I've been working on a new feature for the channel that I hope you'll enjoy.
Starting today I'll be releasing the first of four chapters from my 'Cruising The Trent Severn Waterway' production that was originally released in 2015 as a 72 minute long DVD/Blu ray combo package. The full presentation takes viewers from 'Mile Zero' at Trenton on Lake Ontario, through the entire 240 miles/386 km right up to Lock #45 at Port Severn where the system meets Georgian Bay/Lake Huron. Best part is that a good deal was filmed right from our boat as we cruised the area aboard our then Sea Ray 400 Sedan Bridge. Most of the footage was taken in 2014, with an update of Trent Port Marina at Trenton, captured in 2019.
At the time, the disks were available for sale online, but due to the DVD/Disc format quickly losing appeal, they were no longer in demand and sales were discontinued . . .
However, rather than keep the video on the shelf, so to speak, I'm making it available for you here!
Given its long run time, I've broken it up into four chapters, with this being Chapter One. This portion provides an overview of the system and takes the viewer from the starting point in Trenton and up to Lock #6 at Frankford.
There was a considerable amount of time invested into the production and it's my hope that everyone will enjoy the insights, lovely scenery and as always, inspiration!
Subsequent chapters will be released each Sunday 😊
Over the past number of years of cruising this lovely waterway, I've produced well over 200 other videos from our wonderful visits, which you can find in this ever expanding playlist here; • Trent Severn Waterway ...
Enjoy this video and would like to support the channel even more? Feel free to make a one time or ongoing contribution via PayPal here: www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_....

It's neat seeing what feels like a condensed documentary of the RU-vid videos that you made when I first started watching (the 400 fly videos in the warerway).

Much appreciated, Doug. Doing my voiceovers was the most challenging part of this production for me. If you've watched any number of my other videos, you'll know that I generally talk off the cuff, so to speak. Even though none of the narration was scripted, working on maintaining a good flow for what I wanted to impart often resulted in a fair amount of frustration and more than a few chuckles 😁

It will be nice to see again . I bought the film when you first put it out but, lost my copy with a crashed hard drive. Watched it many times and showed to friends. Have watched from the beginning and you should have a million subscribers. Ocean Cruised many miles in my 60' ketch but would have liked done some canal trips. So at 87 I'm doing it by watching your trips and some of the narrow boats in Europe. I am still active by restoring antique run a bouts, have 3 at present. Keep up and best wishes to you and Anchor Girl

Yes Richard, I remember you're getting the original presentation a few years back. Glad that you're still following along on our newest adventures. Speaking of canal cruising, I'll be sharing our first ever cruise on the Rideau Canal from this past summer over the coming weeks. Unfortunately we didn't get as far on that portion of our voyage as I had hoped for, but an eye opening experience for us. I'll look forward to your comments when we reach that area. Cheers, Paul.

Thoroughly, enjoying this series! We're currently on the loop and are planning to have our boat (No Rush) dry docked in the 1000 island area next summer. We'll return the summer of 2024 to leisurely make our way through Canada and back to our home port of St. Joseph, MI. My question is, what would the earliest date be to begin the Trent Severn waterway while enjoying 21C temperatures? Thank you!

Sounds good, but I'm thinking that you'll have to go to Vegas first. Only there can one find the very best fortune tellers to make a prediction on the weather. Either that, or get in touch with Mother Nature to see what she has in mind for 2023 :-))

Wow!!!! Great video. If my boat is wider than 23 feet, what is the alternate route?
@BoatingWithBoogaboo
@BoatingWithBoogaboo Год назад
To get from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron/Georgian Bay taking the long way around, one would have to cross Lake Ontario to the Welland Canal, onto Lake Erie and head all the way west to the Detroit River, north on that to Lake St. Clair, up the St. Clair River and onto the very bottom of Lake Huron at Sarnia. Then, it's north to Tobermory and crossing Georgian Bay to Midland/Port Severn. Check that out on Google Maps to get an idea of the extra distance that would be required to end up at the same spot. If time was an issue, I'd suggest having the vessel trailered to the destination...
