Beneath the ruins of man I've learned to take my time You may not understand The things that burn my mind. Before I'm gone Conquer it all Hope still not gone Conquer it On to the road I've paved I feel the burning sun It's my own life I've saved I'm not the only one. I found a new man underneath
First Crowbar song I ever listened. Made me decide to buy a guitar and a roland microcube. Cant play for shit or name a chord to save my life, playing crowbar and slayer riffs is enough for me.
met Kirk in nashville at exit in back in 2012 w/ Prong...me and brother was walking behind venue to get inside to watch them and we heard a voice say hey guys whats up..it was kirk..he offered us a tour of his van...we bought him a beer and talked..was a cool dude..after me and brother returned to front door..went in watched an amazing Crowbar/Prong set..after show we bumped into Tommy Victor for about a 30 minute talk...was epic..will never forget that...not that anyone cares..just thought id share..CROWBAR \m/
God damn. The most depressing thing when is was locked up.....reading the news & I find out crowbar is playing close to my home that night, in an itty bitty little venue. & I only had a few weeks left on my sentence. Felt so hopeless. Never getting in trouble again, fuckin A.
I know the feeling. I waited for years for Doug Stanhope to come around and when he did I bought tickets and had a huge smile until the day before the show I was locked up for 3 days.
I've been so into this song for the past 6 months or a year even. I knew it for years but I somehow went into a long phase of love for this song. So well crafted and a very satisfying, heavy listen. Also, the video is kinda iconic. Just them going into a pub, enjoying drinks and playing their heavy music, while pulling the "crowbar riff" face off.
@@sumner-kv3gh Sammy is indeed a great writer of riffs. He surely is one of the reasons why this era of Crowbar produced such memorable songs, but I would consider that also Kirk was for some reason particularly hungry and inspired in this era
I like that they don't act like idiots like a lot of metal bands do. No jumping around...no face paint...no scary faces.........They just get up there and play!
This is the only true form of heavy music. No fucking hairspray, makeup, excessive dressing, no fucking pink mohawks, clean distortions and shit like that.
No paint lol 😂original metal heads just had mutten chops and long braided goatees.qnd wore faded black and backwards hats. We weren't trying to go barbie till the music industry and producers pushed the satanic messages and demonic undertones or death incorporation . Real metal is about hard life hard feelings hard thoughts hard death. Not zombies and long hair and chick singers talking about how guys they knew made them feel dark 😅
This is how you make a music video. No fancy cars and hot broads. No over the top satanic imagery, zombies or demons. Just beer drinking and rail bumping in a greasy dive bar. CROWBAR!
@@penguinisnotracist8440 Sounds like a night out is what it sounds like. A drinking night with buddies shouldn't have the expectation on it to be somehow "deep."
Definitely one of the top metal guitar riffs of the 1990s, and even today few bands can rival the sheer power and might of this band's riffage. Long live Crowbar!
I got this album last week, it's awesome. Out of the blue I thought of this band cause I saw them back in 1992 opening for White Zombie and Pantera. I had no idea Sammy Duet Pitre was in this band (big Acid Bath fan). I love this album. I plan on buying more. This band crushes your chest with a bulldozer.
Whenever i return on Crowbar and listen to a song that i didn't knew its always a pleasure. Down to the listening for the 4th time straight.. the riff is massive!
Crowbar is music for real men who sleep on their sofas with their clothes on, play loud, dont give a shit about what others think, and after a hard day of playing they go to the bar for a pint of beer which still has mud and twigs and leafs in it!
Phil has the crowbar face!! Close friends?? Wtf u live under a rock...he used to be in the same band as Phil and crowbar opened for Pantera many times...lol
My all time favourite song and it will stay that way. I'm getting better at playing the riffs of the song on my electric guitar. I feel the groove everytime! Instant headbanging and pulling my lips and face everytime!
Crowbar is one of my favorite bands. I don't know that anything will ever touch Odd Fellows Rest as far as sheer awesomeness. Lifesblood is a real good record as well. Tune low, play slow. None heavier!
You're probably right about who's in the video...but on the album Equilibrium it's listed as Kirk, Sammy, Todd, and Sid Montz. I know Todd left in 2000 so that must be Okie....plus it didn't exactly look like Todd in the video.
K I L O B A R Man, Kirk gulps beer and wipes his mouth in this vid, burps on stage.. yawns in interviews :D I like that they are extremely natural and true.
