It is ironic when I see people take these cars and put tail lights on that you can hardly see at all. Also the stupidest rims and wheels money can buy. My 11 and 07 CVPI's are all original here in Kentucky. I don't know how to take quality pictures Chuck. The last time I entered a give away you said they were too low of quality. I take pictures with a Panasonic SDR-H80 camcorder and then upload them to my computer. This is Steve, the freight hauler in Kentucky. Maybe you remember. I really enjoy the videos. I still run non ethanol 87 and doing 55 I average 24MPG with the 3:55 rear ends. Thanx!
Yo Steve, Any $20 pre-paid cell phone from the last decade can take "high quality" photos. lol And please refrain from disparaging comments how other folks modify their cars. That's not my choice either, but everyone has their own taste. -Chuck
Yo Robert, Thanks for the kind words. If you want to enter the giveaway don't forget to comment your YEAR / MAKE / MODEL Panther Car, and home state. -Chuck
2006 Mercury Grand Marquis LS New Jersey! I need more lights lol I feel like my car is too small not be seen here in jersey, people seem to miss my car while driving on the road
Also Chuck, We need the Brightest dang lights to get peoples attention in traffic! I've had several close calls due to inatention of drivers and almost got rearended a few weeks back, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, I was stopped at a traffic light and was watching the car coming up behind me quickly... I was forced to pull to the right as the car hit the pickup in front of me! But I saved my 2010 P71 from being totaled! The pickup had a heavy duty tow hitch and that saved his truck, the car ended up with it's frontend 2 feet crushed back! The person driving admitted to texting at the time of the wreck! Lesson, always keep distance between you and the car in front of you, that gives you space to get out of the way :) One old rule I follow is at a traffic light you shoud be no closer than being able to see the car's rear tires on the ground in front of you.
I've had the same unbranded white leds in my high-mount or 3rd brake light and have had the same reaction each time I stepped on the brakes, thinking someone had suddenly appeared behind me. Great review! 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis
Very nice video again Chuck! They look similar to the Lasfit brand. They look promising! Thanks for the opportunity! 2008 Mercury Grand Marquis, South TX.
Yo Chris, Thanks for stopping in. The owner of this company Formula J87 told me they are made in the same factory as the Lasfit bulbs. But these are a few bucks cheaper, and they have a 3 Year Warranty. The Lasfit's only have a 1 Year Warranty. So it's kind of worth it just for the extra 2 year warranty. -Chuck
Chuck. Your videos aren't lame..I thought this LED one was very informative as most your videos are. I live in SoCal I have a 2001 Mercury Grandma, (Grand Marquis). I believe I have 6 3157's in back 3 on each side. KL
Yo Karl, You're in it to win it. BTW, I don't think I've seen you here before. Welcome to the club, prepare to be disappointed. Lol I temporarily forgot the 1998-2002 have the extra Amber 3157 in the rear for the turn signal. Good catch on that one. -Chuck
Great video Chuck! Ford Crown Victoria 2009 Texas. I'm thankful for you keeping the Panther platform alive and investing your time and money into making content to for us 🙏
Yo AG, You're in it to win it. Thanks for the kind words. BTW, I don't think I've seen you here before. Welcome to the club, prepare to be disappointed. Lol -Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform I don't believe I have ever commented in any of your past videos, but I've been here a couple of years. Your Super Tech Synthetic Oil videos made me subscribe. I made the switch back then and have been going with ST ever since. It also helps that my wife's Mustang also takes 5W-20. I buy the ST 12-quart bag and have saved a nice amount of money all thanks to you!
I don't know how you could say that these videos are terrible, as I watch a LOT of RU-vid videos, and these are some of the best content out there. Your videos are to the point, everything clearly in frame of the camera, we can easily discern what you're saying, they're highly informative on a much needed topic for a particular group of individuals that contain no fluff or pointless babbling, and I absolutely love the printouts and most of all the wooden pointer, so that we can see what you're focused on (which I don't know why other video providers don't do this). Last but not least, your content isn't about unproven theories, it's from real life experiences backed up by data or testing. Does it get any better than that?
Chuck is great and so well organized in his videos! But if you'd like to see the complete opposite of Chuck, check your friend @BST Ford channel and try not to get to dizzy:) BST is a blast and he does create some very cool content!
I liked having leds on my grand marquis but the problem I had was with the resisters and tapping into the factory wires. The problem was that the factory wires would come apart and the turn signal would hyper flash but the Formula J's would be a really nice upgrades to the led ones I had on my 2004 Mercury.
Yo Matthew, It sounds like you would be a prime candidate for the Flasher Bypass Mod; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l5tSSLhFGZA.html -Chuck
Thank you so much, it’s good quality lights but unfortunately I faced hyper flash signal with my 2010 Grand Marquis after 20 days waiting to arrive to KSA ☹️
I got the Sylvania zero as well I'm find them to be ok their deign ls odd but I like how they make me lights flicker faster than the factory. Also I really enjoy these type of vids
Yo Capn' Thanks for stopping in. The Sylvania Zevo's are great. That's why I ran them since 2012. I just wanted something a little brighter. When you say "flicker faster" do you mean hyper flash? That's to indicate a malfunction like a burnt out turn signal bulb. That also provides propable cause for a traffic stop. So just keep that in mind. -Chuck
Hey Chuck you don't need brighter tail lights. You need a set of glass packs on that Panzer they'll know you mean business and mover over works on my Lincoln also works good for tail gaters that glass pack roar seems to wake them from their stupid trance there in LOL.
