Let’s hear it for travel insurance! I use insurance even for long weekends in Mexico. I’ve only needed to use it once to cover flight home to beat a winter storm. I was reimbursed for the flight home along with expense for Uber, food, etc. I was so grateful.

I was on the June 8th NCL Bliss sailing with the woman who had the large med bill. They had a session on how to run a floating hotel. During the Q&A, she got up and "yelled" at the hotel staff for her medical insurance not covering the charges. The poor crew looked confused since it had nothing to do with their jobs.

She should have known it doesn’t cover. Example. Cruise to Alaska, get sick in Juneau, your US company coverage fine. On board ship or Vancover , you’re out of luck. Yelling at staff , so not cool. People embarrass themselves.

They should offer some sort of Medical package for people to buy onboard like insurance that covers whatever you need at the onboard doctor. Someone will buy it and not need and those that buy and need it wouldn't walk away with thousands in bills

If you submit the bill to your insurance they will reimburse you I had a visit to the infirmary my insurance reimbursed me

If she was a "seasoned cruiser" like she claims she is, she should have asked how much the IV's and the rest were going to cost. She is trying to get sympathy from everyone. Her trsvel insurance covered it anyways, so that is probably why she didn't ask how much the treatments cost.
