Crowsworn is an action packed metroidvania. Inspired by Hollow Knight, DMC, and Bloodborne. Wishlist on Steam: crowsworn.com/w... Crowsworn Music: / j-j-ipsen
exactly, I just want a animation of giving hornet and a couple of orchid mantises a alot of milkshakes and cookies until they are very swollen, soft, and huge walking sofas
The fact that Crowsworn is heavily inspired by Hollow Knight, Bloodborne & DMC and Team Cherry themselves support it makes me believe that this game will be a masterpiece.
@@gamernautico well that is what heavily inspired means, it’s not a blatant carbon copy ripoff with colour changes, it just inspires a lot of things from the base game whilst still trying to throw uniqueness into the fray ( like come on, when did the knight have a *_GUN_* )
"This game is just a hollow knight clone" Good. If this game can replicate even a fraction of what made HK so great, we'll have another fantastic game in our hands.
Considering they are inspired by Devil May Cry, Bloodborne and Hollow Knight, even Team Cherry supports this, this should be a great game at first xD but let's see what happens once it comes out
@Soldier [TF2] mat pat clearly isnt an avid player of hollow knight and therefore may not have been exposed all the lore and evidence. And while his theory isnt perfect with evidence to prove otherwise thats exactly what a theory is. Speculation with enough evidence to make it believable. Just because you dont agree with one thing someone said or did doesnt mean you can hate everything they have and will do
@@KP_Uravity they did respond to a guy basically saying "Hi thanks for checking in! And please excuse the lack of proper updates. It wasn't planned! We've just been so focused on getting Silksong finished we haven't found a moment to blog."
@@KP_Uravity It’b nice if they were somewhat active on Twitter showing us teasers of new enemies or screenshots or something. Anything to say that they are actually working on the game
The way he leaps out of wooden monument thingies and faces the camera before taking a swing with his scythe is just full of the exaggerated swagger of a plague doctor
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. The devs literally created the love child of Bloodborne and Hollow Knight lol! Will be getting in on the Kickstarter later this week. So hyped right now.
Not only is his character design badass; but his movements and fighting style are seriously badass. All in all, playing as him will make the player feel like a real badass. You're a plague doctor with the cure!
@@MalkonDova It looks incredibly similar to hollow knight, but i think thats a good thing. It really looks like its taking its inspirations to the max while keeping it new
You can listen to on SoundCloud by going to the Kickstarter. The Title for this OST is, “The New Dark Age” and the other trailer music is, “Price of Penance” by J.J. Ipsen
I'm quite surprised people don't mention the background music. It's really well made ! Although I would appreciate some drums or something more bass . But that could be just my personal preference as a metal head.
I used to be an addict. I still am. During my recovery and abstinence, I'd play hollow knight. It helped to give me that escape that I needed to replace what alcohol and drugs gave to me. I felt connected to that game, as a 'Hollow Knight' exploring and making sense of the abyss in the game and in myself. I am now over a year sober, and life has changed so much. I'm fitter, stronger - physically and mentally - and I've been promoted in my job. However, everyday is still a battle with the demon. This is my life right now, improving myself and my environment whilst keeping the demon at bay. I feel a strong connection to this game already. I can not wait to become this character, to become the crowsworn, and to do battle with all these demons. Bring it on!
I’ve used video games instead of drugs and drinking. whenever I’m stressed it’s great to escape to a new world, I recommend picking up metroid dread if you have a switch or trying some zelda
@@totallyjerd1751 as a recovering heroin addict I had a similar experience with the souls series. Gaming, exercise, and fatherhood changed everything for me and I have never looked back. Keep up the good work, ive found all the fulfillment i was searching for with the opiates through sober life experiences. ( I didnt mean to @jerd but I don't wanna type it out again)
Looks like hollow knight, has a trailer like hades, has a soundtrack that is similar to hades but has more of a western pluck style, AND the fast paced gameplay makes this something I don’t want to miss
How to make me immediately fall in love with a game that hasn't even been released, and I only just heard of 30 minutes ago: "Inspired by Hollow Knight, DMC, and Bloodborne." Like yes this money is yours TAKE IT!
The HK inspiration is pretty noticeable, but unlike other game ( -lotus knight- ) it actually tries to be it's own thing. Excited to see how the game evolves!
Ok but uhhhhhhhhh have you ever thought that maybe the very unique and pacific genre would be similar as the outher game in the same genre??? I’m not talking about lotus knight
POV: you are an indie dev team making a debut game and your kickstarter passed 1k backers in less than 1 hour 😳 Like honestly this must be so exciting for these people I'm really happy that so many people are already supporting this indie game!
This has the best music sync I've ever seen in a trailer. Like even the Plague Doctor's walk animation is synced with the music. It just makes me appreciate the attention to detail even more.
Yes, I'm a hollow knight fan. Yes, this obviously takes inspiration from it (as it should- it's a fantastic game). But, you can tell from the trailers that this game is going for a completely different feel. Hollow knight was mystical, bloodless, and even cute in a lot of the earlier areas. Crowsworn advertises it's blood and guts in like the first 10 seconds. I'm willing to bet there's not going to be much 'cute' or 'mystical' aspects- if there's any at all. They're basically using some of Hollow Knight's attack patterns (which other games used before HK did for the most part), and a similar artstyle, but completely changing the story/what they want their players to feel. This is NOT a ripoff in any way shape or form. Looking forward to see what you're doing, Mongoose. It's looking epic.
