What's better: small step crossover or big - longer - steps?
@AlpineIceFreestyle

Whatever feels better for you. Hockey players should go for small ones, speedskaters for long ones

I' d say master quick steps coz it will help you manover betweet medicore skaters like a pro. Long steps are classy tho!

I don't know how to practice my weak side, our rink is always packed, you have no chance of going into the other direction without endangering everyone 😂 I don't even know how you get to film on an almost empty rink like this. We only have one rink within the next 70km so everyone goes there!

To answer both questions with one sentence: In the off season rinks are not that crowded😉

I've been trying to these on rentals since I'm still waiting to get my new T-Blades. And i only really got into Ice skating this season. Is it a problem of the blades sharpness that when i try to go from inside to outside edge while I'm moving, that I'm literally just sliding away to the sides on the foot I'm trying to switch inside to outside from

I'm also able to skate quite well. I can go quite fast and braking is also not much of a problem. So I'm just wondering if the sharpness just works for those things but is just too dull for crossovers. Since i don't remember when i ever had actual sharp as in sharp on rentals

Can be a issue of the sharpness but also a lack of tension in your ankles

Thanks for the answer. Fault actually was the skates, haha. First tried T-Blades 3 days ago after getting them and i was able to do Crossovers after 5 minutes. 😂

The proper fitting boot probably helped alot too in terms of stability however

I have a question regarding the amount of leaning when doing crossovers. I can do crossovers, maybe not the best ones, but they work. . But i feel like i lean in way less than the people i see doing crossovers usually are. As in my skates stay pretty straight horizontaly and i‘m just focusing on being on the outside edge and not about leaning into the curve that much. Is this a problem and should i work on leaning my skates alot more towards the ice or is this okay?

Leaning also depends on the speed. More speed - more leaning
