I like to think that Tallstar made OneWHISKER a leader, and that he didn't realize how cold and judgemental OneSTAR would become.

I refuse to believe that the Onewhisker in the first series and Onestar are the same character. He was handled so horribly.

Honestly, probably one of my favorite books among the newer ones. Personally, Crowfeather dreaming about his grandkids made my heart melt a little bit.

This book surprised me with how good it was and I even don't have a lot of the resentment towards Breezepelt. Crowfeather has always been a favourite character - not entirely because he was edgy, but because of what drove him. I hated Heather/Breeze and they gave us everything I wanted to know. I never liked Onestar before, but I hated him even more now. The only thing he did, and unwittingly so, was make Crowfeather a better cat through his terrible and shitty actions.

we’ve come to a point where we are SUPRISED when we get an actual GOOD book in our series. that says ALOT.

I will have to agree with a commenter on another video: at this point with all of Onestar's bad decisions, Mudclaw should have been leader. There probably would have been no difference in leadership actions, and our love of Onewhisker as Firestar's friend would have remained had One stayed a regular warrior. We could see Mudclaw making these horrible choices which is why no one wanted him to be leader, but we got it anyway despite all the effort to make Onewhisker the tom in charge. Whatever Tallstar hoped to achieve didn't happen.

I used to have a lot of hate towards Breezepelt, but after this book... I’m just rooting for him now.

spoiler alert for Crowfeathers trial. I hated Onestar so much, but I also loved how hatable he was. He yelled at Bramblestar and said, “Of course Bramblestar, you don’t understand this yet because your a very new leader. But you need to learn that ordinary warriors don’t know everything. To get at the truth, one must ask the Clan leader, and I’m telling you quite clearly that we don’t need help. Firestar would have understand that, but alas.. he’s gone.” and also “You can’t insist that I do anything. I feel sorry for ThunderClan, stuck with you as leader, when every cat knows the bad blood you inherited.” and again, “Your father killed Firestar in the Dark Forest. You must be so proud of him! If not for his savagery, you might never have become leader. Did you and Tigerstar make that plan together?” and when Bramblestar replies by saying “Very well. But hear this Onestar. You made it clear that our two clans are _not_ allies. Remember that when the threat in the tunnel turns out to be too much for you to handle on your own. Remember that we offered to help, and you turned us away and insulted us.” But of course, Onestar says, “Why would I remember such a weak, useless Clan?” onestar is literally the worst, and goes way too far. the book somehow makes him even more hatable? and once more, he says to crowfeather after he asks if it was necessary, he says, “Of course it _was_ necessary. Because one of my warriors gave ThunderClan information they had no right to. Who would have thought Breezepelt would turn out to be more trustworthy than his father..” and he rambles on, threatening Crowfeather if he put a paw out of line he would be in real trouble!

Stoats and weasels are not the same animals. Stoats and ermine are. Weasels are smaller, do not have a black-tipped tail, and some species do not even have white winter coats. Large, black-tipped tail ermines are stoats.

Quiet Rage rants about Onestar,a year later....Onestar is getting a novel about him!!! So no one is going to mention that Ashfoot sent one of the scariest dreams to Crowfeather to teach him a lesson. Reading that scene where he tries to kill Hawkfrost and Breezepelt blinding him was really messed up. That scene is more gut-wrenching when reading Scourage ripping out Tigerstar's belly for the first time.

I always felt like crowfeather was a good character besides everyone hating him. I’m glad we finally got a book in his perspective as It changes a lot in how ppl view characters

32:00 - 33:54 That was the most intense series of insults I’ve ever heard, I’m pretty sure you could dissolve metal in it. That was the most caustic, hate-fueled, pure intense anger I’m pretty sure to ever be spoken about a character. Christ Almighty, our lord and savior, let it never be said that you do not live up to your name, Quiet Rage.

