I like how every time they need to decompress or do a celebration, the figure skaters just start spinning

It’s so weird to see people that are terrible at hockey just skating away gracefully. I’m so used to seeing new hockey players that can’t skate either

I absolutely love how the figure skaters where exited to do something they aren't usually allowed to do, like five year olds when you give them "secret" candy (as in don't tell your mom I have you this, she said only one candy but the mom is literally in ear shot).

For anyone that doesn’t know, the blades are completely different. If you’re used to figure skates or goalie skates with flat blades, regular player hockey skates feel like rocking chairs on your feet. They did an awesome job.

funny story, the philadelphia flyers hired a figure skater in 80's to help the defencemen with their skating. the players laughed and said to the figure skater what she thought she could teach them. the figure skater ( a girl ) asked the coach who their fastest skater was. she then challenged him to a race around the ice. she then beat him skating backwards.

Now I want a hockey player to perform an axel in a game after they've scored a goal. That is all I want.

You can really see their experience in figure skating in the way they move their feet alone. They never transfer to their toes, even when doing crossovers

This is great. Especially Elliot's quite unique mix of elegance, enthusiasm and Bambi like awkwardness.

It's interesting that the figure skaters were fearless and the hockey players were a little nervous, I wonder if it's because the hockey players removed their gear so felt vulnerable and the figure skaters were more protected than usual 🤔 😊❤

As someone who figure skated for ten years and played hockey for six I really appreciated this video. It shows how surprisingly nimble a hockey player has to be and how even simple maneuvers require proper balance and coordination, not to mention an honest effort.

Lol @ the hockey player explaining crossovers to figure skaters. I've played hockey my whole life and the most impressive thing I've ever seen on the ice was a nationally ranked figure skater doing backwards crossovers. The amount of speed he picked up instantly was mind blowing.

Eliot's celebration was amazing HAHAHA it's amazing to see how natural both the figure skaters and hockey players are on the ice which is already a great skill but still struggle to do the other skills, really makes you realise how much you need to learn to be good at either

I’m a figure skater, I recently joined the boys hockey team since they convinced me to do so. And it’s so much fun. For me the skating isn’t really the problem, it’s the stick control for me haha

I love how figure skating is diametrically opposed to hockey, and yet we share the common ground of the ice. As a figure skater myself, I found this quite fun to watch!

It's strange seeing people that can skate well struggle with sticks and pucks. You're so used to seeing people try hockey for the first time that have never skated before just falling all over the place. Cool video.

I think the figure skaters were such good sports(pun intended) for doing this. it was fun watching them and they deserve a lot of credit. But that small girl. OMG, let her practice for a week and I bet she would be pretty good. I do wish they had shown them trying to check each other though. i think that would have been really funny.

hockey hall of famer Scott Niedermayer who was known for his smooth powerful skating, took figure skating and power skating when he was a kid.

Nichelle was a better coach overall. She broke it down step by step, was patient, and educated them in an easy way whereas the coach left out some important information which he was asked such as keeping your eye on the target when shooting; a minor oversight; however, this was to beginners. He is used to players already having those skills and Nichelle taught the skills. I think she'd probably make a good teaching coach and those are the best ones because they can truly "see" players and will be able to make in-game adjustments advice which can be a difference maker. Dig this vid and the other where they learn figure skating. Jumping the boards was my fave segment.

I've been a figure skater since I was 3 (18 years of experience now). I've put on hockey skates one singular time in my life and I kept falling forwards and backwards. The blade length is so short in comparison and that is so hard to adjust to!

The figure skaters’ sheer excitement in jumping the boards and breaking the rules is just so wholesome

This is one of the funnest videos I’ve ever seen! Seeing the figure skaters learning hockey was like seeing two siblings who never met before meeting for the first time, seeing the joy in discovering both their similarities and differences and having so much fun while doing so!

Watching the other one before this ... Figure skaters are soo much braver; understandably so. What they do they do with out protection and with step after step choreography. It was the most joy to see them excited and happy with their plays.

This is so wholesome and fascinating. It's really cool to see these two disciplines learn a little bit of respect for each other. I've watched it multiple times.

As a figure skating coach who also coaches little kids hockey, I love this!!

It was absolutely adorable how much fun they had when they learned to jump over the board. And I definitely saw it coming that they gonna put some figure skating elements in their celes. ^^

For both being played on ice, they are done so differently. Like Eliot said, to see the connection that felt very far before come together. I think both have skills that can be useful to the other. Would be cool to see more people learn both and use what they learn to better themselves at the one they do. Like maybe the pivots and turns they learned in hockey could come into play for figure skating. Maybe the hockey players can take something they learned in figure skating and apply it to hockey.

This was so much fun to watch. Their energy is infectious. Angela BROUGHT IT!