The art and feel looks like bloodborne dark fantasy theme and thats make me like it even more and i think the gameplay will feel like DMC mix with hollow knight this game seem to have more abilities usage in combat more than hollow knight and it looks so goddamn cool and satisfying.
The art style and some scenarios definitely look inspired in HK. But it definitely seems to be trying to do its own thing, at least with the combat, that shit looks cool as fuck. Remind me a bit of Nioh for some reason.
@@christianarcement9387 Feel free to comment it yourself, if they miss mine, they may catch yours. Spread the word of the healing church, and may the good blood guide your way.
Indie devs: we are making a metroidvania kickstarter game Indie players: mmm okay Indie devs: it has bloodborne and DmC vibes From software and Capcom fans: it might be good, but will never be like the originals, but I might try it. Indie devs: it is also inspired by Hollow Knight Team cherry's fans: donates twice the money it needs.
"You can't just take Castlevania, Metroid, Devil May Cry and Bloodborne and make a game!" These guys: "Hold my plague doctor mask..." Seriously hyped for this game.
We are so goddamn hyped for this game, you just don’t understand. Crowsworn and Silksong are definitely gonna turn some of us into basement-dwellers for a few months when they come out
Some of the people in this comment section dont seem to understand metrovania games. HK is probably one of the most popular of these games, so no surprise a lot of metrovania games take inspiration from it, but some people calling it a straight up rip-off is just rude and counterproductive. You want more games like HK? Then dont be an ass and give game devs a chance, not everything is a rip-off, im honestly excited, I love HK and im pretty sure im gonna love this game too.
The creators have admitted that they took inspiration from HK and you can easily see that, especially the art style. There's nothing particularly wrong with that at all! I'm actually interested in the game because it took inspiration from HK.
nah. this game's whole aesthetic and ui design is so blatantly lifted from one specific game that it goes beyond "understanding metrovania games." i don't demand complete originality from small devs trying to make a good game, but when it's this shameless it feels insulting. it's way past mere inspiration.
Visually at least, this looks extremely similar to hollow knight. Not that I think this is going to be a bad game, but the comparisons are completely valid.
I really hate how there’s the constant comparison to hollow knight for any metroidvanias now, but this I genuinely feel will be the advantage and wave that this will need to generate support and fans. Who knows? I feel like eventually people will start comparing future games with crowsworn
The game is obviously heavily inspired by Hollow Knight, even the devs say so. But that isn't a bad thing, in fact, I think this game looks absolutely incredible. It takes ideas and elements from Hollow Knight and just runs with it and puts its own twist on it and I'm just as hyped for this as I am for Silksong
I dont get how people can complain, like this looks fun as hell, who looks at this and says, looks boring. its a faster pace hollow knight with dmc and bloodborne setting and combat, which are some of my favorite franchises, it looks fun af.
I can't Believe it's not Hollow Knight! Seriously, though, the game looks hella promising. It reminds me of Shovel Knight and Devil May Cry for some reason.
so, I looked at the trailer because I heard people say that it was a HK rip-off, and honestly, I'm super hyped about this now. This game might be the first ever thing I back on kickstarter
This looks so hollow knight, I checked twice to see if TeamCherry are not the developers. But by the end of the trailer it feels different enough to not be a hollow knight clone (although if we are honest I would have bought it first day regardless, there is not enough hollow knight on the market).
I’m actually caught somewhere between amazed and suspicious - the art style is so similar it’s either a technical feat to have emulated Hollow Knight’s aesthetic and colour palette to such a faithful degree, or these developers are wizards at copying assets. Either way, a plague doctor with a scythe hits my Bloodborne sweet spot so I guess I’ll kiss my money good ye
@@brandontjy This is exactly how I'm feeling. It looks INCREDIBLE, and built from the ground up they've creates a freaking incredible feat. But it's alarmingly close to hollow knight, from the art direction, to the setting and world layout to the way the enemies moves are choreographed. If i didn't know otherwise I'd think it was either a mod or by team cherry
@@gannielukks1811 its inspired by HK. And everyone is in acceptance of that. Team Cherry has no issues, the developers of crowsworn have mentioned its inspired by HK i believe. In anycase, i feel its good. Let there be more games like HK. It just cements what a classic HK is.. To have spawned so many games similiar to it.
Sure, it mimics hollow knight, but: 1. Thats arguably a good thing considering it's quality 2. It looks so fucking good and it's like hollow knight dark souls with guns I want to play it now it looks so fun
The animation looks so good I can't wait to play the game even though that will be a few years from now. You can tell the game was inspired by Hollow Knight, DMC, and Bloodborne and it looks amazing. I know there will be tons of people playing this game when it comes out. Amazing work and congrats on the Kickstarter instantly backed it when I saw the notification.
God I hate how people nowadays compare almost every single Metroidvania to HK. Even if it referenced it in the description. It’s so annoying, especially since all the aspects they normally point out have been in metroidvanias far before HK was even conceptualized, let alone released. This happens with so many other games too, whether it be Hollow Knight or not. It all boils down to compare new game to old popular game to demean new game form having its own identity. Can’t wait for this game though.