Personally, I loved Crowfeather as a character. When I read the book, I saw a lot of things I loved more about his character and how he grew from edgy to lovesick to a stronger character with clear motivations and problems to overcome. Breezepelt’s redemption made sense in its own way. People who defend Breezepelt and the people who oppose Breezepelt kind of misunderstand his character. The only narrative flaw that I can say is that I felt like Crowfeather and Breezepelt are a little bit too friendly towards each other in the end. Idk it just rubbed me the wrong way because the message that “we’re family! I’m your father and that’s why I’m always gonna be here” is a good one but a little bit too on the nose. It’s just too strong for my tastes. I kind of wished that the message was a little bit more subtle. Of course I wanted it to still be strong, but not so strong it would the only thing I can see. Another tiny flaw I need to point out is that Jayfeather mentions that Breezepelt tried to kill Lionblaze, but didn’t say a single thing about the fact that Breezepelt tried to kill Jayfeather. You would’ve thought that this event would be mentioned but I guess it was forgotten. I totally agree with your analysis on Crowfeather and Breezepelt because they’re so similar but so different. The character development was honestly better than a lot that I know. Your analysis on the story was really well done!

Its a decent read but it could have been better, ill take what I can get from modern warriors. I agree it did manage to convey what it intended where the other current warrior books haven't even come close too but that in my mind is a passing grade the bare minim of what a book needs to do. Saying all this though I had just finished reading the newest Stormlight book (Brandon Sanderson) and so I guess my expectations for a good follow up book was high. I like the Breezepelt parts because I unlike many people who I have talked with about Breezepelt I personally liked pre Crows trial breeze he was a antagonist and his motives were self made and I enjoy that because other then Brokenstar all the other antagonists have been forced into their roles by their environments/Destiny and not by their own actions while this is good short hand for writers to have what seems to be a more complicated villain it does however take away from the characters own presence, it feels reactionary and not personality and character driven. Breezepelt was a character who with effort of his own chose to betray his clan and suffered the price in their distrust and works to regain his life before he loses it all including his own mother. But the story is actually about Crowfeather and While I did enjoy his side of the story it was lacking in comparison. I almost wish he had gone to stay in Thunderclan and had seen Leafpools life and how she copes with her kittens who are so distanced from her and set up his own eventual understanding that and the other events of the story guiding him to make his own conclusion but no instead he had to practically get this message shoved down his throat by FIVE DIFFERENT CHARACTERS. I get that he emotionally distant but by the time he got to his forced understanding I wanted to yell "OF COURSE YOU ASS!!" out my window for the world to hear. It took away from the impact that it should have had. All the events of the should be the same but he should have taken the events themselves and self actualized his experiences. Iv been writing my own review on the book and I want to convey that though it is the second best book from the new series so far it still only a candle to some of the other books like crookedstars promise or even Dovewings silence . But that's how I feel and to be honest I am just glad so many others do enjoy it and I don't want to take away the feelings that other readers because just cause I didn't fully enjoy it, It doesn't mean I don't want others to enjoy it so I am very happy its getting praise. when onewhisker was still a warrior, i thought he was just another decent character to add to the plot but when he became leader, then i just- oH MY GOD seriously tho, onestar is trash. how did starclan not see this coming? as soon as they got this idea, starclan watches them, don't they? as soon as they saw and heard why didn't they send some kind on prophecy or omen to exile him from the clan?!

I personally thought that Warriors should've ended after Omen of Stars. After that, it would've gotten too repetitive with "Threat endangers Clans, Clans must wOrK tOgEtHeR tO OVeRcOme".

Honestly, Crowfeather’s Trial is probably one of the best Warriors books I’ve read yet.

It’s sad that Onestar was friends with Firestar and Thunderclan helped to keep him safe on his way to the moon pool then after that he was just a complete and utter asshole.

This is quite honestly my favourite book. I never thought Tallstar’s Revenge would be beaten, but I can’t deny Crowfeather’s Trial its place. Of all the redemption arc attempts out there, Crow’s and Breeze’s are just so well written. Crow and Breeze are both struggling with loss. Nobody ever just forgives Breeze overnight, it takes a long time. We look into Breeze’s motivations and Crow acknowledges the part he played in them. Crow makes an effort to be a better father. Crow apologises to Jay and Lion too, but when they say no, they already have a father figure and they don’t need him, he accepts it. Crow understands that people never need to allow people who hurt them back in their life. He leaves the option open if they ever want to talk to him, but he doesn’t push it. There will be other antagonists in the Warriors series, there’s always more. We love to joke about fighting cats, but Crow and Breeze making peace with their world is the best way to wrap up this story. They made amends wherever they could, and accepted when they couldn’t fix things. It didn’t erase Crow’s and Breeze’s former personalities, it built on them and how they affected the world they live in. This book is just so good.

i'm alarmed because i have a friend, who has no idea what warriors is, who has a cat named pickle.

