What I'd love to see from Crumar is a wonderful Stage Piano, with 88 and 73/76 keys options. With aftertouch, and all the features needed (layers, splits, presets, edits, independient volume and effects control for each section, etc). Combining the Seven, the Mojo and the best from beloved vintage ones like Orchestrator, Trilogy, Bit 99, etc. As with Seven, high quality onboard effects. And of course, the posibilities to import and store sound and samples. That would be killer!.
@TROGULAR10000
@TROGULAR10000 5 лет назад
Yeah that would be cool. like a direct competitor to the stage or nord electro at a fraction of the price, and with a better interface, as Clavia's interfaces are getting worse with each new generation of keys, not integrating the more powerful new features well and consistently raising prices in some sort of hype onslaught. Clavia have the best sounds, the best controls over the sounds, but really silly interfaces and inflated prices. Behringer is making some crazily cool and affordable new synths of surprising quality, making more expensive brands scratch their heads so Crumar is well placed to take on Clavia, Roland, Korg etc with that same spirit

Great demo of gorgeous sounding and looking instrument. I feel like this is an instant classic. I would love to be playing this thing in a dark room just by the glow from the controls.

great review, I just got mine chuck, I was wrong, this is not a toy. the Rhodes and surly are right on.........notice the lighted encoders they used not your analog potentiometers.......gives more control, more accurate, uses digital not analog, lasts longer than pots! simple and easy to use, can't stop playing it

@TROGULAR10000

Roberto, here's my review for what it's worth: the keyboard is the best part. it's perfect, and feels high quality. Hammer action as found on the more expensive romplers. Much nicer feel and less noisy than Electro 4HP. Re sounds: Rhodes, wurlitzer, clav (with legacy switches), marimba, yamaha, acoustic piano all sound good. I really don't like FM piano but it's also completely realistic. One of the synth sounds is almost usable and the implementation of that always-available pad layer is interesting (though I'll never use it myself). Awesome that it packs up in its own case and that you can adjust in-depth with your phone or computer. I didn't like the effects implementation although others might, I realize. I use external effects but I know they had to include these effects although I would have much preferred traditional pots and switches. My guess is they would have had to put twice the amount of pots than you have of these super bright and distracting encoders but there's definitely the room on the panel and then they wouldn't have had to implement the RGB colors. Worse thing about the encoders is the resolution of some of the parameters including volume: takes like 20 full 360 degree turns to travel from 0 to 10, which is ridiculous in a live situation. I have never spent so much time adjusting volume or indeed effects. They can fix that in an update and hope they will. Ironically I had the exact same issue with the Minibrute 2S that I just bought where they have 100 levels for gate per step on the sequencer which makes adjusting gate a total pain. Arturia could fix it also or make it an adjustable parameter. I replaced the knobs with opaque ones on mine. The RGB feedback lights are so bright they shine through the edges and it's just as easy to see and adjust than on the clear buttons. I'm sure the brightness issue can be fixed to an extent although Also in order to compete better with Clavia I would have included a few organ sounds, even just samples, but you can understand why they didn't considering the Mojo line and that this is sold piano instrument. You do get one organ sound which is actually fairly usable.

This is awesome, and incredible, especially with such a light weight. I had a few questions you answered, like if it was Android compatible, if it had a headphone output and such, which I believe so, being solid State electronic, not like a traditional Fender Rhodes. I guess it does not have built in speakers and amplification. The built in storage for the power adapter and pedals is a plus. Also, what kind if varrying case and handle, shoulder straps or compatible case us available for it? And ultimately, when will it be available, and fir how much, US $? Aldo, the Crumar top mentioned more info on the website. Could you please place the link in the video description? Thanks again, for another great video! I love Roland keyboards, and want to get a Casio Privia S3000, but this makes me itch for this vintage vibe and all the modern co trol and access tweaks. It reminds we of the Yamaha Reface CP mini portable electric piano in a full sized look package with regular sized keys and action.

If this wasn't so expensive I would have one. Not that I think it's overpriced, I don't. I just can't justify spending that kind of money when I can get a board for half that and it will do far more. That said, if money was less tight, I would happily pay more for this beautiful homage to the past.

Looks super nice! Thanks for sharing. One question; is the height of the legs ajustable? I got the MOJO two manual and I'm wondering if I could stack them. Or would the upper manual be to high/far?
@HOOKSnKISSES
@HOOKSnKISSES 5 лет назад
@Stig Andersen No adjustable legs. Since the Seven's hood is effectively just 26cm deep I would advice against stacking any dual manual clonewheel on top of it. Even the single manual MOJO 61 would stick out conciderably but I've seen it done before so... In the end you will have to decide what works for you and is "aesthetically tolerable" ;) Hope this helps. (Edited: did some rewording/rephrasing for clarity)
@TROGULAR10000
@TROGULAR10000 5 лет назад
@@HOOKSnKISSES Actually the non-adjustable legs and case, even though the latter is cool conceptually (finally a keyboard sold with a case) is where they cut expenses to bring it down to the reasonable price. They are actually upfront about this and advise against excessive load on the hood and acknowledge that the outer casing with the lid closed is no substitute for a flight case (to be clear legs are plenty sturdy, just non-adjustable). But in a car or bus luggage compartment the solidity of the case will be fine structurally for sure, though will probably get scratched unless you take measures against that. On the Mojo 61 on top: I've already stacked some heavy instruments on the hood and it looked like they could stay there permanently and Crumar themselves stack a Mojo on top of it in one of the many really good demo videos (one thing for sure this company offers demos by an actual player, something Clavia and others are unable to do for some reason). To stack a Mojo on it more safely than they did it, use a one-cm thick plank big enough to receive all four of the Mojo's feet so the plank distributes the weight evenly over the hood and you should have no probs. Some kind of non-slip cloth if you're concerned about the wood damaging the hood but it shouldn't. You can have the legs shortened in a shop. The current length is perfect for playing it standing up unless your tall and like your keys high when sitting. I believe the Rhodes legs were adjustable btw, but they required extra brackets
@stigadk
@stigadk 5 лет назад
Thanks H&K and Trogular for insightful comments. Here in EU the Seven has been sold out for a while but seems to be back in stock. I'll order soon and I'm sure I'll enjoy this crumar product as much as I do my MOJO. I will probably place it on the side of the MOJO to achieve the best playing position.

Built-in speakers aren't common in professional-level keyboard instruments. They're useless when used in a recording studio or on a stage, so the extra cost, design space, and liability aren't worth the hassle when it's largely intended for these purposes. This will surely have a headphone jack for private practice, however, as most modern keyboard instruments do.