Yo Andrew, Thanks for stopping in. Unfortunately, the shipping cost to Canada is not worth these bulbs. Shipping to Canada is 3-4 times the US domestic cost. I don't know why that is. So this giveaway is only for US addresses. -Chuck
Yo Ricky, You're in it to win it. Take a look in your owners manual here for bulb part numbers. You can also use the Sylvaina bulb guide. The parts compatibility guides on Amazon, and eBay are not reliable. BTW, I don't think I've seen you here before. Welcome to the club, prepare to be disappointed. Lol -Chuck
If these were used in combination with regular turn signal bulbs would the brightness of the formula J87 bulbs overpower the signaling bulb? Because older Vics like mine have dedicated amber signals.
Yo Josh, Congrats you won a free cat. J/k I temporarily forgot the 1998-2002 use three bulbs in the tail light. Two for Parking / Brake. And a separate one for the Amber turn signal. You would replace all three with LED. I already reviewed the 3157 Amber Led’s two years ago. Here’s the video; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hNvn9noJCgM.html -Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform I’ve watched your videos on my other channel but never commented sorry I usually just watch videos I like your videos keep it up, - Jonathan
I have an 09 mercury grand marquis and I’m wondering how you deal with the hyper flashing. Do you have resistors, wiring harness, or did you use the separate relay spliced off of the LCM? I’ve done my third brake light though.
Yo Eric, Here’s my video on 3 ways to fix hyper flash; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l5tSSLhFGZA.html Back in 2012 when I first installed LED’s I did not know about the Flasher Relay Bypass, so I used the Sylvania resistors. You can see them here; ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dpZnaX8AG40.html -Chuck
I have ZEVO LED brake lights but kept the 3rd brake light incandescent for me. Too many problems with LEDs. If you switch to LED then your cruise control and aftermarket remote start will stop working. Something with the cruise control module monitors the third brake light’s resistance, such that adding an LED tricks it into thinking the brake lights are on, thus no cruise control or remote start. Haven’t bothered adding a resistor but theoretically that should fix it. There is actually a TSB from Ford that covers a range of models that say aftermarket LED third brake light bulbs will cause this.
Yo Peter, Long time no see. LED bulbs in the 3rd brake light would disable the cruise control on some 1992-2002 Panther Cars. I just went looking for the TSB, and I can't find it. Darn it. Thanks for stopping in, and the good feedback. -Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform My bad, it's not a TSB. It's actually straight up in the Ford service manual for 2003, in the diagnostic section for Speed Control. 2.NOTE: Any aftermarket modifications, including but not limited to those listed below may cause the speed control to not operate correctly: ^ Any wiring or lamp modifications affecting the brake lamp operation ^ LED brake lamps ^ Non-factory installed trailer wiring ^ Radios (speed sensitive, auto mute) ^ Remote starters and alarms ^ Lighting and electrical accessory modifications
Yo Hamad, Thanks for stopping in. LED's are faster, and brighter. This should alert your intentions to other motorist sooner, rather than later. -Chuck
Did you have to do any modifications to get the turn signals to flash at the correct rate? Edit: I see there’s a video in the description about it I’ll watch that
@PanzerPlatform My question is, are Formula J87 a good reputable brand? That 3 year warranty is a very strong one. Usually common is 1-2 year warranty. But 3 year warranty is better. Now that’s nothing to compare to sylvania zevo led with a lifetime warranty. U can never beat that. Back to formula J87, I want because that G8 led bulb 9005 with a internal driver and a built-in fan looks very good. And I would love to get a 2000k orange Amber for my high beams. For super bright yet softer bright led bulbs. It’s a gorgeous color. And 2: have u had any issues with Formula J87 led products? Because I’m stuck with two best options for my 2015 Scion xB 9005/HB3 high beam bulbs. Lasfit - LD plus switchback 6000k/3000k Or Formula J87 with 2000k? Or even 3: SNGL with 3000k? It has a large heatsink with no fans. So that’s a passive type led bulbs. I already have switchback h11 ones and I love it. What do u prefer for ur honest opinion? And u may also ask why those color? Because I love the look of it and they are super bright and more useful. I’m running an 8 watt 9005 SNGL 3000k led bulbs. And they are decently bright. I used that for show. But it did help just a little for dark areas. But obviously it’s not enough.
I'm not familiar with any of those items you mentioned. I've known Jerry FJ87 for a couple years now, and he has good customer service. You should send him an email with your concerns, I'm sure he will give you a good answer. -Chuck
@@PanzerPlatform excellent. I appreciate ur response. And I’m glad u had good experience with no issues for after having it for 2 solid years now. Thank u sir. 🫡
Hello, I have these in both my cars. They are still working. 2004 Crown Victoria 2010 Grand Marquis They are my favorite stop / brake LED Bulbs I have ever tested, or used. They are worth every penny. -Chuck