I love this book and it gave me reasons to respect Crowfeather and Breezepelt in a whole new way. Unfortunately for Jayfeather, I can't stand him at this point in the series. I mean he called his own brother "soft" for forgiving Crowfeather so easily and I have to say that Lionblaze's reason actually made sense. When he and Crowfeather were talking before the stoat battle climax, Lionblaze told Crowfeather he doesn't blame him and that there was nothing to forgive because they were full grown cats/warriors before they even learned they were half clan, their mother was Leafpool, and that he was their father. He also pointed out that there was no way he could have known of their existence when Leafpool told no one she was expecting kits except her sister. He said if there is some cat or cats to blame it's Leafpool for not telling you she was expecting your kits and Squirrelflight for knowing the while time and to not only lying to her clan but to him, Jayfeather and Hollyleaf their whole lives. So unfortunately for Crowfeather, he only made up with two of his three sons, Lionblaze and Breezepelt. Jayfeather even said that he will never forgive Crowfeather for as long as he lives. Jayfeather mirrors Crowfeather at his worst literally every single day and only once in a blue moon (the equivalent of once every two or three books) does he show any kind of emotion other than pissed at the world. Sometimes I think all Jayfeather really excels at and what he'll be remembered for is holding grudges.

its been like a year since its release, but im gonnna animate thistleclaw dancing to "i love little girls" and spottedpaw watching, horrified, in the background.

This book solidly reserved Crow, Night, and Breeze in a place on my favorite families in Warriors.. I was hoping... _so badly_ that Crow would at the very least, finally _acknowledge_ his emotionally negligent behaviour, and holy smokes, did he! He even went hecking beyond that! I was never really fond of any of them previously. (Unless you want to count liking Breeze _as an_ antagonist?) I didn't _hate_ any of them either, but I wasn't interested in them either. This isn't excluded to Warriors, but I love when a story can take one of their "controversial" (might be a bit of a strech here) or "personally" disliked characters, and change their minds / make them see the character differently after seeing the story written from their point of view.

I’m glad this came out today. It took me 4 days to read the book. Because I’m no longer aloud to read a whole book in a day. So I had to ration it out after school. If this came out four days ago I would’ve either waited to finish the book. Or just rebel against my rules and watch. Breezepelt is one of my favorite characters. I don’t know why

Not to mention how Onestar roasted Crowfeather about being a father when Onestar lied about being a great warrior to a kittypet cause he liked attention and then abandoned his kit to become an evil villian just because he didn't want to admit he lied.

Who else wants to make a map about Tallstar looking at all the crap Onestar does? Disappointed in him because Tallstar thought Onewhisker's and Firestar's friendship would end up having the two clans be strong and there for eachother. It's sad how wrong he was, and it's not really Tallstar's fault. Mudclaw could have been way worse, and Tallstar REALLY THOUGHT that Onewhisker would be a good leader, he didn't think he would act like this.

I loved this book, but i agree with you about one star. Just because he was leader, doesn't mean he forces his clan to do every little thing he wants. Crow feather warned him about blocking the holes, and the stupid fur ball accused him of being a traitor, and even kicked him out of wind clan!! D:< WTF!? He should be taking advice from his warriors not snapping at every little order that isn't followed. In any case. Great video QuietRage! :3 I will definitely be watching more of your videos.

