Have you ever considered taking a Cruise? First time cruising can be quite a challenge, but we are here to help you plan out the perfect @Carnival Cruise!
In this video, we flew out of the Toledo Express Airport to Sanford, Florida. Join us as we fly Allegiant air. The flight was great and our upgraded seats were worth the extra money! After the 2 hour flight, we rented a Ford Explorer from Budget Rental Car.
Once in Sanford, we drove to Orlando to check in at Universal’s Endless Summer Dockside Resort. The resort is conveniently located in the @UniversalOrlando Resort area. With quick access to both Universal Studios Orlando and Island’s of Adventure, there is no doubt as to why this is the perfect value resort! The cost of the resort varies, but usually starts in the $90 range with rates going for well over $170 per night. We do a quick room tour and then are off to bed.
The next morning we checked out of Dockside and headed to Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Resort. We went to the Poly for Breakfast at the newly renovated Kona Cafe. We tried the famous Tonga toast, Pineapple Macadamia Nut pancakes and, of course, Mickey Waffles! There is no better way than to start our vacation with a Disney breakfast!!
Now let’s get to the main attraction- the Carnival Freedom!! And as a neat experience, we decided to take 2 cruises back to back!! This means we will take a 5 day cruise and then stay on the ship for an additional 4 day cruise. After a quick hour drive to Port Canaveral, we made our way to Terminal 6. After going through security and customs we boarded the ship! The very best moment of any cruise is the moment you step aboard and see the atrium for the first time. After, we checked in at our muster station and went to our stateroom. Our room was located on deck 9, the lido deck, forward starboard. We had an interior room- cabin number 9202.
Next we went to the Freedom Restaurant the aft Lido deck buffet for our first cruise meal. We had Pizza from pizza pirate, a salad and pasta. As the ship set sail, we danced at the Sail Away party with our cruise director, James Love.
Next we went for dinner in the Main Dining Room. We were assigned Your time Dinning, which means we can choose to dine anytime between 5:30 and 9:30 pm. We were assigned to the Chic dining room located on deck 3 forward. We had Hendri as our lead team waiter and loved the entire team!
Next we decided to head to the Alchemy Bar, the Punchliner comedy club and then ended the evening at Scott’s Piano Bar.
As a surprise Rachael got up and did a duet with @JohnsonLeePiano the Piano Bar entertainer. They performed Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s song Shallow.
Overall, we had a fabulous first night aboard the Carnival Freedom!! Stay tuned for videos from the rest of our trip!
