I wished you tested Auxito, a 1000 lumens reverse light with extreemely big heatsink. It helps a lot on my Corolla with poor 1 reverse light. I barely can see anything with the OEM bulb.
I spent over a couple hundred dollars trying out various LED bulbs for my reversing lights. I failed to find one that was both blindingly bright and lasted more than 3 months. In the end I took a rubber grommet and rigged up a H1 headlight LED bulb that has a built-in heatsink with cooling fan. This has worked exceedingly well for the past 20 months and it is still working.
Did you also try bulb type R from this video? I have those on my BMW for reverse lights and while I do love the brightness and look of them…. There’s a part of me in the back of my mind that’s scared of it catching fire or something like that. Even if it’s on for a few seconds
Sergiu this was bloody excellent. Thank you for taking the time to do such a integrated test on these globes. You my friend have saved me from purchasing crappy globes off eBay. Cheers to you.
Sergiu, thanks so much for all the info and testing. LED bulb buying is a real minefield and you have made it much easier! Great job! Love the humor...
Kudos for the 3D printed sockets! Did similar for a project of mine on an old Chevy! Congrats on the channel, as an engineer myself I find it awesome your testing methodology.
It is good to mention that OSRAM Bulb will have better light output just by using it on Reflector lamps due the LEDS are pointing directly to the reflector hence the Performance.
I use a website call auto bulbs direct. Not sure if it’s just UK delivery but they have been the best LEDs I’ve used. It’s the brand Twenty20, great reliability, warranty & brightness. They do have the best for not causing error lights.
I used super bright LED that we use in signs. My reverse lights are brighter than the street lights. They are a group of three peel and stick and 12-24 volt DC
I had tried many of these. Some gave me errors because they are not CANBUS. I use them for the stop lights on Mercedes x166 GL 2013-2015. Bulb "R" was my favorite but I got tired of changing them as they start to slowly die out the LEDs on them go one by one then you get an died out error light on the dashboard. I had about 10 "R" bulbs. They all died! Got sick of changing them. Then I got the bulb "U" (1156 BA15S) from a branded maker on AliExpress not going to advertise them. They are still working over 1 year use as stop lights. I also havev reverse lights from this brand but a totally different fitmen T15 W16W. They are all CANBUS error free! Thanks for the video I was going to buy the OSRAM ones to check how they glow! Now I won't. I did buy D1S OSRAM Xenon for the head lights 6000K & 7000K. I like the 7000K with tinted head lights. Great video!
Great vid Segiu. very useful info. I’ve been running bulb R in my Octavia estate for over a year now in the indicators and reversing lights. Like you they don’t give any bulb warning on the dash. I also tried fitting them in my Merc Vito van, in that they DID give a bulb out warning :(
Hmm. Mai era un model cu conuri pe lateral. Am primit eu unul si e impresionant. Oricum, cel mai tare canal din ro. Iti admir foarte tare contentul de calitate. Te-am recomandat la toti cunoscutii! :)
I started with cheap LEDs and they always go out after a few months, now I only use a quality bulb. I have never had a problem with Sylvania also known as osram and in the US their zevo line Zevos have a limited lifetime warranty
Great test... I use bulbs "H" as reversing lights and their orange version as turn lights for few years now, but will have to look around for bulbs "S" :)
My Mitsubishi has pretty small reverse lights, so I wanted something that could focus all the light outwards instead of relying on the tiny reflector. So I went with a lens-style bulb with two Cree emitters, and they work well! It also has heat fins around the whole bulb so I was kind of dissapointed to not see it in this test. I think it could do well.
I'm using Bulb R for my park lights. Seems very fine and works well. But it does get hot maybe because the clear plastic or glass of the bulb turned blurry
Appreciated. This is classic science fair project work. Nicely done as a reverse light, they are only on for 20-30 seconds tops and are an indicator to ppl behind you. Next item is how good did the throw light behind the car through the lens...
Excellent video, as always. When testing LEDs, could you please add a test to see if they’re dimmable? Interior lights especially tend to dim slowly and it would be great to know if these bulbs would allow for that effect. Not as relevant with this type of bulb but certainly many other types.
I tried bulb R in my Audi a4 b7 as the daytime running light. It lit up for a few secs and never again. Afterwards, i have been using bulb T for half a year, it does well but shows an error.
the sylvaina auoomotive (osram bulb tested) is weak sauce compared to its osram zevo counterpart they both perform best in a reflector ware the bulb is center and not coming from the side or bottom or top of the reflector different light housings will perform differently with each LED i run the ZEVO leds in my truck they blow away the stock bulbs while looking stock no led ive tried works as good however on my trailer (lenses unscrew lense optics no reflector) they are useless using the projector lense style LEDs worked better the wifes santafe the zevos worked great for the front turn signals but the rears didnt used a different LED that worked way better this video is very informitive but always look at your lights and choose bulbs according to your light housings optics too
@@batkatabatev6683 depends on the car maybe, or you just got unlucky. Actually I remember now that I had one defective, but other two ordered from a different seller and they are doing fine. Survived this summer with 30+ C temperatures. And I only use them as reverse lights, so not for long periods
Many thanks for video, for some time I was looking for LED lights. Due to safety reasons and CAN Bus errors I abandoned this idea. Regarding your content :D , day by day you are improving your skills , I like the new graphics :D. As a small feedback , It will be a nice idea to convert C° to F° for our USA friends :) .
Fwiw, the Osram might have a case for someone who simply likes the cold white look, or someone who prefers the (presumed) longer life of the LED bulb vs an incandescent bulb in a DRL scenario (less frequent replacement hassle) and the presumed quality assurance of the brand.
Salut Sergiu !
Super utile clipurile tale! Bafta in continuare!
Results are appreciated but viewers are in the dark (pun) without brands/names/models utilized. Have you made a list of the brands tested here, according to the letter assigned to each in this video?
thanks for sharing these in depth, realistic reviews! im planning to get ones and yes, there are ALOT of chinese made bulbs that are being sold here in the Philippines. hoping for more videos and content from you sir!
Just looking at the shape of these Chinese LEDs makes me laugh :D I WAS thinking of placing Osram W21W Premium LEDs for reverse lights but, after I saw that even the Premiums have worse brightness than the halogens, gave up the idea.
I have bulb R and it's extremely bright, moderately blinding drivers that are behind (about 50-70% as bad as high beams). But since you usually don't reverse into oncoming traffic I don't think it's a problem and I enjoy the high light output.