Ok. In Tallstar's defense, he thought that Mudclaw would only bring pointless battles and misery to all the clans. He always saw Onewhisker as loyal, good natured and a good friend to Firestar, Jake's son. The manga at the end of Tallstar's revenge even shows us why he chose to make Onewhisker leader. Believing he would continue the peace with Firestar and lead the clan wisely. In the first series when all the clans discovered that Thuderclan was sheltering Brokentail, Onewhisker was the only one from Windclan remembering how Thuderclan escorted them home and fought beside them in an unfair battle against Riverclan and Shadowclan. Mudclaw was always snappy. Wanting to fight rather than talk. I think Tallstar chose to make Mudclaw deputy after Deadfoot was to balance his gentle leadership with a more fierce deputy. And when he was close to dying he saw that the only way to continue the peace with all the clans was to make Onewhisker leader. And I believe Onewhisker became such an asshole because he needed to show his classmates and the other clans that he was a powerful leader. His leadership was met with great resistance from many cats of his own clan. When Mudclaw died and he was free to take the name Onestar, he probably felt he needed to show that he wasn't a pushover, that Windclan was strong and he probably felt he needed to end his friendship with Firestar. To show that Windclan didn't need any help from anyone. That the clan was strong and proud under a new leadership. Tallstar couldn't have known what the clan would suffer under Onestar's leadership. Believe it or not, but he can't predict the future. He did what he thought was right and can anyone really blame him for that? We all though Onewhisker was good. He was always friendly towards Fireheart/star. No one could predict what Onestar's leadership would do to the clan. Ps. I really hope that you remember how Onestar was before he became a leader. How he helped Fireheart and was a proud and honourable warrior. I agree with you how Onestar is as a leader, but don't you dare blame Tallstar for it. How the hell was he supposed to know what Onewhisker would become. Be 100% honest with me and answer me this: What did you think when Onewhisker was made deputy? Not after he became a leader, but when he was a deputy and didn't have his nine lifes or his leadership name. Did you truly belive he was such an awful cat? Deserving everything you call him now?

Honestly, the fact that this book made me sympathize once again with BREEZEPELT and CROWFEATHER...shows that they did give a good-faith effort with the writing and consistent character development. Kudos for that, even if the 'trial' with Nightcloud's death ended up resolved a bit too perfectly with her still being alive all along :/

I know I'm late, but I just finished the book and I've got to say that I agree with every single point you made, especially the rant about Onestar near the end. I think one of my favorite parts was a minor scene on the last two pages of the book, when Crowfeather dreams about his grandkits playing with him and everyone's happy, especially Breezepelt and Heathertail. Anyway, great video, as always!

I loved the first half of this book, but hated the second half due to the number of times it re-summarized parts we already learned in the first half of the book. Almost as if the first half was edited well but the second half wasn't even looked at by an editor. My favorite character arc was Featherpaw, which is odd because it only had about ten pages dedicated to it.

If only Onestar's little charicter 180 had just been a bad faze in his leadership and he actually had a true arc where he fixed his shit... I really liked Onewhisker, and adored his friendship with Fireheart/Firestar. Honestly what a waisted potential.

Crowfeather's Trial is my favorite book in the whole series, tbh. It's the main reason why Crowfeather is one of my favorite characters now. Also, I actually kind of like Breezepelt and Nightcloud now, even though I hated them before. I still don't forgive Breezepelt for trying to kill Jayfeather and a *pregnant* she-cat, though. But I loved seeing Crowfeather actually make efforts to mend familial relationships, even if two of them... didn't quite work. :") And it's nice that we got actually believable reasons for why Crowfeather, Breezepelt, and Nightcloud acted the way they did in previous books.

I just got crow feathers trial too and I liked it a lot it defiantly gave an insiders view of crowfeather and it’s by far my fav windclan book along with tall stars revenge! Great vid!

My favorite part in the whole Warriors series has got to be when Shadowclan is about to be destroyed so the clans come together to save them. Like the moment thunderclan is running through the trees and riverclan shows up and is like "Riverclan is with you" and the whole forest becomes united to save Shadowclan. It gave me goosebumps reading that part.

I agree. I was really skeptical, but after checking it out... I was so happy that we got closure on this character and his past.

This is just my opinion, but I loved Crowfeather, Breezepelt, and Nightcloud at first sight. I loved Crowfeather when he was arrogant Crowpaw insulting Squirrelpaw! I loved Breezepaw being so worried about Heatherpaw spending time with Lionpaw at the gathering. I loved Nightcloud when her name was first mentioned! This is definitely an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE the Crowfeather family. CROWFEATHER IS BAE
