used pre-existing art for each character to save time and make everyone recognizable, since it would have taken awhile to make new art for everyone, and some characters might not be recognizable if they were drawn in the OK KO style
I’m almost 30 and I’ve never seen this Nexus thing before. Actually got a little misty-eyed watching you go through all these references. I had no idea these cartoons meant so much to me. They really were my friends when I was a lonely little kid
What IS the greatest crossover you've ever seen? Because that one was for sure the best one I've ever seen, crossovers usually leave a lot to be desired, but this one gave me everything I never asked for and more and it was amazing. AND it's honestly the reason I started watching OK KO, I saw the clip of Ben's power punch turning into all of the characters and I hadn't actually heard of the show before so I was like WAAAAAAAAAAAA
After watching this episode I gotta say this was amazing! Seeing the Easter eggs and cameos of my favorite characters from my favorite cartoon network shows really brought me back to my childhood😂SO MUCH NOSTALGIA!!!!!😃😃😁😁😁🤣🤣 when Ben transforms into the cartoon network characters my eyes were felt with tears of joy😂 It s so good to see the cn city is still here
This was a really great crossover and with the CN references 🤗💖. Sadly this was short, but great though. Please tell me if they will reunite again in the future or rather yet hopefully K.O and Garnet see each other's again 🎉⭐️.
I'm seeing a lot of comments on here involving Fusionfall. For anyone here who is a Fusionfall Fan, the game is actually back! If you look up Fusionfall Retro, you'll find that a group of players actually revived the *_entire_* game as of 2010, and it's exactly the same. It was released about a month ago, and it's almost fully functional. Come play with us!
Even though they didn't show mostly all the cartoons in Crossover Nexus, I still literally cried when I saw my childhood reimbursed in this. Its still making me cry to be honest. I loved it.
was kinda expecting Holo Jane to be involved, given she refrenced the cartoon multiverse before, and has the power to not only transverse it, but to see the 4th wall effects
I'm watching this on my birthday, and I miss those old shows. The Nostalgia gets me a tad sad but I'm alright, those shows were part of my childhood growing up. It was sad to see them go, I like that they did this, it's so nice to see them again.
Those were the days when CN had all the characters interact with each other but we hardly see any of it now. Not the same anymore but brings back so many memories of my childhood!
Look, the episode was nice and trust me: i had a blast seeing all these homages to classic CN and their shows... But my god was a let down of a special. It was too short, the villain is forgettable (seriously, they just said it and i forgot it. Was it strip? Or sting? Who cares) and what could have been a great climax with all the characters defeating Villain knock-off just flopped on its face. Though, the episode works great thanks to KO and Garnet.
In terms of story, yes. This was very basic. A bunch of heroes are brought to this dimension and have to defeat a villain in order to get home. But it doesn't really need to be any more complicated than that. The villain might be forgettable but that's because he's probably one-off. They don't want you to remember him they want you to remember all the great times you had/have watching CN.
*+crcoghill* Did you know that the writers wanted the special to be half an hour long? All that was cut short (pun totally intended) when the CN staff decided it should be 11 minutes long and the writers had to modify the story.
I LOVED WATCHING THE EPISODE OVER AND OVER, LOOKING AT WHAT I MISSED OR NOT, THIS VID GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS CAUSE IT POINTED OUT THINGS I MISSED, OOOOOOO GOOSEBUMPS
Is the episode canon to any of the shows? I would think it would at least be canon to OK K.O. because he has Garnet’s hero card but I’m not sure. I know it’s definitely not canon to Steven Universe but what about the other 3 shows?
This was my favorite OK KO episode better yet an awesome crossover episode I've seen. It was a great love letter for everyone who grew up watching Cartoon Network.
